  • "We have been using accommodation similar to this for many years but this was by far the best."

The hospitality was superb…..if only all holidays were as good as this. If you like peace and quiet plus great wildlife then you won’t go wrong here.

  • "The lodge was perfect, can't fault it, quiet, warm, next to a pub that served great food, and in a location where there's plenty to see and do."

The only problem was the lack of adequate recycling facilities. Better instructions as to what we should put in what bins. Although that could be down to the local council I suspect. Otherwise a great place to stay, would thoroughly recommend.

  • "This lodge was exactly as described."

A beautiful setting and a real home from home. The owner, who came to welcome us when we arrived, was lovely and had left a welcome pack which had treats as well as some basics. In fact too much for our needs. It was the hottest week of the year and we really appreciated the fans provided. We would definately recommend for a quiet relaxing break.

  • "Really comfortable cottage."

Owner had very thoughtfully put some welcome goodies in the fridge for us. Lots of great places to see locally. The Defford Arms do beautiful meals which can be enjoyed at home as they offer takeaway service. Will be returning for another holiday in the future and would definitely recommend to others.

The lodge is always clean, comfortable and fully equipped. The hosts provide the best welcome pack of any place we have stayed. It is quiet and relaxing with lots of wildlife to watch from a comfortable veranda. The area is lovely too with lots of walks nearby and places to visit. We will be returning again as we love it.

  • "So pleased we chose Brookside Lodge to visit the surrounding area."

The driveway and gardens are lovely and well maintained. Sue gave us a warm friendly welcome. The welcome pack inside had all the essentials, including a bottle of red and white wine....Great start !! The lodge is spotlessly clean and has everything anyone needs for a very comfortable stay. Well furnished throughout with 2 bathrooms, lots of towels and double beds. Patio doors on lounge gives you a sense of being outdooors when sitting in. After a day out sightseeing, we looked forward to getting back and relax with a glass of wine on the decking when weather allowed. So peaceful with lovely views. The wildlfe was a bonus. Les would feed the badgers each night and watching them along with the foxes (so cute) was our evening entertainment. Also saw deer, squirrels, buzzards and red kite. The Defford Arms is only 150 yards with good choice of drinks, excellent food and great prices. A big thank you to Sue, Les and Neil. They should be very proud of themselves for keeping such high standards.

Peaceful and tranquil for sitting out on the veranda watching the foxes, badgers, deer and other animals whilst sipping a glass or two. Provisions and comfort within the accommodation were second to none.

Fantastic welcome pack. Exceptional accommodation. Everything you could possibly need and more. Really good holiday with lovely views and wildlife. Very short walk to the pub which served exceptional meals all day.

  • "WiFi would be good, many people would be put off by not having a connection."

Lovely accommodation and site. About 300 plates, loads of large catering bowls and far too many glasses. Clearing out cupboards would give more space for food storage, extra mugs and bowls. Removing the glass cabinet would give the dining area more space and the bookcase in the hallway is unnecessary.

Hi Jill, thank you for your feedback. We do not advertise the property as having WiFi as the connection is often poor in the area, we would hate for anyone to be let down if the connection fails. We offer a selection of crockery as we realise a lot of guest like to visit our lodge and enjoy picnics and such events in which we feel the extra crockery would be a plus! Thank you once again. The lodge was well appointed with everything we needed and there was no need to have brought anything. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere and the wildlife (deer, badgers, buzzards and heron). The location was central for visiting the Malvern Hills, Worcester, Croome and Witley Court. Local amenities in Defford included a farm shop and good pub food. All in all, an enjoyable holiday.

They were helpful and knowledgeable regarding the local environment and nearby facilities. Brookside Lodge was very clean, it had a lovely outlook onto the Worcestershire countryside. Very quiet location, friendly atmosphere, lots of extra touches e.g. welcome hamper, numerous towels, plenty of kitchen equipment, a large fan in the main bedroom and parking next to the lodge. During the evening you can see foxes and badgers feeding close by, I also saw deer, and owl, a heron and wildlife near the stream. The booking with yourselves went very smoothly and to plan. I would highly recommend Brookside Lodge - a must visit and a little jewel in Worcestershire. Please note: You may publish my feedback, however I would like the feedback to be anonymous, thank you.

Defford is a small village on the edge of Bredon Hill, in Worcestershire's Heritage Garden, one of the most unspoilt areas of England, famous for its Blossom Trail and locally grown fruit and veg. The elegant market town of Pershore, on the River Avon, is a short drive away, boasting Georgian architecture, a medieval Abbey and many shops, restaurants and traditional inns.
