A lot of thought and care had clearly gone into the conversion of the building. It was very well equipped , we were particularly pleased by the private balcony and the excellent gardens. Parking was very convenient and Doug and Elaine were very welcoming. Lydney was a perfect place for exploring the area. We would certainly recommend the Harbour and Taurus Arts Centre.

Really unusual to have very comfy recliners and cosy beds in a holiday accommodation, sooo nice. We both needed a break and couldn’t have asked for more. Came home feeling very refreshed. One thing we’d like to recommend are a few more gates for guests with dogs, esp at end of tack room balcony as we couldn’t leave the door open! Apart from that it was better than a week abroad. Thank you sooooo much. Hope to see you again next year x Bev, Ian and the dogs x

The double bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfortable (think it must be pretty new). Fantastic view from the twin bedroom and the back patio. There is a beautiful shared garden with lots of features (NB take note of the listing's warning about unfenced ponds if you have children). Fabulous location with Lydney centre (and the A road to Chepstow) only half a mile down the road, so easy to reach local sights and supermarket. And if you want a nice meal we have to recommend the Miners Arms only 3 miles away in Whitecroft.

It was the perfect location in which to relax and unwind and to enjoy having my grand-daughters stay in the twin bed room during half term. A well presented and well laid out property with all amenities, and with the owners just a stones throw away. Elaine & Doug very kindly provided a welcome pack of goodies on arrival, and there were certainly plenty of board games in the property to keep the little ones amused, as well as a lovely garden to explore too. A perfect location in which to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Forest of Dean, and a lovely cozy home to come back to in the evenings. Just a 10 minute walk from the town center of Lydney, and in close proximity to the supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

...listing stated that property had a DVD Player and a selection of DVD's - this was not the case and I subsequently had to purchase a DVD Player.. this cost me £30.00!! Also for some reason my son had a 13.5 tog rated duvet on his bed far to warm for summer use.... Overall though the property was nicely furnished, clean and with all the essential facilities... just need to amend listing to remove availability of a DVD Player!!! I would certainly consider a return visit..

Apartment was lovely, gardens are amazing and the views breathtaking. The owners are terrific people very friendly and approachable and we felt like we had known them for years. The whole experience for us was peaceful and tranquil, relaxing and recharging of ones batteries. We would recommend staying here to anyone who loves nature, as the Forest Of Dean is all around. Shops and amenities are literally minuets away (by car) During our stay we visited Go Ape (adult kids went on the Segways, dogs fully worn out walking around the forest) Taurus Crafts (unfortunately quite a few of the little shops on their site were closed, i can only presume due to covid which was a shame, but we were still able to wander about window shopping this is dog friendly too) Dean Forest Railway was brilliant again dog friendly, museum and gift shop, the train rides are nice as it takes you into the forests which we enjoyed. If you like steam trains then this is for you, i would book well well in advance as when we tried on the day we arrived (to apartment, as you can see the steam from here and hear the sounds) it was fully booked, maybe due to covid and social distancing i'm not sure, but we went on the diesel train which we were happy with. Bathurst Park is dog friendly one side and small human friendly the other, our two loved it. The gardens are impeccably done, everywhere is clean and tidy, our adult kids rode their bikes around while the tired out doggos relaxed and recovered. There is a cafe on site too. All in all if your looking for a peaceful getaway/holiday where you cater for yourself and do as little or as much as you want, then Highbury Coach House is for you. We would stay there again as it suited us so well. 10/10 and 5* across the board from us and the dogs xx
