  • "Very clean cottage in a perfect location to enjoy the Cotswolds."

Cottage is an ideal size for 4 adults (or 2 adults and 2 kids in my case).

    MehulAug 2020

  • "Cottage was cosy and comfortable."

Few light bulbs out in places and couldn't see a spare. Heating was on constantly, assume this is because its an old cottage. Had a wonderful time and the snow was a bonus!

We loved Stow. We chose this cottage because it had 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Comfy beds and modern facilities. We would recommend you.

Walking distance to the centre of Stow but still quiet in the cottage itself.

  • "This cottage was such a wonderful place to stay in Stow-on-the-Wold."

I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable experience. Take a step back in time and enjoy this well kept, quaint, charming little cottage. Very close to the center of the village and within walking distance.

  • "Well appointed, comfortable & simply a cosy cottage!"

It was everything I hoped it would be! I have told my friends about renting it or something similar with Character Cottages. Should I come to England again, I would definitely rent from Character Cottages!

  • "This cottage is nicely appointed for two couples and is very centrally located to the shops/restaurants at Stow-on-Wold and the most everything in the Cotswolds."

All of the interactions with the property manager and logistics (getting the key) were easy.

  • "This is a beautiful little cottage that was absolutely perfect for our group: two couples and a baby."

Easy parking is a huge benefit, but you're also walking distance to several pubs, coffee shops and the supermarket.

  • "Beautiful cottage, superb location, great host."

    Highly recommend.

    LawrenceApr 2019

  • "From the photos we made assumptions about the quality of the premises and we were not disappointed."

On the contrary, we found the accommodation to have surpassed our expectations. The provision of parking at the church was a Godsend in such a popular village. Stow proved to be the ideal centre for touring the North Cotswolds and for visiting family nearby. A successful vacation in every way and the cake was, well, the icing on the proverbial. Thank you.

  • "This is a great cottage in an amazing location!"

Absolutely loved the fact that we could just get to the shops in 5 minutes (or less). It was lovely to be able to feel like we were living in an actual English cottage! Certainly going to recommend to our friends back in Australia! Thanks for making our stay better than we could have imagined.

About the location

STOW-ON-THE-WOLD

Bourton-on-the-Water 4 miles; Stratford upon Avon 15 miles.

The highest town in the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises olde worlde England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly Farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antique shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of Stow, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close to the town. Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' as the River Windrush runs through the centre, lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are all within easy reach and make a great day out. Cheltenham (20 miles away) is, architecturally, the most complete regency town in England. A spa town with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse-racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. At other times of year, it is host to literature, jazz, classical music, science and food and drink festivals. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called 'The City of Dreaming Spires’ has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within easy reach, making Stow-on-the-Wold an ideal base.
