Such a cozy place with lots of nice natural light, beautiful furnishings and welcoming touches. It truly was the perfect place for the country getaway we had been needing! Thanks so much for having us!

  • "Fantastic cottage with all the amenities you could want or need for a trip away."

Very comfortable and the perfect location for a weekend with friends.

  • "After months of lockdown/not going anywhere, to get away and arrive at such a quaint, peaceful, idyllic 'Star' cottage has been a blessing."

So well equipped (we noticed all the final details for 2 and 4 legged visitors), attractively furnished, and clean- this was appreciated/needed at any time but especially now re Covid-19. The thick walls gave respite from the excessive heat this week. Thank you. We will be back.

  • "Here's goodbye to a most wonderful staycation."

Star cottage is truly satisfying, bringing comfort and delight to both adults and children. We're amazed at how well equipped the cottage is from the very basic to the high spec equipment. So tastefully decorated, a picture perfect cottage indeed. We've loved every minute of our stay and exploration of the front and back gardens. Truly 'a home away from home'! Thank you so very much!

  • "Star cottage was a delightful find with simply everything you'd need for a weekend away or several weeks!"

Many lovely touches from the fabulously well-equipped kitchen, sumptuous beds, luxury bathroom and really comfortable lounge with smart TV, DVD's and a plethora of books for every interest. As the village has a pub once your day touring the strikingly attractive villages of the Cotswolds you can get a good meal and a beer then chill out back at the cottage in the gardens before curling up with a good book or binging on your TV favourites. The village has some fabulous walks for the dog and family with great vistas from the hill behind the village over the surrounding countryside.

  • "The perfect holiday cottage; everything is beautiful and so comfortable."

Everything has been thought of and it was so good to have a well equipped kitchen. We have enjoyed our stay at Star cottage; it has been easy to get around the Cotswolds and Oxford was an easy drive for a day out. Sunday dinner at the Red Lion in the village is recommended! We have had a relaxing time here and would love to return to Star cottage. Thank you!

Without a doubt this little charmer exceeded all of our expectations. We don’t want to leave!!! The little touches and lots of love that you have provided shows! • "Star Cottage was perfect in every way, it’s location couldn’t have been better but best of all it was like home."

It offered everything you could possibly need for a long weekend away with friends. Two beautiful bedrooms perfect for two couples (and not always easy to find) bathroom and shower room, spacious longe with all home comforts, and everything supplied whether you were wanting to cook or a great information folder for all local hostelries, restaurants and takeaways.. Best of all for us the dog was welcome too!

  • "We had a wonderful week in Star Cottage."

What a delight it was from first arrival in the lovely front garden. Star Cottage is located in a pretty quiet village but ideally located for lovely local walks and visits to the many pretty villages and towns in the Cotswolds. We had many great walks, thanks to the literature and books left in the cottage. The cottage itself is so pretty and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need, a real home from home, and we enjoyed spending afternoons enjoying the sunshine out in the very quiet rear garden enjoying the bird song and the sound of the fountain. I would thoroughly recommend Star Cottage to anyone wanting to stay in and around the Cotswolds.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in your cottage immensely, finding it most comfortable and cosy."

I was most intrigued by all the numerous BAFTA nominated films, although in the end we had no time to watch any of them! Thank you for your recommendations – we ate at the Red Lion, the Bower House (fab!) and the Plough at Kingham (lovely Sunday lunch) amongst others. Dogs have had their paws walked off this week! Also, the blue tits have been very busy in the bird box in the back garden and we have enjoyed seeing them come and go.

We had forgotten that there are peaceful and quiet places to stay in this country. We thank you for making your home comfortable and for your detailed instructions and guidance for the many interesting places to visit. We hope that we may be able to return one day.

  • "What a beautiful, relaxing cottage!"

After a busy day exploring the countryside, it was so nice to return here, to sip the wine you left us (many thanks) and relax in front of the fire. This cottage has everything you need and the information in the white files was very useful. Many thanks for making this available for us to stay.

  • "A wonderful stay in this lovely cottage."

We had everything we needed and it was always lovely and warm! We ate at the Red Lion and the Greedy Goose and both were very good. We visited Stratford and the British Motor Museum, which was fantastic. The weather was excellent and we took advantage of it to have some lovely drives through the towns and villages.

  • "Like many guests before us, we wish we were staying longer!"

We have fully appreciated the comfortable and cosy cottage, the furnishings including the fabulous beds, which are first class. The location in a small quiet village is perfect and the walks from the cottage with our dog were very enjoyable. We also enjoyed the Red Lion down the road, although our favourite, an exceptionally dog-friendly pub, was the Red Lion at Long Compton. A most refreshing week. Thank you for the obvious thought put into the cottage and the excellent facilities. P.s. Best WiFi signal we’ve ever experienced, especially in a country location!

  • "We have had a truly wonderful few days in Star Cottage, following our wedding on Friday 22nd March."

The ‘Just Married’ bunting and champagne was such a thoughtful touch and made our stay even more special. The cottage is beautifully homey, relaxing and the garden is truly wonderful. We enjoyed drinking champagne in the sunshine. The food at the Red Lion was exceptional and the staff super-friendly. Highly recommend to anyone staying here! Star Cottage will hold a special place in our hearts and we look forward to returning.

We have so enjoyed our time here, relaxing, reading, sketching and going for super walks. We had a lovely meal at the Greedy Goose this time and ventured off to some local National Trust places. The cottage simply gives you a hug! Thank you for the wine, biscuits and welcome. We shall indeed endeavour to return again in the summer/autumn time.

  • "We had a wonderful week in lovely Star Cottage."

We enjoyed every minute of it. Clouds, light snow, sunshine, showers, wind, - we had everything and I never in my life saw so much mud! The cottage is great, as are the books and films. One week is definitely too short. We’ll come back, but we can’t book yet since we don’t know how pet travel regulation will be post-Brexit! Let’s hope for the best. Thank you for everything!

  • "Many thanks for the use of beautiful Star Cottage."

We have had a lovely festive weekend! The cottage is one of the nicest we have ever stayed in (we have stayed in a lot!), well equipped, comfortable and stylish and in a lovely village. We attended the Carol Service at St Denys’ on Sunday evening and it was one of the highlights of our weekend. We were welcomed warmly and really felt a part of the community. The church looked magical, we shall remember it always. We wished we had some extra days to stay – it has been so relaxing. Merry Christmas and all good wishes. P.s. Thank you for the wine and cookies... much appreciated.

It’s a really nice place! We have explored the Cotswolds for the first time and it’s a wonderful, scenic region in England. Just like an episode of Miss Marple! We have visited Chipping Campden, the Slaughters, Bourton-on-the-Water and dined at the Red Lion and Daylesford. The weather has been perfect – sunny and dry, which we think is extraordinary for Britain and Northern Europe.

We just loved the village too. The cottage had all the essentials and more and was soooo cute. It was clean and met all our needs and then some. The Red Lion Inn was almost next door where we met friends for a lovely meal. We would highly recommend Star Cottage and hope we have the good fortune to stay again sometime! Judith

  • "Star Cottage was incredible."

Very clean, very well equipped, extremely comfortable - the cottage just enveloped us! The front and back gardens were perfect for chilling out in, helped by our luck of having the most perfect weather for alfresco eating so no meals were eaten indoors at all throughout our long weekend. We all loved it.

So many lovely homey touches, definitely one of the best equipped and most comfortable cottages we’ve ever stayed in (and there have been many!). This is a charming bolt hole which is obviously very much loved and appreciated both by its owners and by those lucky enough to have visited. Star Cottage has a wonderful atmosphere which I think is a reflection of this appreciation and enjoyment - it really is a special place. This property is also in a great location for exploring the area. This dog friendly cottage is both relaxing and of a standard you would wish for for a wonderful and relaxing break in the Cotswolds. Thank you both for a most enjoyable stay! Laura Beaton
