  • "We had a fabulous week at Spring Cottage."

It's one of the best, if not the best cottage we've ever stayed in and is beautiful throughout and fully equipped. We wanted for nothing and the property manager even left a birthday cake for our son's 9th birthday. The cottage is situated in the picturesque, sleepy village of Ebrington, a stones throw from the famous Ebrington Arms Pub and some fantastic walks. We walked 1.5hrs to the National Trust's Hidcote Manner. The garden was equally great for alfresco dining and the children loved playing in it. It was our first time cooking on an Aga which was lovely too. We're hoping to return in the future and would highly recommend it to others. We couldn't fault the location or the cottage itself.

  • "I stayed in Spring Cottage with my family - wife and 2 kids - it was absolutely perfect."

Exactly as advertised - decorated for the holidays so nicely. It is a great base to explore the area. It was quaint but spacious enough for a family of four. I cannot think of a single thing that was lacking. Would encourage anyone looking to book a stay, you will not regret it.

  • "Our family of five had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this house."

The village is quiet and charming and we found the Ebrington Arms to be one of the better Cotswolds pubs we have eaten at. The house is cosy and we were very comfortable there, thoroughly enjoying a rainy afternoon with a fire and playing a board game.

  • "We enjoyed the cottage enormously and felt very at home."

We loved cooking on the aga, relaxing in the lounge sleeping in comfy beds and enjoying invigorating showers, admiring and sitting in the garden. It had everything we needed (apart from a washing line or clothes airer).. we couldn't have been happier.

  • "It was our fourth time at Spring cottage (we keep counting ;)) and we loved it as we always do."

    Maria-ChristinaApr 2019

  • "The cottage was absolutely beautifully furnished and had everything we could possibly need."

The bedrooms, kitchen and living room in particular felt really luxurious and cosy. The location was perfect being a short drive from a direct train to London from Moreton-in-Marsh and the local pub in the village was excellent.

  • "Excellent, well appointed Cottage in a great location."

Had a lovely short break. Would definitely recommend and will be going again!

  • "The cottage is very cosy, clean and well equipped, and the view out of the windows is lovely."

The location is very quiet - we loved listening to the birds in the mornings. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great during our stay so we didn't make the most of the lovely garden. But we did make the most of AGA, which we have never used before. It really is an added bonus, especially on a rainy day. Overall, we had a lovely stay.

Mastering the Aga was fun and we turned into mini Mary Berry's for the weekend! Would recommend this stunning cottage for anyone wanting to relax, bird watch (the owl in the neighbours garden was amazing) and visit the Ebrington Arms!

  • "Very warm (and delicious) welcome."

Beautiful cottage, everything we needed was there and more ( maybe one more frying pan would be nice). The cleaning team deserves an Oscar. Everything was spotless. We already recommended Character Cottages to our friends and will definitely be back. Thank you very much.

  • "The cottage was beautifully decorated for Christmas, there were biscuits and a cake waiting, and the owner took the trouble to go through the salient points of using an AGA."

The cottage was spotlessly clean with great quality bedding and towels. We had a lovely Christmas and would love to return.

Ebrington is well-known for its award-winning local pub, the Ebrington Arms, as well as its stone and thatched cottages with old farmhouses which give this village its character in the gently folding hills east of Chipping Campden.

Parts of the village church of St Eadburgha date back to the 13th Century and the church features numerous monuments to the Fortescue family, the owners of Ebrington Manor, which itself has a history dating back to the 14th Century.

The village is approximately two miles away from the famous market town of Chipping Campden, with its wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants, with historic sites such as the 17th-century market hall, maintained by the National Trust, and the fascinating art on display at Campden Gallery.

Venture further afield to the medieval market town of Stratford-upon-Avon, famously known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, where you can explore the heritage of the writer's childhood home, discover the period wattle-and-daub at Anne Hathaway's Cottage and no trip would be complete without a visit to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Close by is one of the principal market towns in the North Cotswolds, Moreton-in-Matsh, which is situated on the Fosse Way.

The town was granted its market charter in 1227 and there still is a busy Tuesday market, with about 200 stalls attracting many visitors.

With plenty to see and do on your doorstep, make Spring Cottage your base.

About the location

Chipping Campden 2 miles; Broadway 7 miles; Startford on Avon 12 miles.

Ebrington (or 'Yubberton' as it is locally known) is located approximately half way between Charingworth Manor and the ever popular, and world famous, market town of Chipping Campden, this quiet, charming village is well worth a visit
In fact, it is within easy walking distance of both of the above locations but benefits from a far more relaxed, secluded feel than its glamorous neighbour.
The village has the feel of a stereotypical Cotswolds village, with narrow windy lanes and ‘chocolate box’ thatched cottages, lending themselves to the feeling that you may have inadvertently travelled back in time en route to the village.
Parts of the village church of St Eadburgha date back to the 13th Century. The church features numerous monuments to the Fortescue family, owners of Ebrington Manor, which itself has a history dating back to the 14th Century.
The Ebrington Arms has been serving the village for more than 300 years, and is now one of the most famous pubs in The Cotswolds, and in 2020 was voted The Telegraph's and Sawday's No. 1 UK pub for food.
