The property

A lovely detached cottage, superbly located on the banks of the River Wye in the pretty village of Symonds Yat, in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

Very traditional and comfortably furnished throughout, this cottage provides ample accommodation ideal for a get-together in an unspoilt part of the country.

Retaining many original features, this charming cottage has four lovely bedrooms.

There is a triple on the ground floor with a shower room next door, and three spacious first floor bedrooms, the master double benefitting from an en-suite shower room.

The traditional farmhouse-style kitchen has a Rayburn and a dining area, whilst a separate dining room boasts a dining table to seat six but can be extended to seat up to 8, perfect for that celebratory dinner or lazy Sunday lunch.

The cosy sitting room in this Symonds Yat cottage has a warming woodburning stove, ideal for relaxing after enjoying the many activities on offer in the area.

Outside is a front garden with lawned area, patio and seating, all overlooking the River Wye and Symonds Yat Rock above.

Fishing and boating can be enjoyed from the garden of your Symonds Yat cottage, and if you venture away from the property, this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty has something for everyone.

Many outdoor activities are available including cycling, walking, horse riding, high wire rope course and fishing, and the pretty riverside towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth offer individual shops, restaurants and traditional pubs, as well as lovely riverside walks.

A little further afield, enjoy the towns of Gloucester, Chepstow and Cheltenham, as well as the beautiful Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park.

Monmouth 5 miles; Ross-on-Wye 7 miles; Gloucester 23 miles.

The pretty village of Symonds Yat straddles the beautiful River Wye with its natural scenery and magnificent limestone 'rock', popular with climbers and is internationally renowned for its viewpoint. Symonds Yat West is situated overlooking the beautiful Wye Valley, and is close to the magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest. This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering numerous trails that can be explored on foot, bicycle or horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are on offer for the more adventurous, whilst fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this unspoilt area. Visit the historic town of Monmouth with its mixture of elegant Georgian mansions and Victorian courtyards, or the lovely town of Ross-on-Wye with its timbered Tudor houses and delightful riverside walks, both offering excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. Just a little further afield discover the unspoilt Malvern Hills, Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park. A great area to unwind with family and friends.
