  • “There are only 2 of us and this house was perfect for us as lots of reception space without paying for a lot of extra bedrooms we weren't going to use (we usually find we book something that is designed for 8 or more people to get this much living space.”

We really enjoyed the woodburner, long country walks along The Oxfordshire Way and a wonderful local pub. Thank you

The property

The Long Barn is a wondrous property resting within the grounds of the owner’s home (but rest assured that it is completely separate and private), just a couple of miles from the lovely village of Milton-under-Wychwood, in the midst of the beautiful Cotswolds AONB.

Within reach of some quintessentially English towns and villages such as Burford, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Norton and Bourton-on-the-Water, The Long Barn is perfectly suited to two couples or a small family looking for a Cotswold adventure.

Presented and furnished to an exceptional standard, each room evokes grandeur and style with a choice antique furniture and characterful features including exposed beams and apex ceilings.

Find the sitting room to be a wonderfully bright and open space, with windows all around reminiscent of a conservatory, but with plush and neutral décor within; warm yourself in here with the contemporary woodburning stove and spread out on the sofas before the TV.

Delight in hearty breakfasts at the kitchen table beneath the dramatic wooden beams while a picnic is prepared on the worktops, home to a great range of appliances including an AGA range cooker.

For a celebratory meal which requires a more formal setting, proceed to the dining hall, a grand room where an ornate dining table rests atop a vintage rug, with bookcases lining one wall, you will feel as though you’ve been transported back in time in the best way.

Spend summer days with the children in the garden, running on the lawn, or sitting outside to dine alfresco, ending each day watching the colourful skies go dark.

Head to bed in one of the two gorgeous bedrooms, either the king-size room which has a lovely blue-tiled bathroom with both a bath and a walk-in shower, or the twin room where two charming wrought iron single beds provide excellent sleeping spots, and have access to an en-suite shower room.

For evenings when you need a night off from cooking, head to The Hare in Milton-under-Wychwood, a highly regarded restaurant sure to satisfy any taste buds and just under two-miles from the property.

Walkers are guaranteed to fall in love with the miles upon miles of open and rolling countryside, whether you want to map out your own path, or follow one of hundreds of routes and trails readily available, the Cotswolds will provide scenic views and incredible landscapes around every corner.

Visit the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’, Bourton-on-the-Water for a day of boat rides along the River Windrush, exploring the local boutiques and businesses and being amazing by all the animals in the Birdland & Jurassic Journey where over 500 birds and 50 aviaries live.

The Long Barn is a fantastic property catering to all your needs for a wonderful break in the Cotswolds.
