The proprietor made contact prior to our visit to touch base and reassure us that we could get in touch if need be. The listing was just as described - a really roomy, comfy space for a couple to spend time in. The location is perfect for exploring the Cotswolds, whether by foot, bus or car. Our first visit but we will definitely return.

Very clean and well equipped. Owner very caring made contact before visit to ensure things ran smoothly. Slight problem with fire alarm it was sorted within the hour. Tea milk and biscuits supplied on arrival- lovely gesture. Only problems is access to bathroom is low- we were warned about this before visit so cant complain- need to duck when you need a bath. Despite this would go again. We had a lovely holiday and would go to this property again

  • "The Old School House was a great location and had all the facilities we needed for a weeks vacation."

Well laid out with lots of little touches such as tea coffee making facilities with a fully equipped kitchen. Nice garden area to sit out in also. Had a call prior to arrival from the owner Tony and a text on arrival to ensure our journey had gone smoothly and to check that we were happy with everything on arrival. Would definitely recommend this cottage and a great location within Stowe on the Wold and local pubs and restaurants all of which were excellent.

Many thanks for your lovely feedback on The Old School House. We are pleased to hear you had such a lovely time. We agree, the property and location is just perfect. Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "A very good location for getting around to other towns and attractions in the area."

A lovely cottage, in a great location, within walking distance of the town and there's plenty of nice pub/restaurants, tea rooms and take-aways in Stow. Also there's a Tesco a short drive away with a hot deli, if you don't want to cook or eat out. Had a really lovely stay, thank you.

  • "Good location in the town, handy for pubs, restaurants and takeaways."

Very well equipped and even supplies of tea, coffee, milk and condiments. The description says that here is only a hand held shower due to the design of the bathroom. That's understandable but the shower didn't work very well and the hot water from the shower wasn't very reliable. It proved a bit difficult to draw the curtains which were heavy and lined, so draw cords or other devices to close and open them would have been very handy; the same is true of the higher windows which had to stay either open or closed. Overall though, lovely accommodation which we would strongly recommend to anyone.

Many thanks for your feedback which is very much appreciated. There is a 24/7 telephone number provided for all our guests staying at this property in case of any issues. If such issues are brought to our attention this will enable us to deal with them promptly to ensure our guests have a safe and enjoyable stay at all times. Our maintenance has now checked the hot water supply and found everything to be working perfectly. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back in the near future. • "We loved The Old School House."

It’s on a lovely road and having a parking space in Stow on the Wold is a definite bonus as parking in the car park and on the street can get full quickly during peak times. You’re in the heart of Stow on the Wold and the location couldn’t get any better. Quick to get to the pubs and shops but quiet for the evening. The garden is lovely and gets the sun late into the day. The cottage itself is wonderful. We really liked having the tea, coffee and milk ready for us when we arrived. The cottage was spotlessly clean and we won’t hesitate to stay again. We had a fabulous holiday with our puppy.

Many thanks for taking the time to provide us with feedback from your stay. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and hope we may welcome you back in the near future. Property Owner

Very comfortable bed in the mezzanine area. Downstairs was a well equipped kitchen, seating area and table and chairs. Also a handy downstairs loo. Only real issue we had was the lack of a shower in the bathroom. Would be perfect if there was one. The cottage was cold the day we arrived. Shame the heating hadn't been put on before we got there. About the location

STOW-ON-THE-WOLD

Bourton-on-the-Water 4 miles; Stratford upon Avon 15 miles.

The highest town in the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises olde worlde England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly Farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antique shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of Stow, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close to the town. Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' as the River Windrush runs through the centre, lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are all within easy reach and make a great day out. Cheltenham (20 miles away) is, architecturally, the most complete regency town in England. A spa town with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse-racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. At other times of year, it is host to literature, jazz, classical music, science and food and drink festivals. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called 'The City of Dreaming Spires’ has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within easy reach, making Stow-on-the-Wold an ideal base.
