  • "The house was all we had hoped for and more."

Just as if the owners had left and we moved in. Plenty of games to play, we used the hot tub, the croquet and other garden games. Kitchen a bit small if cooking etc for a large family, the two sitting rooms were very useful. The Piano was used but slightly out of tune but fun anyway. The long dining table in the kitchen area was a great boon, we ate every meal there. The weather was so good that the TV's were hardly used. I said I would not book again , not because anything was wrong but I am 72 and my prosthetic leg was playing up, it was a big family get together for my wife's 70th birthday so the old man had to put up with it. Parking for 4 cars was a bonus.

  • "A great home for a family get-together with lots of space for everyone."

We had one child quietly reading in one room, with others playing next door and adults having a chat in another room - the recipe for a great holiday! It was good to be able to stroll to the pool, playground or cinema (all were put to good use during our week). But the best thing was that all of us, young and old, had a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable week.

The owner was extremely helpful pre-stay and the house is well equipped. We had a fabulous week there and highly recommend it.

  • "The house was so comfortable, spacious and airy."

The kitchen was so well equipped with so much cutlery and crockery. We felt so relaxed in the property. Its situation was excellent and we felt we could all move happily to Wotton-under-Edge! Thank you for helping our family enjoy such a wonderful celebration.

  • "The House was easy to find and perfectly located so that once cars were parked on arrival, everything was so accessible that cars were not used throughout our stay; walks from the House are extensive."

The House itself is absolutely beautiful; warm and cosy, and the atmosphere so relaxing. The beds were comfortable and the bedding good quality, the towels were soft and the hot water plentiful, the bathrooms were warm. The House was so well maintained. The hot tub was an added bonus, with mood lighting and twinkling lights as darkness falls. We were a group of 9 friends and each of us agreed we would return. It was perfect in every way.

It would be hard to think of a better location, we could just to walk into the town centre for a meal and it was unexpectedly quiet for such a central situation.

  • "We rented Chipping House for a very special Christmas celebration as 4 generations from all over the UK , America and Australia were together."

We were not disappointed. The house has a very family friendly feel to it. We had 14 people staying most of the time and we never felt on top of one another. There are plenty of rooms and space. Location was excellent - plenty of pubs, café and convenience stores on hand without driving. There was a supply of basics such as salt/pepper, cling film, products etc which was nice as some places we have rented in the past had nothing. The owners gave a thorough guide to the home before we arrived and there was certainly plenty of information on hand at the house. Everything about our stay was perfect for a family Christmas - the cosy feel on arrival, the real Christmas tree and the endless supply of logs for the log burner. We have all come away with many happy memories.

There was everything for the children, indoors and out and this was hugely responsible for the success of the stay. There were also amazing facilities for the older ones. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. It felt like a home, which of course it is.

  • "The property was beautiful but not intimidating - we all agreed that we felt at home straight away."

It didn't feel like a rented property and there were some lovely personal touches, Christmas decorations, plenty of logs for the woodburners, bottles of ketchup, maps etc! We loved the little town, everyone was particularly friendly and helpful and the many walks from the door across the decidedly waterlogged fields were really enjoyable. A perfect holiday!

  • "We were a party of ten adults and 2 young children."

We agreed that we could not fault Chipping House. The location, the accommodation, the provision of kitchenware, glassware etc, were excellent. The children (and adults) made great use of the 'playroom' with all the games and toys they found there. The added touches of hair driers in rooms, clear instructions and directions for use of facilities all made Chipping House an ideal destination for our gathering. The owner was most welcoming and accommodating of the needs of our party. We would not hesitate to recommend it to friends.

It was very well equipped for all ages and it really felt like a 'home' for the weekend we were there. We loved the fact that it was so near the town centre so we could just wander round the shops, and there are some really nice short walks. The pre-Christmas weekend was a great success with all members of the family and we're already thinking of coming back next year!

In all, two grandparents, two adult couples, three teenagers and a young lady of 8. This meant the diversity of the property was spot on. The general quality of accommodation was excellent and the owner was very helpful. Being set in the town itself only added to the whole ambience and convenience. It is very difficult to fault much about a large house in a perfect location for our needs. Thank you.

We had a fantastic family gathering of our children and grandchildren from around the world and everyone felt at home as soon as we walked in. We were overwhelmed by the calibre of the toys - something for everyone - sandpit, slide, paddling pool and a lovely dolls house. All the cooks in the family loved the kitchen, much better equipped than most rented ones we have used. We were a bit unsure of booking somewhere in a town, but actually it was ideal for a gathering such as ours. The owner could not have been more helpful. And then God sent the sunshine - life does not get much better. The children wanted us to buy the house!!
