  • "The cottage location is ideal as its close enough to Bourton, but out of the main traffic & tourist throng."

The size was ideal for us, being just a couple. Where it is let down is mainly the condition of the shower, which is in a terrible condition. We had to buy a new shower head to use & then brought it back home as the one installed was filthy & didn't give a spray at all. The shower cubicle is the smallest available with out of date corner entry doors. It's a shame as there is plenty of room to increase the size. The toilet handle also felt as though it was only one operation away from breaking. The mop head was unbelievably dirty & the vacuum gave a horrible smell when operated. We stayed here last October & made the same comments, but nothing has changed. If the above were corrected, it would be a fantastic holiday home.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We're delighted you love the location near to Bourton but sorry to hear that you encountered some issues with the shower. We have replaced the shower head and the mop. We have passed on all your comments to the Property Manager for review. We hope these didn't impact your stay and that we can welcome you again. • "The cottage is very nice."

The house was very clean and the equipment is quite complete. Nevertheless we believe we have a few recommendations to make it even better: • It was not clear to us how to switch on the oven. We had to contact the office. We received a quick reply, but still then it took us some time to find out how to set the timer: you have to push two buttons at the same time, not very logic. • It took us quite some time to find out how the shower works. In the end we found a switch in the sleeping room. Why not placing signs under each wall switch, also in the kitchen? • The heating in the living room does not work. The small oscillating heater did work well. • Parking lots are extremely narrow. Every day we had to deal with neighbours who had the same problem. • In the kitchen a small knife to cut tomatoes, onions, etc. is missing. • Concerning the toilet: the handle of the cistern does not work properly. You have to push it quite often before the toilet flushes. • Our final suggestion would be to include in the manual more and precise instructions how everything works. This would especially be convenient for foreign guests.

Sits in a quiet courtyard with small space to sit out in, and we took our ‘spike’ to allow our small dog to join us on his lead. Plenty of dog walks from the front door for both short and long walks. No problem with parking our VW Golf in the allocated space with three steps up to the door. Main area for improvement is a bit more info please - from working the heater to recycling options to local walks / dog walks to avoid it being the middle of the stay before you work it all out for yourself!

  • "I thought the location of the property was great ."

I liked the look and style and found the bed to be very comfortable. I was disappointed when I turned up at the cottage and saw the front courtyard was not dog friendly as it was not enclosed and there was no back garden to let them out safely . I think if a property is described as dog friendly it should be just that not “dogs tolerated “ which is what I felt Bobble cottage was. The rules about the dogs not being allowed upstairs or on furniture was a bit much . Then there should be a stair gate to stop them going up there then . I think the property could do with a make over as it was a little tired. The oven needs replacing ( I had to call the office so they could send the maintenance man out twice ). On my first night of arrival I was hungry and looked forward to cooking my dinner and when I realised the oven wasn’t working I was again disappointed. The residential neighbours asked me to park further back from the steps . I’d remembered the first time but had forgotten . We got chatting and they were clearly unhappy with the cottage being holiday let . The parking was a problem as it IS too narrow for most cars. I wasn’t able to open either of my doors to unload one time when I parked there. I had two small dogs with me and it was very annoying. I think if the things I’ve mentioned were addressed it would be more worth the money it costs to stay there . As it stands it’s not. I stay in a lot of air b & bs etc and this one was not up to scratch I’m afraid .

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your stay. We can only apologise for the issues you encountered during your stay and appreciate your suggestions for improvement. everything was very clean and we were provided with tea/coffee/sugar and milk on arrival which was nice. This cottage is especially convenient for visiting most of the Cotswold area Bourton on the water is a 5 minute drive away or a 30 minute walk, Stow on the Wold is 20 minutes by car, as is the lively Burford with its wildlife park. We stayed for a week and would be very happy to book this cottage again. There is everything you need, including cleaning items, plates, cutlery. pots and pans, tea towels etc You are allocated a parking space right in front of the cottage and we parked with no problem in our Ford focus, if you have a large vehicle, you can park outside the village hall which is a short stroll away. The bed and sofa are super comfy which was great. The property was clean on the surface but it did need a deeper clean, for example dust and fluff under the furniture and on plug sockets. We also washed all of the cutlery, plates, cups etc because there were crumbs in the cutlery drawer and on some of the knives. Due to the covid rules it was required to strip the bed, once I'd done so I saw many stains on the duvet itself! Considering the fact we are in the middle of a pandemic I think the property should be deep cleaned and old duvets etc replaced. It would also be useful to have some more cupboard space in the kitchen for our own food etc, I had move loads of stuff around just to get one shelf for our things! The location of the property is perfect, very close to all the beautiful little towns including bourton on the water and stow on the wold. It is also close to a lovely national trust walk and a zoo where we could take our dog!

  • "Bobble Cottage provided a great base for our first visit to the Cotswolds, it may be small but it is perfectly formed."

It was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower was good & there was all that you could need in the kitchen utensils wise. The milk, cookies & ice in the freezer on our arrival were a nice touch & it was handy being able to access Netflix on the TV. We enjoyed some glorious weather during our week & enjoyed sitting out in front of the cottage to soak up some late afternoon sun. The location is super central for Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow On The Wold & all of the must see places in the Cotswolds. One thing worth highlighting with this property to help anyone booking in future is the allocated parking space, it is very narrow. We have a Ford Focus & it completely filled the space, my husband had to do some serious gymnastics to get out of the car once parked up between the other vehicles in the courtyard. You wouldn’t get a bigger vehicle in to the space- I know there is a mention of alternative parking outside the village hall but there were vehicles already parked there so not a feasible alternative. Also the cottage would benefit from a proper wheelie bin like the other properties in Bobble Court have- the small black bin by the front door was already 3/4 full when we arrived for our weeks break which left little room for our rubbish.

Thank you for your feedback, The car park space allocated is big enough to park a normal sized car. I have parked there many times in my 4x4 and had no trouble. There is more spaces in the road nearby and also by the village hall that is not far at all.I would advise you unload when you arrive and if you then find the space is too narrow just park by the village hall or in the nearby lane. Bobble is delightful and the perfect location to explore the Cotswolds, so please don't let the parking put you off. Property Owner

The information folder states to use the No. 3 refuse bin.... There is no refuse bin!! talking to the next door neighbour, he's quite upset that other cottage users have put their rubbish into his bin, or left the plastic sacks outside of bins. This then gets torn open by foxes / cats, and leaves rubbish strewn around. That's why our sack was left in the property. The toilet seat requires attention, as when used, the seat falls out of the fixing brackets!! Also, if the shower could be upgraded to a power-shower, would make the experience better, and perhaps for winter, a permanant heater installed in that room. The TV seemed to have NETFLIX, but I couldn't access this, although not a big deal for us, maybe others would be disappointed. All in all, we had a very enjoyable week there, and would consider returning.

The property

Bobble Cottage is a delightful Cotswold cottage, stunning and contemporary and, in our opinion absolutely ideal for couples looking for a weekend bolt hole.

The property is located in a quiet corner of the beautiful Cotswold village of Little Rissington and has off street parking for one car.

Internally the ground floor is open plan, with a welcoming cosy and warm feeling upstairs is a good sized bedroom with ensuite bathroom .

Bobble Cottage is presented to a very high standard with comfort central to its appeal.

As you can imagine there are great walks from your front door, either up the hill where you'll get some stunning views or alternatively you can walk down the hill towards Bourton on the Water, which is approximately 30 minutes on foot or less than 5 mins in the car!

With such a central central location, it is an ideal base for enjoying the many National Trust gardens and properties.

A gorgeous cottage!

About the location

LITTLE RISSINGTON

Bourton-on-the-Water 2 miles; Stow-on-the-Wold 5 miles.

Little Rissington is a quiet village outside the popular destination of Bourton-on-the-Water, Little Rissington is worth visiting for its 12th century church with its moving memorial to RAF servicemen. The village styling is typical for the Cotswolds; small cottages fronted by flower-boxes.

Associations are always made between the village and RAF Little Rissington, the air base which was located relatively close. The base is gone now, though buildings still remain and have now become the new village of Upper Rissington, and the aerodrome is now used for hang-gliding.

The main attraction is the 12th century church, which lies apart from the village up a short path to the west of the road. On Pound Lane is a row of Cotswold stone cottages described as perhaps the best example in Gloucestershire of 17th century vernacular building.

Note: No cot or high chair supplied.
This property requires good housekeeping bond of £50
Note: There is parking directly in front of the property, marked No. 3, but please be aware it is a small space only suitable for smaller cars. Additional parking is available outside the village hall which is a 2 minute walk from Bobble Cottage.
Please Note: The upper part of the stairs does not have a handrail, but there is a ledge that can be used instead.
