  • "Homestead is an excellent cottage."

We relocated there after foolishly booking a cheaper local Air BnB, which was borderline uninhabitable - a lesson harshly learned. Homestead, by comparison was clean, cosy, welcoming and very well equipped. The bathroom is a triumph and the bed is large and comfortable. Good location for Stratford and The Cotswold highlights. Parking opposite the pub is no problem and the petrol station shop has essentials if you fogey anything - Waitrose is 10 minutes up the road too. Good value for money and highly recommended.

  • "Homestead Cottage is a cosy, well-equipped cottage for 2 in a great location for visiting the many attractions (especially National Trust properties) in the area."

We didn't bother taking the car right up to the cottage to unload as the road can be quite busy to reverse out on but we didn't have any problem parking just along the road and wheeling the bags from there. We definitely would stay there again.

Thank you so much for your positive comments. We loved having you as our guests and look forward to welcoming you again. Kind regards, Charlie Property Owner

If you are tempted to have a bath, I suggest your taller than 5ft 2”!!! and it take a while to fill as it’s so big. We had a lovely weekend chilling. Thank you Jude X

The owners were very welcoming and helpful when I locked us out of the cottage. The parking is a slight inconvenience but you are aware of this when you book and I didn't have any problems with the arrangements. All in all a beautiful cottage.

  • "A perfect cottage for a couple or a single wanting to have some quiet time."

We stayed on the three days of xmas and arrived to a bottle of fizz and some sweet little decorations. We'd bought some more and so it all got very cosy and jolly. Weather was against us but we toured a bit and can see there is lots to do in the season. Also a small patio for eating outside. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Nice atmosphere and we would return should we be that way. Julia & Bill, London

  • "Homestead Cottage was simply lovely and the owners Foss and Charlie were friendly and helpful."

Everything we needed was available inside the cottage and the bottle of proseco was very welcome on arrival. The position of the cottage in Halford was very good for exploring the area. It was central to everywhere we wanted to see. The pub across the road was welcoming and had a great range of food and drink. Would definitely recommend this holiday cottage to anyone wishing for a beautiful relaxing holiday with easy access to the lovely area. Thank you to the owners for their hard work.

Thank you very much for your feedback. It's really lovely to know we're getting things right. We hope you will come and stay with us again. Best wishes Charlie and Foss Property Owner

  • "Homestead Cottage is a very nice and clean cottage, unfortunatley there was not welcome pack of Bread or Milk on arrival just to get us started after a long journey, plus it isn't stated in the listing that the owner has control of the central Heating, the listing just states it is oil fired central Heating, we feel that should be made clear to the customer renting the cottage as you cant dictate when you are going to be cold or when you require the heating on."

Thank you for your feedback which we have noted. We will rethink our welcome pack. With regard to the heating, this is something that is difficult to change, but we note your comments. We do ensure that the heating is on throughout the day from 7am to 11pm and there is a thermostat available in the cottage for guests to alter the temperature. There is also an electric fire downstairs for additional heating. I will ask Sykes to make this more clear in the description. We try to make ourselves available to our guests at all times if they need to contact us about any problems they may encounter and we are happy to help. Property Owner

  • "Excellent cottage."

Perfect location for visiting Cotswolds as only 8 miles from both Moreton-in Marsh and Stratford. Garage only 2 mins walk has newspapers and essentials. Supermarkets were a short journey away. Cottage was warm and cosy. Bed and sofas were comfortable and the overall fixtures and fittings were good quality. Rooms, especially bathroom was a lot larger than expected and the kitchen area was sufficient for cooking meals. Sitting out area would be pleasant in the warmer months although it would not get the afternoon sun. Parking was not an issue and we were able to unload and load outside the door of the cottage. The owners were available if needed (we didn't) and were kind enough to leave a bottle of water outside the door when the water company turned off the water unexpectedly. Would highly recommend and revisit.
