  • "A wonderful cottage located on the Main Street of Chipping Campden so easy access to shops, pubs and restaurants."

Joanna (host) is noted as being very helpful and friendly in the visitor’s comment book in the cottage and this proved to be exactly the case for us. She engaged with our child, invited her to play with her own children, and gave us great tips on local events such as Shakespeare’s birthday on 23rd April and its celebration within Stratford-Upon-Avon. Some excellent tips regarding locals pubs and takeaways also given.

Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Kettle Cottage and managed to make the most of the surrounding area. We hope to welcome you back again. Property Owner

  • "Kettle Cottage was both comfortable and attractive."

The owners were friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. The best thing about it was its location in the middle of Chipping Campden, with a good choice of eateries on the doorstep, and beautiful walks and places to visit nearby. The only disadvantage was the very small kitchen, which made "eating-in" a bit tricky, but that was not unexpected as the listing and reviews made it clear that the cottage was fairly compact downstairs. Upstairs, the bedrooms and bathrooms were very spacious, which suited us very well. We also loved the private decking area.

Thank you for your feedback, we always love to hear how much our guests have enjoyed staying and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

Not huge but perfectly fine for four adults and every facility that we might have needed was provided. The owners live next door and they were extremely friendly and offered helpful advice. Overall a great place to stay in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds that has lots to see and do.

  • "We had an absolutely fantastic week at Kettle Cottage."

Joanna and her family were the perfect hosts, and simply could not do enough to ensure that we were having a good time and that all of our needs were met. The cottage itself is lovely, particularly the upstairs bedrooms and the terrace, which got great sunshine. The local area is absolutely stunning and there is so much to do within a short walk or car journey. One of our highlights was a visit to Little Oaks Vineyard just outside of Chipping Camden. The local recreation ground is also a real find, with plenty of room for the children to play and the adults to exercise. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anybody looking for a relaxing peaceful break in the heart of the Cotswolds. Thank you Joanna for your wonderful hospitality and an excellent stay.

Joanne was always available with any advice needed. The cottage is well placed for access to all the cotswold destinations. Although there is no designated parking, we were always able to get close to the cottage when we came back from a day out.

Joanna is a delightful host and was on hand should we have needed anything. The cottage was clean and cozy. The little kitchen was adequate and the two spacious bedrooms, one with a lovely view of the church and a terrace to sit out on, were very comfortable. We would happily return to Kettle Cottage.

  • "Kettle cottage is ideally placed, just off the high street, for shops, pubs and restaurants."

It is tucked away to the back of Kettle House. Downstairs is small, especially the kitchen, but it has everything you’d need for a break away and is plenty big enough for a family of four or indeed two couples. Upstairs is more spacious with two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. Off one bedroom is the fabulous verandah (also reached via steps from the garden) which has idyllic views over the shared garden, neighbouring gardens and the nearby church. We spent many a happy hour here enjoying a glass of something in the sunshine! Joanna, the owner who lives in Kettle House, is a delight to deal with and is so friendly and helpful. All in all it was a great stay.

Joanna will be pleased to hear to you had a great stay and that you were able to enjoy the verandah with its idyllic views. Many thanks Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "A charming spot and very friendly and helpful hostess, who took a keen interest in our stay."

Chipping Campden more than met our expectations of a visit to the Cotswolds and we would definitely return again. It was actually advantageous to be situated off the main high street, as it reduced the potential noise from the traffic.

Chipping Campden is a great base to explore the Cotswolds, we are glad you were able to do this from Kettle Cottage. We would love to welcome you back to Kettle Cottage in the future. Property Owner

  • "Kettle Cottage is delightfully quiet, since it is set back behind the owner's house - yet just steps from the lovely High Street."

The upstairs rooms are most spacious and light, and the little terrace off the main bedroom is so peaceful; downstairs the living/dining area is large though slightly dark, and warm enough in a damp August with the occasional use of the electric fire. The kitchen area is tiny, but fine if, like us, you are just using it for breakfast and a cup of tea. We always managed to find a nearby parking space across the road.

Joanna recommended various pubs, restaurants, parks to visit. The cottage was lovely with a delightful patio / garden area outside one of the bedrooms. Joanna's two daughters, Poppy and Milly were so sweet and on the first day came to visit us to see our 8 month old grand daughter. Joanna not only provided cot and highchair but also toys for our grand daughter. Very thoughtful of Joanna. Definitely recommend this cottage which is in walking distance to amenities.

  • "The location of the cottage was very good with access to the town in easy walking distance."

There are no buses that we could see so if you need to visit any surrounding areas a car is needed. The cottage itself was very nice and the welcome by the hosts excellent and very friendly. They couldn't do enough for us. There was some ingredients in the kitchen cupboards which was good and Joanna left us some biscuits - thank you. The kitchen is rather small and not conducive to cooking a meal but when you're on holiday, you don't need that. That bedrooms were lovely with the added bonus of a terrace for our use off the back bedroom. The garden was really nice. Thank you for making us feel at home.

  • "The cottage is lovely and spacious upstairs, although we found the mattress in the second bedroom tired and uncomfortable."

The cottage is very small downstairs! Kitchen is tiny. We were disappointed to find out we might not have use of the garden as the cottage is attached to the owners’ property and use of the garden would therefore be subject to the owners not using it. Fortunately they were away while we stayed and therefore could use the garden. If this was disclosed on the website we would not have booked the cottage. The lounge has a flame effect, electric ‘wood burner’ which was also disappointing. Good location though and enjoyed the quietness as the cottage is at the back of the property and away from the road.

The property

What a sweet and historic cottage!

Kettle Cottage, literally, is a gem of a holiday home tucked down a little cobbled alley off the Chipping Campden High Street.

With records dating back many hundreds of years, this archetypal bolt hole was originally where the locals used to come to get their kettles mended, in fact today on the High Street you'll see a huge wall mounted kettle outside the main house!

Now, instead of mending kettles, you can walk in under a minute to view an art gallery, enjoy a meal, a coffee or be enjoying a bracing walk on the Cotswold Way.

Inside, the cottage is simply but well furnished, compact and ideal for two but able to accommodate four (there are two large bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs*).

The rooms upstairs are large and light.

It is a lovely little cottage in one of the Cotswolds most attractive and popular locations.

This market town defines the saying "good things come in small packages" as it proves itself to be a wonderful place for tourists to stay. Chipping Campden sits in the northern part of the Cotswolds and boasts many historical buildings from St. James' church where the Chipping Camden Music Festival is held every year, to the early 17th century market hall upon which the town prides itself. Not only does the town have a rich history but much more, the high street is laced with charming Cotswold stone buildings with a range of shops and pubs. Nearby there are several beautiful, formal gardens for you to wander through. Chipping Campden has held its own 'Olimpick Games' since the early 1600s including peculiar sports such as 'shin-kicking', most certainly worth lining your holiday up with to experience something so unique. For a dose of famous history, head to the birthplace of William Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon just 12 short miles away, it offers some charming little buildings, bookshops, theatres and museums.
