"Great cottage and location especially for the children (4 and 8)."
They loved feeding the animals everyday, the adventure playground in the forest was excellent and the pool was great. Would definitely return. Have had a great holiday.

"Parlour was absolutely stunning, with very friendly and accommodating owners."
Everything we needed available in the cottage. The kids play area for the cottages was new and the kids really enjoyed being in there. The farm and walks through the woods are amazing and the well looked after animals are friendly and love being fed. We took three kids under 10, and were happy for them to roam around and play with friends they met there safely. The pool on site was a very welcome addition as it was 30+ degrees the week that we stayed! We would highly recommend to anybody that asked and we will book again in the future.

"We arranged this booking very late in the day and we were not sure how suitable it would be for 5 of us."
However it was just perfect for a few days. The steps up to the top bedrooms were a bit steep for our youngest child but the downstairs bedroom helped us there. There was just enough in the kitchen for the 5 of us. The big fridge was a unexpected benefit. The cottage is set in lovely grounds, which in different circumstances we could have spent a long time exploring. The weather was not the bestbt we enjoyed long walks every day.

"The Parlour provides a great location for a short break with children."
There are several attractions a short drive away, the most enjoyable of which we found to be Cotswold Wildlife Park. The site itself kept our children outside and occupied (4,7,9 yr old). The accommodation is basic but fine. Our sole reason for choosing the Parlour was the on site swimming pool that you can hire individually as we have 3 very nervous swimmers, disappointingly this was out of action throughout our stay which changed our holiday somewhat sadly. Despite not meeting the hosts in person they were readily available via text and very friendly and helpful. Due to the open layout of our accommodation it is probably more suitable if you only have 2 young children as we were unable to socialise once the kids had gone to bed. A beautiful part of the country to explore we will definitely be visiting the cotswolds again.

"We had a fabulous time."
Great facilities and friendly owners. Super for children. Lots of varied play equipment and friendly animals to feed plus a little lake to go out on. Cottage was as described. Stairs very steep but our two young children were fine. Pool was a great addition. A little chilly but our 4 year old stayed in for about 30 mins and loved it.
Great location. Lots to do on the doorstep. I would recommend it to anyone who's children love to be outdoors and have freedom to explore.

"I’m afraid the listing did not accurately describe the cottage."
I travel extensively and routinely use search engines to find places to stay for 2-6people at a time. I have never had a bedroom described as one, unless it has a door. In the case of this listing to be accurate it should be described as one bedroom with twin beds and two mezzanine / lofts one with a double and the other a single bed.
I travelled with my 3 children 1 teenager and 2 pre-teens, the lack of privacy for everyone was disappointing.
I found the stairs to these ‘rooms’ steep and would suggest warning guests that they are steep with open treads. My children are older but if I had younger children with the open treads I doubt this would be a pleasant stay.
I was very surprised to find the shower described as such. When we arrived it was a bath with a shower head and there were strict instructions that it was for washing hair only. The bath was lovely and deep but it was irritating with 1 teen and 2 pre teens not to have a proper shower.
Outside the door there is no division between the cottage and the playground. This is unusual and a little disconcerting as a stream of families went past on Saturday morning again a lack of privacy.
There are no recycling facilities onsite just a large bin.
The listing company does not release details of the owners to make contact until after the final deposit has been made. This was mildly frustrating as I would have emailed certain questions prior to visiting.
Had I known all of the above I would have not booked or cancelled the booking taking the hit on the deposit. I did not contact the owners during our stay as we had been informed that it was busy and we were only staying 2 nights. I may have done so if we had been staying longer to see if there were any alternatives.
The farm itself is pleasant, the animals lovely and friendly and the pool was described as the best bit by all of my children. We stayed for a weekend as a family break however we won’t be back.

"We really enjoyed our stay."
The farm and all the different areas for children to play were really good. The boating lake was hilarious fun. Having the swimming pool to ourselves was good value at £5.
The only downside was lack of storages in the cottage. A couple of shelves in the bathroom and a few more draws would have really helped. Otherwise it was well equipped in the kitchen and our hosts were lovely people and most welcoming. Thanks for a great time.

"Fantastic find in the Cotswolds."
Amazing outdoor space for children, filled with friendly farm animals and lots of little touches that made this an amazing stay. The pool was a little chilly but the children still swam in it. The woodland area with wild deer was such a lovely addition as was the boating lake. We will definitely return.

"Unfortunately we had no heating in our property for two nights plus the advertised heated swimming pool was freezing cold and very dirty."
The property itself is in need of maintenance considering it was the beginning of the holiday season it was sadly very badly kept and in need of some TLC. After complaining to the owners regarding the heating we were given a small heater which as we were staying in a stone built property did not keep us warm at all enough said !!!
Thank you very much for your comments and for taking the time to let us know your thoughts. I understand we have contacted you directly in regards to the feedback and the property owner has addressed the issues in order to maintain our property standards.

"We loved our stay at Riverwood, in spite of the dreadful weather."
We stayed in Parlour which was comfortable and homely. The farm and the animals provided hours of entertainment for us and our six-year old, and the owners were often around to answer questions. We fed the animals (twice!) daily and enjoying watching the number of newborn lambs grow day by day. We enjoyed the play areas and the boat and lake. We used the pool a bit but our little boy declared it too cold - he says this about most pools though and others seemed to be enjoying it with no problem! All in all a lovely stay.

"We had a great Christmas break in the Parlour at Lechlade Manor Farm."
We needed to be near enough to our Mum who is ill in a nursing home and ended up booking rather late. I was a bit worried because previous reviews described the facilities as 'basic', but needn't have worried, as I think what reviewers really meant was, a bit low on basic supplies. As long as you are happy to go out and stock up on tea/coffee/soap/washing up liquid etc, you will be absolutely fine - there is a co-op just down the road. The cottage was a bit hard to locate after dark - the private road is easily missed or confused with one next door and it took us a while to find reception, parking space and the cottage in the dark.
The cottage was adorable - full of character, warm, with nice furnishings, and enough kitchen/dining equipment to cook a Christmas dinner. There are two mezzanine bedrooms under eaves upstairs (one double bed, the other single), separated by curtains from the main part of the cottage, and a twin bedroom with a door downstairs. There is plenty of light from windows to the main parts of the cottage, although not to the upstairs bedrooms. There are farm animals to meet, and a very friendly black cat whom we were very tempted to take away with us in our suitcase. Lechlade is a great centre for exploration, with lots to see in surrounding areas of Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. There is a fine church to visit, and we did a lovely walk along the riverbank, and then pub lunch at the Trout inn by the river. Oxford is a 45 minute drive away, Cirencester 30 minutes. Already considering coming back at Easter.
