    E. THE TURN OFF FOR BREAM RD IS ONLY 100 YARDS NOT TWO, AND THE PROPERTY IS QUITE A WAY UP ON THE RIGHT, APART FROM THAT THE PROPERTY IS AS DESCRIBED. WE REALLY ENJOYED OUT STAY.

  • "What a brilliant find!"

Very well appointed for exploring the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside (you do need a car). Parking right next to the cottage for one car and access to the beautiful multi stepped garden was perfect for our doggy to explore. A lovely forest walk nearby was also a great place to take her for a walk (no paths so a little bit dicey walking on the side of the road). The cottage itself is furnished to an extremely high standard and is extremely comfortable. Two good sized rooms with very comfortable beds and pillows. Open plan dining room and kitchen was very stylish and kitchen was the best equipped self catering kitchen I’ve ever been to! You would easily be able to make simple meals here without any hassle. Bathroom quite small but nicely done, electric shower ok and plenty of hot water. Lovely veranda looking out on stunning views, a great place to have your morning cuppa! Would definitely come back, thank you!

Very many thanks for your wonderful feedback we really appreciate you taking the time, and it means a great deal to Doug and I. its good to know we are on the right track. We look forward to welcoming you back to the beautiful Forest of Dean and Highbury Coach House. Property Owner

Live the decor! It has everything you need and more! The kitchen is fabulous we cooked full meals everyday for 2 weeks for 4 it's so easy to work in and has so much space and so well equipped. There seemed so much space for four of us. We never seemed to be on top of each other. It was great as insude it was all on one leval for my elderly relatives to get around. There are so many walks around the area and Lydney has plenty of open spaces. Grounds of property are stunning and owners are extremely friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous time and very relaxing. Our hosts were absolutely lovely, nothing was too much trouble and our crazy Labrador, Magic, was made most welcome. The facilities are top notch and the apartment extremely well equipped. Lydney is well placed for exploration of the Forest of Dean and has everything you could need if you don’t want to travel far. The gardens are beautiful, accessible by a series of steps and slopes but it’s all good exercise!

Walk back is all up hill but fine if reasonable fit. Excellent base for forest of Dean, Wye valley and cotswolds. The grooms was fine for 3 of us, we ate out but the kitchen new and nicely done though limited pans. Clean and comfortable with beautiful views.

  • "We stayed at the Grooms for a week and we absolutely loved it!"

The property is accessed from the front at ground level, and the private balcony at the back overlooks the hillside, forest and even has the local steam train running by a few days a week. The property itself was immaculate and really comfortable. The owners have put so much thought into making sure guests have everything they need during their stay. There’s a tesco just at the end of the road which was great for food shopping, the roadside is busy and there isn’t really a footpath for some part which made it a bit tricky for walking into town / taking the dog for a walk (not the owners fault but something to bear in mind if you prefer to go places on foot). It was a great base for us for our week to explore the area. There’s a train station in the town (need to drive to it but then it was free parking) which is great for going further afield without the hassle of driving. Elaine (one of the owners) was lovely to talk to and in no way intrusive; as soon as we mentioned that we were on our honeymoon she left us a lovely surprise gift on our return one day. We’d highly recommend it and would definitely love to return again in the future.

Thank you very much for your feedback, it was a pleasure having you and your husband stay with us. Property Owner
