  • "Lounge Settee & Chair now not as comfortable as could be - due to age."

Otherwise could not fault the property.

    Mrs HughesOct 2021

  • "This is a lovely, comfortable cottage in a very quiet location."

There is a pleasant garden to sit in and the lounge and main bedroom are a good size. There are lots of walks to do in the area and plenty of other things to enjoy as well, for example the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Hidcote Manor Garden.

    Mrs WhitlockSep 2021

  • "Fantastic base to visit the central cotswolds."

    Mr SnellingAug 2021

  • "We absolutely loved our stay."

We wanted to sign the book but couldn’t find a pen! Everything was spotless and cosy and we will definitely be coming back to the Cotswolds and Shepherd’s Hay!!! From Holly, Matthew and Milo

    Mrs HughesMay 2021

  • "We had a lovely stay , very comfortable only observation would be that the television is rather small."

    Mrs HannahMay 2021

  • "Excellent Holliday cottage, Sykes were helpful, friendly and a great company to book with."

    Would return again.

    Rev StrideApr 2021

  • "I don't think the photos gave good idea of how lovely the cottage actually is."

Everything exceeded my expectations. A warm welcome by the team, milk in the fridge, mince pies and a fire ready to go, who could ask for more. The garden was a perfect and private haven, the village had only one sound that of clip clop of horses up the road. The rooms are far more spacious than appears in the photo too. I would love to return in June again when I need to return but I fear the price then rises rather.

  • "We have stayed at Shepherd's hey many times and it never disappoints we love it and welcome the new king size bed and mattress."

The old bed was the only thing we would've changed. It's a lovely comfy bed now. The only things we want to mention is the wall next to the kitchen adjoining the village hall has collapsed onto the patio area, you may already be aware of this. On previous visits someone used to come into the garden and put out the wheelie bins when due for collection, but when I went to put rubbish in the bins they were both very full and didn't look as if either had been emptied for a while. I looked in the cottage binder and it said there was a bin day collection chart in the kitchen but I could see it. I couldnt find anymore bin liners mid stay, or black bin liners to put bedding etc in on our last day. I did find an Ikea bag and used that. It's also been our first stay in colder weather and the heating never came on once. Apart from these minor niggles as ever we had a fantastic stay and will be back next year. We love shepherd's hey and it's always spotless. Thank you.

Just idyllic. The cottage itself was just perfect. Had all the facilities to make this a home from home stay. Good powerful shower and comfortable bed. Inglenook fireplace a real feature - just a shame it was too warm to try out - must come back later in the year to try out and cosy up to!

In darkness on the first night (even with a torch) a bit hard to find ;-). The interior is lovely the kitchen well equipped. We stayed in several cottages in different regions during the last years, but never ever had a central heating or a shower like this. Great!

About the location

STANTON

Cheltenham 14 miles; Gloucester 25 miles.

Stanton is arguably one of the prettiest and most idyllic villages in the whole of the Cotswolds, located at the foot of the Shenberrow Hill in the Northern reaches of the Cotswolds. Without doubt it has one of the most stunning high streets in the region with ancient houses dating back to the 16th Century built in typical Cotswolds style with steeply pitched gables, mullioned windows and honey coloured limestone walls. The village also boasts two magnificent manor houses as well as a restored medieval cross and a church dating back to the Norman period.

The village has an Open Gardens Day which normally takes place in June, when the many beautiful gardens can be admired. There is a plethora of lovely walks including the famous Cotswold Way which traverses for 100 miles between Chipping Campden and Bath - that tracks through Stanton.

And for relaxation, the Mount Inn pub stands on a hill at the top of the village with spectacular views across the Vale of Evesham towards the Malvern Hills and Welsh mountains beyond.
