  • "Elm Bank was a perfect place to get everyone together."

The kitchen was really well equipped and we managed to make large group meals very easily. The house was super cosy, had lots of board games and was the perfect size for 12 of us. It’s a short walk to Stow along a lovely path which has lots of great shops and pubs. Would love to go back to the the property again.

  • "A truly wonderful house, clean, tidy and everything you needed."

We didn't even leave the house for the whole weekend except to get takeaways. The trip was for my mums 80th and she loved it. Would highly recommend.

  • "We had a great family time at Elm Bank."

The house is very big. There were 9 of us and there was ample room. The location is great, 1.5km from Stow on the Wold, in a little hamlet and right opposite a local pub like only the Cotswolds have....which was great for New Year's eve. Beautiful house, well appointed. Lived up to the expectations of a well appointed house in a beautiful region. Would we stay there again? ABSOLUTELY!

St Edward’s Parish Church is known for its enchanting looking tree surrounding the doorway and it is here you will find a memorial of those who fought in the last Civil War.

Further afield you will find Bourton-on-the-Water which is a village straddling the River Windrush, it’s known for its low bridges and traditional stone houses.

Make a visit to Birdland which is home to over 500 species of birds including parrots, owls and king penguins, plus life-size model dinosaurs, or discover a miniature replica of the Cotswold-stone village at The Model Village.

About the location

Lower Swell

Lower Swell is every inch the classic Cotswolds village. Surrounded by rolling countryside this is quintessential Cotswolds in many ways. A cracking local pub is literally around the corner (run by a local brewery) along with a host of beautiful buildings including a pretty church. As you'd expect there are many walks into the surrounding countryside. As the cottage is located on the way 'out' of Lower Swell it is also very close Stow on the Wold, which is about 1 mile away, a 10 min walk up a foot path.
