  • "The Diary had everything we needed for a week away with 2 teenagers."

Having animals to visit, lots of space to kick a ball about and a pool that was exclusively ours when we used it meant it was easy to entice them off the internet (which helpfully had a poor connection). They loved been able to have their own space with a loft room each, not a luxury we usually have but this accommodation was fairly priced.

  • "Property was basic but adequate, some extra items in the kitchen wouldn't go amiss."

Location is good with a short walk into the town which has several pubs and restaurants. Layout of the dairy was good making best use of the space and excitement for little one. The grounds ,(if a little run down) provide some entertainment for families, animals made the Children smile as did the pond and row boat. The weather was not great when we went but I am sure families would make good use of the pond and outdoor BBQ area in the summer. Biggest bugbear was the reluctance of host to communicate or engage with guests. An array of homemade laminated notices were found to guide visitors through their stay, information was not presented clearly or concisely. We never saw/found the host and the one message we sent them went unanswered. I believe if the host had made contact with/interacted with guests then feedback would be helpful and the venue improved greatly with a few minor changes. The lack of communication was reflected in poor cleanliness and un-repaired damage that could be found. Remaining discarded items from previous guests were a tell tale sign that property had not been cleaned thoroughly as were the cob webs and dust. Overall I would recommend the property to other guests, just needs a few improvements and better communications.

  • "This is the perfect family retreat and far exceeded our expectations."

The farm, and cottage, have a rustic, beautiful, country feel - perfect if you want to escape the busy life and relax. The facilities for children are well thought out. The photos on the website certainly don’t do it justice. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely return!

..very safe for our three children aged 3,5 and 7...plenty to do on site and in the surrounding area. Very relaxing enjoyable stay...have come home ready to take on the school holidays! Many thanks to all concerned

  • "This is the second time we’ve come back, and we would definitely come back again."

It’s close enough from London, a true cottage experience, making fire, sitting outside. Woodland area for works, playground for kids. A swing would be amazing for little ones. The animals were a great touch as was the trampoline. Cotswold wildlife park was close by, so we had a blast there too.

  • "This cottage was a delight to stay in."

Every day we visited the variety of farm animals and fed the horses and donkeys apples and carrots which was the highlight of the children's stay. The children also enjoyed the trampolines, woodland area and toasting marshmallows on the fire. There were a number of pubs/inns in the village where we had dinner each evening and each day we visited a local attraction. There is certainly plenty to do in the local area. The hosts and local residents are very friendly. The only minor criticism is the lack of privacy in the upstairs bedrooms as there were no curtains as described in the advert, being a family group this wasn't a problem for us however it may be for other groups. We loved our stay and hope to return.

  • "This was our second time at this location, but in a bigger cottage and we weren't sure if going back to the same place was a good idea or not, but we absolutely loved it."

Amazing farm location with so much to do for the children and a cosy cottage with all the essentials needed for a relaxing holiday. We'll be back :-)

  • "Having paid to hire swimming pool 5 times(we were also here earlier in the year) we have actually been able to use it once, the same excuses were trotted out this time as in the spring."

The hot tub does not exist. The accommodation itself is grubby, the toilet is filthy, the kitchen sink would not drain and the living room furniture needs to be replaced. When we were there in the spring we were disappointed in the rental but were told it was all to be refurbished by new staff which is why we booked again, none of the changes have taken place including the outdoor play area which looks like they’ve just given up. Nice people but we won’t be back and you really should re-inspect, the images on the website are misleading

  • "We had a great holiday staying in the Dairy cottage, the accommodation is simple but adequate for a family, (a larger fridge would have been great) the farm is in great surroundings, with so much open space for children to run around in and lots of children's play equipment and the swimming pool was an added bonus."

  • "Property is very run down looking, not like in the pictures."

No flowers, grass not cut, weeds growing wild and a dead tree in the middle of the courtyard! . The animal's seem to have been forgotten, especially the chicken. There was no welcome pack as is expected in most self catering accommodation. The cottage itself was ok, despite the ant/wasp issue. No battries in the tv romote. There was very little toilet roll/ handsoap on arrival which meant we had to go out straight away to buy essentials. Overall we were Very disappointed with the property as it looks good in the pictures which seem to have been taken a few years ago. The property would need some mantianance and also a warm welcome on arrival would be better than collecting a key from the reception without a recpitionist!!(wooden hut). I would not return here and I definitely could not recommended this property to any of my friends. Shane co Tyrone.

  • "This is an amazing place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone."

Our group ranged between 2 and 74 and we all loved it, from the style of the property to the animals, swimming pool and the woodland play area. The trampoline was a particular favourite for our youngest. We wondered if the stairs would be an issue with our 2 year old being a dedicated climber but she completely ignored them. Really comfortable beds and one of the few holiday places I have been to that actually has a sharp knife.

  • "We had a brilliant October half term holiday at Riverwood Cottages at Manor Farm."

We stayed in the Dairy which was really clean and the perfect size for our family of five. Friends and family stayed in other cottages on the farm, which are all close together, so it was a great way to have a holiday with other people, whilst still all having your own space. Our children are aged 7,6 and 3 and they loved the farm - there are apples to pick of the trees, animals to feed (goats, pigs, horses, sheep, ducks), a swimming pool, trampolines, climbing frames and woods to play in. My 13 year old nephew and my 11 year old niece were also on the holiday and they loved staying there too. Tom, who runs the farm, is really friendly and helpful and we felt very well looked after. Also, we thought it was great value for money. We would definitely recommend a holiday at Riverwood Cottages - we had seen it featured in the Guardian as one of the best farm holidays and it didn't disappoint.

  • "So much to do in the area, needed more than 2 week to see all that I wanted."

The cottage and grounds were clean and beautiful, lovely having the animals there. Swimming pool was excellent. Personally the best holiday our family has had in years. So quiet. My youngest was safe, I didn't panic if he went out of sight to the trampoline or to the swing. Josh, the host was very friendly, took my son on a long bike ride, which was very good of him. Would love to go back.... Hope they have a 6 berth cottage...
