We visited with out 2 kids and they enjoyed it just as much as we did. With a car, there is a lot to see in the surrounding villages and towns. Altogether an amazing experience and we'd love to return soon.

  • "Cotswolds charm and character - A fantastic week in the village where I grew up!"

I have known this cottage for the past forty years, but the current owners have done a brilliant job of blending style with Cotswolds character and charm. Totally “liveable”, practical, warm and cosy and in the best possible location in Chedworth. Great pub nearby, awesome walking and close to both Cirencester, Cheltenham and lots of other local attractions. Our young family and friends all loved this cottage and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Chedworth.

The added touches such as toy boxes was such a lovely surprise and kept the toddlers entertained. The cottage itself is stunning with lots of communal space. Would recommend to family and friends. Thank you

    JennySep 2019

  • "Superb property."

Remote location but yards away from the local pub (which serves great food and drink offerings and very friendly) and a short drive to all the main Cotswolds attractive villages. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed to enjoy a week away from home

The manager, Sue, was very responsive to any questions we had. We enjoyed touring all around southern England.

  • "We absolutely adored staying here!"

The home is incredibly quaint, great amenities, beautifully clean and situated in a picturesque town. We stayed an extra night as we didn't want to leave and would highly recommend this cottage! The pub a few doors up was also a highlight!

  • "We had a wonderful stay at the cottage - my wife, two kids and mother all appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the house."

We arrived to an immaculately clean space with a few grocery items already stocked. The area is gorgeous and the location made for a great jumping off point for all the top sites in the Cotswolds. My daughters loved their secret passage way bedroom and loved having a separate play space with plenty of toys and games. Highly recommend.

  • "A true gem."

Lovely cottage, especially for those with small children. My daughters loved their secret room and was so reassuring having them just through the ensuite. Could not fault it! Great little village with a much more homely feel than any of the more popular surrounding towns. highly recommend!

The property

Willow Tree Cottage is a stunning, spacious cottage, nestled within the picturesque Cotswolds village of Chedworth.

Originally built for the railway station master, the cottage is built from Cotswold Stone and retains a wealth of period features, which are perfectly fused with a modern, contemporary style, making it the perfect home-from-home for a small family or two couples who are looking for a relaxing break.

The grounds of the cottage are entered through a lovely beech archway, which opens onto a large gravel driveway where you can park up to four cars.

As you unload your luggage in through the front door, you are welcomed by the bright entrance hall, which leads you to the dual aspect reading room, where you can get some peace and quiet sat at one of the wing back armchairs, overlooking the views of the garden.

Moving through the property into the kitchen/diner, you will find everything you need to cook up delicious meals for your party, making use of the electric oven and five-ring induction hob, and perhaps watching a cooking show in the meantime on the wall-mounted Smart TV, before gathering with your guests around the dining table.

The stylishly decorated sitting room provides a welcoming space for you and your loved ones to relax of an evening, surrounded by an impressive exposed Cotswold stone wall, as you catch up on your favourite TV show and get the woodburning stove crackling away to provide warmth in winter months.

Conveniently completing the ground-floor is a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a cloakroom with a basin and WC.

When sleep calls, a choice of three homely bedrooms rest on the first-floor; bedroom one is a dual aspect eaves room, with a king-size bed and en-suite bath, with a hand-held shower, large walk-in rain shower, basin and WC.

A secret doorway in bedroom one leads into bedroom three, which contains twin beds, making it perfect for children.

Bedroom two is either accessed from the main stairwell, or accessed by taking a steep spiral set of stairs with a rope barrier that are concealed behind the fire in the sitting room, the room is located in the eaves and contains a king-size bed and benefits from a TV and an en-suite walk-in shower, basin and WC.

In the morning, catch the sunrise in the beautiful garden that surrounds the property, and marvel at the small pond and variety of trees and plants.

The garden rises up behind the cottage, and includes a lovely lawned area looking out over a meadow towards the local church where you can take a seat at one of the chairs and take in the morning air.

Be sure to make use of the charcoal barbecue in summer months!

Get ready for the day and explore your local area, the unspoilt village is well placed for walking in the beautiful surrounding Coln Valley, and is close to Chedworth Villa, once one of the grandest Roman villas in the country.

If you’re looking for an indulgent breakfast, make your way to The Old Prison in nearby Northleach for tasty food, and to explore the old prison cells, courtroom and Lloyd-Baker wagons, which date back to the late 1770’s.

The bustling market town of Cirencester is nearby, where you can visit the array of shops along the Market Place and brush up on some history at Corinium Museum which shows impressive Roman artifacts that have been well-preserved.

To indulge in total relaxation, venture over to the regency spa town of Cheltenham where you can enjoy a spot of shopping and finish off your day with a relaxing spa afternoon at Ellenborough Park spa, which is caught between the Cotswolds' highest point and the lush green gallops of Cheltenham's world-famous racecourse, and is an indulgent 15th Century country estate, turned 21st Century luxury retreat.

However you choose to spend your time in the Cotswolds, be sure to make Willow Tree Cottage your base.
