The property

Pershore 3.5 miles.

Situated in the glorious and peaceful countryside in Elmley Castle near Pershore is The Lodge at Elmley Meadow, a charming cottage attached to the owner's home on a small freeholding, surrounded by fields and boasting views of Bredon Hill.

Resting on the edge of the Cotswolds AONB, this property is perfect for a couple or small group looking for a relaxing rural retreat to the Cotswolds.

Find off-road parking for two cars, and head towards the front entrance, through an enclosed gravel garden with a patio area and furniture, ideal for when you want to fire up the barbecue and dine alfresco, or simply soak up your peaceful surroundings.

Step inside the cottage to find a warm and inviting open-plan living space, boasting calm neutral tones, a lovely seating area, where you can relax beside the woodburning stove with a good book or enjoy a family film night on the Smart TV with DVD Player.

Prepare delicious home-cooked meals in the sleek, well-equipped kitchen, which makes excellent use of the space and provides all the necessary appliances for your self-catering stay, while meals can be enjoyed together at the dining table.

The ground-floor shower room is the ideal place to prepare for each day or get freshened up after a long day of walking and exploring, with a refreshing rinse in the walk-in shower.

When the day is coming to an end, you can choose from the ground-floor super-king-size double bedroom, which can be transformed into a twin if required, or move upstairs to the charming 3/4 double, resting beneath sloping ceilings and boasting a Freeview TV with a single just of to the left at the top of the stairs.

Within the grounds of the owner's home, there is a large enclosed field that you can take advantage of, where dogs can run safely and freely, while the owner thoughtfully provides a welcome pack, which includes gifts for your four-legged friends.

Head out and explore your surroundings on two wheels, as the property rests on a well-known 18-mile cycle route, encompassing Bredon Hill and several idyllic local villages, while a footpath can also be found at the end of the drive, should you prefer to explore by walking.

Elmley Castle village is one of the prettiest in the area, with its main street lined with trees and lots of black and white cottages to admire, boasting a pub within walking distance of the cottage, as well as the earthworks of its 11th century castle, which remain in the nearby deer park.

For a wider range of amenities, Pershore is a short drive away, offering a choice of shops, restaurants and pubs, as well as a magnificent Norman Abbey and impressive Georgian architecture.

Explore the Cotswolds AONB and discover picture perfect villages of Cotswold stone cottages, like Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the Venice of the Cotswolds, and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Enjoy an abundance of fantastic countryside walks and a host of attractions, including the magnificent 20th century gardens at Hidcote, owned by the National Trust, Broadway Tower, designed by Capability Brown, and the 56-acre garden of Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre.

Take a day trip to the spa town of Cheltenham, famous for its horse racing, visit the cathedral city of Worcester and head to Shakespeare's birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon, all within easy reach.

The Lodge at Elmley Meadow is a wonderful relaxing base for a rural Cotswolds getaway.
