  • "Stubb Oak is simply a fabulous place to spend time, and not even the recent inclement weather put a dampener on an immensely relaxing, thoroughly enjoyable week at this cottage."

I’d give it six stars if I could. The cottage was spotlessly clean, exceptionally comfortable, and extremely well equipped. The owners were very helpful and responded to any queries promptly, but they weren’t the least bit intrusive. The cottage is located in a remarkably tranquil setting and its garden is visited by a wide variety of wildlife, especially birds. If you’re looking for a peaceful, comfortable stay in stunningly beautiful countryside, look no further than Stubb Oak. I am already looking at returning.

Shaun thank you for your lovely review sorry the weather wasn’t the best but if you’re like me if there’s plenty to see around then the wildlife and birds make up for the weather, we aim to make the cottage as comfortable as possible and like you say just leave you to enjoy yourselves if there’s anything you think would be a asset just let us know,so glad you are thinking of returning hope to see you in the future all the best stay safe and a happy new year. The welcome pack along with badger feeding tips and food were an added bonus! And, we actually saw a badger feeding on the patio step! We'd definitely recommend this cottage and would certainly seek to book it again should we wish to return to the area.

Thank you for your feedback on our cottage, we aim to provide all things you have and use in your home and if there is anything that you can recommend then we will get that item, the bonus is all the visiting wildlife and a large fenced garden for kids and pets to be safe. Wish we could have stayed longer! Great cottage - all of the facilities you would want to see (and more!). Well placed for our planned walking - even did the circular walk around the village based on the historic fruit farming business. The beds are dreamy. The lounges more than comfortable. Kitchen exceptionally well kitted out. The visits by the wildlife were enchanting; from the tenacious squirrels, daft pheasants and assortment of other birds - absolute treat was a red and black and white woodpecker. But the icing on the cake was the nightly Brock visits. Fabulous. Reading the guest book there are many return visitors and I think our name will be on there soon!

Thank you for your lovely response so glad you enjoyed your stay at our cottage,it means a lot to get people’s input and as you say for peace and quiet there’s nothing to beat it,the walks and wildlife are a bonus, stay safe come again all the best. Mike and Sue Property Owner

Garden all enclosed for our Lady Amber and kept her inside when we had the badger food out, such a treat to see wildlife on your doorstep! Thank you for the wine an chocolates too, much appreciated, Regards, Walking Ladies

Perfect for our wee group of 3 adults, 3 kids and a dog. Fully equipped. Exceptionally clean. Some lovely walks around local area. Fully secure and enclosed garden. Like most folk…the badgers were a highlight in the evening too. We were in area to visit family so didn’t do many activities however priory park in Malvern was great place and a lovely find. Sadly the swimming pool in Malvern was less so- went to evening family splash session in evening and place is dirty, pool is cold and staff less then helpful- so save yourself from that experience. Would love to come back to Stubb Oak; owners and house were just fab!

Thank you for your review we aim to provide everything you need and have at home and yes we got badgers not what you usually see at your back door but what a treat, sorry to hear about your visit to the swimming pool I must say I have never been there and thanks for the heads up I will cross that off my places to visit come again we still have a lot to see and do, all the best stay safe. It feels like a home from home, relaxing , clean and amazingly well stocked. The beds are super comfy too and the owners really have thought of everything that you might need during your stay. 2 lounges, each with a smart TV too, so plenty of space for 6 people The gardens are large, secure and well equipped with garden furniture enabling you to enjoy a drinks and food outside The bird feeders attract so many different species and watching the badgers come to feed at dusk is wonderful Parking for 4 cars on the drives too is a real bonus The location in Colwall is great as you can visit so many places either on foot, for example a 6 mile return trip to The Kettle Sings across the fields and hills and the food is lovely, as are the spectacular views from the cafe, or by car to Ledbury, Symonds Yat, Upton upon Severn, Tewkesbury and Worcester. There is a train station too with connections to Birmingham and the West Midlands. There is a small convenience store in Colwall for essentials and newspapers within walking distance There are so many walks to do in the Malvern Hills, a wonderful theatre and cinema in Great Malvern, plus plenty of eateries and a waitrose. Highly recommend Stubb Oak for a relaxing break if you love an outdoors holiday in beautiful British countryside no matter what the weather is doing

Thank you for your lovely review,so glad you got about and enjoyed all there is to offer around us however there’s still plenty left to see and do especially the falconry centre at Newent that’s about 8 miles away but worth the visit, come again check it out, all the best stay safe. The house was well stocked with everything that you could want. Like many others who had stayed there, we didn't want to go home! Thank you for the lovely wine chocolate and dog treats which all went down very well for all of us. • "We absolutely loved the property - bungalow, garden and outlook."

The moment I walked in and looked around I fell in love with it, wanted to stay there forever! There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The only suggestion I would make is to let people know in advance a bit more detail as to what is there: for example, I texted and asked whether there was a cafetière and a hairdryer but didn't get a response (there are two cafetières, and a hairdryer in each bedroom). Also, we only discovered the binoculars (in a storage footstool) as we were tidying up to leave: we would have used these to watch the birds and wildlife had we known about them. But these are minor details, the property is fantastic: if you want tranquillity, outdoor space and indoor comfort, this is the place to go.

Hi glad you enjoyed your stay at our cottage, sorry about the text we never received one otherwise we would have replied but all you had to do was open the cupboards to see if there were any cafeterias also there is a info sheet letting you know of items in box such as games etc sorry you didn’t check the sheet, however the binoculars are a bonus as these items you usually bring with you like cameras, still if you come again you will be more aware.
