Local coffee shop is good and there is a Spar a couple of minutes away and a Co-Op 10 mins walk. The local pub doesn't serve food. The bike storage only holds 4 mtb's but may take 6 road bikes, it also isn't very secure, we backed our car against the door to prevent access.

Amazing forest walks are just minutes away with plenty of activities for everyone. I literally can't fault this house and will be returning again. The space is great. Very well thought out for functionality and very attractive. It also felt homely with great wall art and books and lamps and nice bits scattered about. It was also really fantastic to have some basic cooking ingredients and a supply of tea and coffee, as well as other kitchen basics which are so helpful when self catering. In addition there were plenty of pots, pans and crockery etc. The TV and sound system plus wi-fi were also really appreciated. Upstairs.... the beds were very comfortable with plenty of space & fine bathrooms! All in all a great place to stay for a fabulous time away. Thank you so much Adam and Denise. We would like to return one day.

Communication with Adam and Denise was excellent, always responding to our questions; before during and after our stay. We came to celebrate a 40th Birthday, the space was perfect for this, we were a party of 8: 6 adults and 2 children. We planned, cooked and ate delicious meals in the large and very well equipped kitchen. The house was super clean on arrival and we had everything we needed. We also had a food delivery which really helped start off our holiday. We visited loads of places nearby- puzzlewood, Clearwell Caves, Bathurst Lido, we also did a morning of canoeing on the river Wye which was wonderful. We also did walks locally. We had a great time and would recommend to large groups.

The hosts were easy to communicate with from the outset and very accommodating of our requests throughout. They were in contact throughout our stay and followed all our requests. The property is beautiful and has everything you’ll need for a group. The open-plan living and kitchen area is what drew us to the property and it didn’t disappoint. The bedrooms were all great in size and space and furniture was all comfortable, with decoration done to a very high standard. Everything was clean and it had all the amenities we could have needed and more. Thank you very much for our stay. We would definitely choose to stay again if in the area.

We could not fault it in any way. The kitchen has everything and more than is needed with the dining area space as well giving ample space for 8 people to move around easily. The lounge was comfortable with extra touches of blankets if needed. All of the bedrooms and bathrooms were extremely comfortable and expertly decorated/furnished. The owner was very nice too, offering to let us in early and leave a little later. This house is just stunning and I wish I could live in it permanently. I would definitely go back. PS. Best pub for meal was Miners Arms. Again amazing food.

  • "The standard of the property was great it was exactly what we required for our family break."

One disappointing part of the weekend was the lack of flexibility for a later check out than 10am on the last day. However, the biggest issue from the weekend was the departure procedure that was required either from the property owner or Sykes themselves. We are a clean and tidy family but the requirement to strip all the bedding, collect all the used towels, dispose of all the various recyclable materials into an outdoor facility (we’d already separated it into the correct receptacles within the property), clear out the main rubbish bin, etc. was all excessive. This was compounded by making sure this was all achieved by the afore mentioned 10am check out time. Is this kind of post-stay cleaning not a part of the rental price of the property? This would discourage me from using Sykes again.
