  • "Cottage is very well equipped and ideal size for 3-4 people."

Great that it takes a dog and the garden works really well with patio doors from the lounge. It is a real benefit to have a downstairs cloakroom as well as the upstairs bathroom. The house is only 8 minutes from the centre of Stow so can have dinner and drinks and have an easy walk back. Good parking for 2 cars outside. One of the armchairs was not the most comfortable but everything else was excellent.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are pleased that you and your dog had a comfortable stay and enjoyed the central location in Stow. We hope we can welcome you back again. Best wishes Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "A very enjoyable stay at Woolpack Cottage."

Very clean and nicely decorated with comfortable furnishings. Bonus for us was the lovely garden and driveway parking. Located in a quiet residential area, took us approx 12 minutes to walk into the centre of Stow (follow the map provided). Plently of restaurants and tea rooms to choose from as well as a Tesco. Stow is well located for exploring the surrounding area.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the local amenities. Best wishes, Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "Overall this was a really good cottage."

The bed was a little firm for our tastes but it didn’t disturb our sleep too much. The garden was nice and secure for our dog Jess. The road and area was quiet and there were takeaways and a pub less than 10 minutes walk away. Not sure why but some channels were missing from freeview but we were out most of the day so didn’t affect us much. It’s certainly a cottage we would consider rebooking should we be visiting the area again.

Thank you so much for your review, we are aware the main bed is a little hard and this will be rectified with a new slightly softer mattress on order. The television has been now re-tuned. So sorry about this. Do hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "Great property, great location for Stow On The Wold and other Cotswold 'hot spots'."

Easy parking at the property, very clean and tidy. Other visitors had commented on the bed in the main bedroom. We found it suited us, a good quality mattress topper was on it so we found it very comfy. The addition of an electric fan, for use in hot weather, would have been useful. Experience had taught us to take one, but always nice if one is included in the description list. Not too sure the Smart TV was working fully correctly and did have update issues with it during our stay. Sykes organized someone to visit and sort it out but he was not over confident that it working correctly either. Not a great problem to us as we only used it for basic TV channels anyway. Good pubs, restaurant's, take-aways and cafe's in Stow in easy walking distance. Some of the more popular pubs such as the Porch House and Sheep need tables booking for weekends as they are busy. All local attractions are well worth a visit. To the owners and to Sykes, thank you.

Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Woolpack Cottage. We are pleased that maintenance were able to attend to to take a look at the TV for you and that you were still able to use it. Best wishes, Character Cottages Property Owner

Loved the cottage very much. Only little niggle was the mattress in the front bedroom, it was slightly too hard. Otherwise the cottage is just perfect.

About the location

STOW-ON-THE-WOLD

Bourton-on-the-Water 4 miles; Stratford upon Avon 15 miles.

The highest town in the Cotswolds, Stow-on-the-Wold, originally an Iron Age Fort, epitomises olde worlde England. This ancient market town has played host to many fairs since the 12th century and today holds a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly Farmers' market. The vast market square boasts an ancient cross at one end and the village stocks at the other, surrounded by an elegant array of Cotswold stone townhouses, antique shops, tea rooms, traditional pubs, award-winning restaurants and its very own cricket museum. Many walks and cycle rides through the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cotswolds can be enjoyed from the centre of Stow, with the Macmillan Way, Heart of England Way, Gloucestershire and Monarch's Way all running close to the town. Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the 'Venice of the Cotswolds' as the River Windrush runs through the centre, lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of the most popular Cotswold villages. The Saxon market town of Moreton-in-Marsh and the quintessential English village of Broadway are all within easy reach and make a great day out. Cheltenham (20 miles away) is, architecturally, the most complete regency town in England. A spa town with an incredible range of shops, cinemas, theatres, restaurants and pubs, it is famous for its horse-racing festival in March, culminating in the Gold Cup steeplechase. At other times of year, it is host to literature, jazz, classical music, science and food and drink festivals. Oxford, the oldest university city in England and sometimes called 'The City of Dreaming Spires’ has an abundance of prestigious attractions, including the 38 colleges of the university (half of which date back before 1600), the oldest university teaching room, the Bodleian Library, Ashmolean and Pitt Rivers Museums, and Botanic Gardens. Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath, Worcester and the waterfront city of Gloucester are also within easy reach, making Stow-on-the-Wold an ideal base.
