  • "We stayed at Orchard Cottage for a two night stay, and loved it!"

The cottage has a lovely, cosy feel and has stunning views of the Ledbury countryside. The kitchen is really well equipped and has everything you could need, the lovely gesture of milk and biscuits was nice too. The bed was really comfortable, and even in December the cottage was nice and warm with the heating. We would definitely return for another visit.

thankyou for your lovely comment. we are glad you enjoyed your stay and you would be most welcome if you return sometime. Property Owner

Location was great for surrounding towns and walks. Owners were very nice. Property should have been aired before arrival. Was stifling and took 30 mins airing before usable. All available cupboard space was taken up with pots and pans. Food had to be kept out on worktops and tables. No prep area and reduced eating space.

Just right for two and a dog! Two points: a handrail on the steps leading to the cottage would be helpful and the hob/oven are rather dated. A grill would be good.

  • "We found this lovely little lodge to be very pleasant for our family (2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 dogs) for our short stay in Ledbury."

The landlady was so helpful with regards arrival time and we found the lodge to be clean with some very thoughtful touches (kids were impressed by the nice biscuits and crisps that were waiting for us). The location was excellent as it was only a short walk to the station, to the town, and up the hill into the woods. We did find the advert to be slightly misleading as we thought we’d have an orchard to walk round but were told that wasn’t part of the property. However there was a small garden area for the dogs and the woods were 2 mins away as mentioned already. We personally wouldn’t choose to stay again as a whole family because our teenagers were really too old for the bouncy bunk beds and we would prefer 3 bedrooms if we stayed away again, but if you have younger kids, or are a couple on your own, this would be absolutely fine. If hubby and I were venturing off on our own with the dogs we’d come back to this lodge for sure. The sofa in the living room was really comfy, the outlook is very pretty and we had no WiFi problems contrary to the reports of other guests.

Comfortably slept and seated 2 adults, 2 children and 1 dog for the week. The previous bad review is not justified. The owners are very pleasant, helpful and give freedom in their grounds willingly. Ledbury, local walks and the Malverns all really accessible. We had a fab week and were very lucky with the weather.

  • "I have already made a complaint regarding this property, the reference is COR-188414-CF."

You will find photos of the property attached to the compaint which was not as we expected and certainly was not worth the £140 per night price tag. Very disappointing too that I have not had a response from Sykes to my complaint after I have also called for an update too ?? Our overall experience was upsetting and made a well earned holiday come to an abrupt end due to the poor quality accommodation definately not as described on the internet - overrated & overpriced ! Compensation would be appreciated.......

We are sorry to hear that you were unsatisfied with the accommodation but also somewhat surprised. As previous feedback, both online and in person has generally been that it is a very nice, clean and comfortable cottage. This property can accommodate up to 4 people and 2 dogs and the price at that time for the 3 night stay that was booked was £93 per night inclusive and consider this to be a fair price for this accommodation. Internet connection is not very good as it comes up from the main house - OK outside if it is not raining. The advice on the dogs is confusing, there are no longer any free range chickens! A good spot on the edge of town with walks starting close to the cottage. We had a good time.

The only drawback with the cottage was the WiFi, the first two days were OK but after that we were frequently told the password had changed ,it was possible to connect on and off but if you need to stay in touch and do not have phone access this is not for you.

LEDBURY

Hereford 15 miles.

The ancient market town of Ledbury (4 miles), dating back to 960 AD, nestles under the Malvern Hills east of Hereford, surrounded by unspoilt English countryside. Ledbury lies on the River Leadon and is famous for its numerous timbered buildings, including Ledbury Park, believed to be one the finest Black and White buildings in England, the 17th century Market House in the town centre and The Painted Room, home to 16th century frescoes. Many music, art and food and drink festivals can be enjoyed in the town and the surrounding area. From time to time music, art, poetry, food and drink festivals are held in the town. Nearby is Eastnor Castle, a fine example of a 19th century, mock-medieval castle, and numerous festivals are held in Eastnor Park. Close by is the historic city of Hereford with its 11th century cathedral, world famous Mappa Mundi and Chained Library. Malvern offers guests many lovely walks along the hills, a luxurious spa and for the car enthusiasts the Morgan Motor Company.
