Hope Mansell is set in a very secluded green valley on the edge of the Forest of Dean.

It is sheltered by hills to the south, east and west by the high ground of Wigpool, Lea Bailey and Howle Hill.

The village of Hope is mentioned in the Domesday Book and borders the wonderful Wye Valley, enjoying views towards the Royal Forest of Dean.
