The property

A charming detached lodge located on a small holiday park in the village of Sling on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean.

Furnished to a high standard providing spacious, contemporary ground floor accommodation.

The lodge is ideal for a small family holiday or romantic break surrounded by beautiful countryside.

The lodge has two charming bedrooms, both with walk-in wardrobes with the master king-size bedroom having the added benefit of en-suite facilities.

The light and bright open plan living area provides the perfect place for catching up with friends over dinner, relaxing with a drink or putting your feet up after a day exploring the area.

Forget the helter-skelter of everyday life whilst enjoying alfresco dining on the patio or unwind on a summer's day with a refreshing drink.

Take an evening stroll to the village pub or jump in the car and enjoy a meal at one of the many excellent eating establishments the area has to offer.

Visit a National Trust property and the riverside towns of Ross-on-Wye or Monmouth are also close by.

About the location

Monmouth 8 miles; Ross-on-Wye 12.4 miles

The intimate village of Sling, lies on the western edge of The Royal Forest of Dean and has a wonderful village pub serving real ales and home-cooked food using locally sourced produce. Many lovely walks and cycle rides can be enjoyed from the village with Offa's Dyke Path, Wysis Way and Wye Valley Walk all passing close by. The ancient caves of Clearwell are nearby, as is Symonds Yat which boasts natural scenery and straddles the beautiful River Wye with its magnificent limestone outcrop, popular with climbers, and well-known for its viewpoint. The magnificent Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, boasts numerous trails that can be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback. Caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course are for the more adventurous, whilst fishing, golf, kayaking and canoeing are other popular activities in this unspoilt area. Visit the pretty market town of Monmouth, with its mixture of elegant Georgian mansions and Victorian courtyards, or the lovely town of Ross-on-Wye with its timbered Tudor houses and delightful riverside walks, both offer excellent shops, pubs and restaurants. The historic walled town of Chepstow is a short drive away with its impressive Norman castle and the celebrated racecourse, whilst the unspoilt Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains, as well as lovely Cotswold towns and villages are just a little further afield as are the cities of Cheltenham, Gloucester, Cardiff, Newport, and just across the Severn Bridge, Bristol and Bath.
