  • "We had a lovely weekend."

The house was immaculate and as described. Location was perfect for local scenic walks and very quiet. Hot tub was a welcome treat, although we couldn’t adjust the temperature beyond 36deg and it limited our usage as we got cold. Gritty/flakey deposits were in the hot tub (possibly chemicals due to lower temp not dissolving?) It would have been useful to have known on the listing that there was a cafetière! Overall a delightful stay. Would happily return or recommend. Thank you.

Thankyou for taking the time to provide feedback, it's much appreciated, and we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay. The Hot Tub Temperature can be set above 36 degrees, and can go up as high as 40 Degrees. It can be turned up or down by the use of a single button which unfortunately is not as straight forward as we'd like but it's as designed by the manufacturer. Detailed instructions on how to set the temperature are included in the Welcome Pack Information Folder. In regard to the flakey deposits, unfortunately we live in a "Hard Water" area which can sometimes cause a build-up of Limescale, that occasionally ends up in the floor of the Hot Tub. Although the limescale is harmless, we appreciate it is not ideal, therefore we are taking measures to reduce the likelihood of limescale deposits in the future. Property Owner

  • "Very clean and comfortable cottage, set in lovely woodland with walks from the doorstep."

Hot tub was nice to relax in at the end of the day but was uncomfortable to sit in with the crystals or whatever was put in not dissolving properly, it got into our swimwear. The wall between us and next door I thought would’ve been insulated better, we could here their to nearly every night ☹️ Overall it was a great week with lovely weather in a lovely part of the country xx

More comfortable outdoor seating would also be good. All the facilities were excellent and the welcome pack much appreciated.

Thankyou for taking the time to provide feedback, it's much appreciated, and we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are looking into options for secure cycle storage and improved outdoor seating, which we hope to include in the near future. We are pleased you liked the welcome pack (including milk, jams and biscuits) to help you settle in on your first night, which we believe helps the stay in the cottage extra-special :-) Property Owner

I cannot recommend 1 Greenway highly enough. It has everything you need, the accommodation is so clean and beautifully furnished and the gardens and setting are just breath taking. The owners really have gone out of their way to make sure you have a perfect time. You will not be disappointed. Absolutely loved it and will be recommending to all my friends and family.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, its very much appreciated. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at the cottage, and hope that you'll consider returning to the cottage and the Forest of Dean in future. Property Owner

  • "Great, newly fitted-out cottage in a very peaceful location with handy on-site parking."

There is NO passing traffic and SO much birdsong. The cottage would benefit from a secure outdoor store for bikes. The kitchen equipment provided only the bare essentials: It has limited utensils and lacks large saucepans, mixing bowls, small glasses and kitchen scales. The hot tub may be attractive to some but, running 24/7, it is a HUGE waste of energy - when will it dawn on people that there is a climate crisis? The Forest of Dean is an amazing place for enjoying outdoor activities like walking and biking and it's just there from the door step. We will definitely be back!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. its much appreciated. We are a bit surprised about the glasses, as we already provide 3 types of glasses, Pint Glasses, Tall Glasses and Wine Glasses, but will look for some smaller tumblers. In regard to Kitchen utensils, generally our guests provide feedback that the cottage has everything they need, and kitchen scales are a first for us... as not many guests wish to do any baking whilst on holiday :-) We are looking into a way in which our cycling guests can secure their bicycles in future. We pride ourselves in being environmentally conscious in the way in which we operate the holiday let, including waste recycling for our guests, and hot-water filling the eco-friendly Hot Tub just before each guest booking, which avoids running the Hot Tub 24x7 unnecessarily between guests, and contrary to popular belief, once the Hot Tub is at the correct temperature it's cheaper to keep running as opposed to only heating it during certain hours, and once visitors have left we use the waste water to water on the Garden. We are glad that you enjoyed visiting the Forest of Dean, and hope that you'll consider staying at the cottage again. Property Owner

  • "Cottage exceeded our expectations, we were really pleased with it."

Had everything we wanted , as a cat lover was an unexpected bonus to have ‘Sidney’ the cat adopt us for the week. Was lovely going for a walk in the woods next to the cottage ( did wonder if a circular walk could be undertaken). Certainly intend using this property again in the future and have shared details with friends.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay and considering staying at the cottage again in future. We are glad that you enjoyed the woodland walks and there are several circular walks around the area of varying distances depending upon peoples ability and interest, which we'll seek to include in the Welcome Information Pack. • "An extremely clean and comfortable cottage with the added extra of the hot tub, which was enjoyed on our return at the end of the day."

The owner had obviously put in a lot of thought into what equipment would be needed, as we didn't need to purchase any essentials during the week. The cottage was well positioned for local towns and villages as well as Symonds Yat, the Sculpture Trail and other walking areas. We would highly recommend this cottage to both couples and small families.

Thank you for your feedback, it's very much appreciated. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay and also made good use of the Hot Tub, also visiting local places of interest. We hope that you'll consider staying at the cottage again, the next time you visit the Forest of Dean. Property Owner
