Guy was a great host and was very helpful, especially informing us that there were roadworks outside the property and the best way to get into the drive on arrival. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Hideaway."

It was spotlessly clean, cosy, comfortable and nicely placed for local walks. The garden was a lovely place to relax and enjoy after a day out. Eckington was within easy reach of all the places we wanted to visit and we're happy we chose The Hideaway and Eckington for our holiday.

  • "We received a very warm welcome from Guy and Nittaya."

The property was spotlessly clean and very well equipped for self catering. It is in a quite location, the owner has made the property its own private garden which is very sunny all day. There is plenty of information on the area with many footpaths and local walks. Would recommend the property.

  • "Fabulous retreat in the quiet and friendly village of Eckington."

Hosts (Guy and Nattaya) are very welcoming and on hand if needed (but don't intrude at all). Lovely garden, with a newly-created, little fenced area for guests to use (though Guy and Nattaya were kind enough to show us round the main garden and encourage us to use that, too). The cottage was immaculate, and has everything needed for a relaxing, fully-equipped holiday. The listing warned that wi-fi can be patchy; but, with very few occasional and brief blips, we experienced no problems. Trains pass by the end of the garden, but are only noticeable because, otherwise, the only sounds are bird songs! Parking is on local roads -- but we easily found a spot (with Guy's helpful suggestion) just 20 yards or so away, which we had no problem using when we returned each evening from our excursions. This is a fabulous location for days out in the Cotswolds, or simply for hiding away from the world for a chilled, pleasant holiday. Needless to say, we shall be returning. Very highly recommended.

Disappointed to see that you are charging £2750 for seven nights in a chalet in Mundesley where we live. It's kind of tainted our view of Sykes.

a very comfortable clean and cosy home for a relaxing break. lots of interesting market towns to visit and lovely river walks nearby. a very picturesque village with two good pubs and an excellent well stocked village shop. very welcoming owners on site available if needed but not intrusive. with the opening of further restrictions will give even more to enjoy, though our enjoyment was not lessened. definitely a recommended accommodation and one we would have no hesitation in returning to.

The Hideaway was exceptionally clean and well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Our hosts were very welcoming and left us to our own devices, but were available if needed. There are two public houses at Eckington, both serving excellent food, (dined out 3 times!) just a 5 minute walk away. A village shop for papers and everything else, again a very short walk away. There is a train line running at the back of the property, but did not interfere with the delight of the property. I would not hesitate to visit the Hideaway again as we had a lovely holiday!

Although you clearly state parking is on the road, there are double yellow lines on both sides of the road outside the main house, however we did manage to find somewhere to park all week. The property is lovely, very comfortably furnished including new divan beds in the bedroom and the kitchen is extremely well equipped. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful. If you want a quiet and peaceful holiday this is the ideal place to be.
