The cottage is quaint and well appointed. We had all we needed for our 8 day stay. The hosts communicated well. Everything was easy and hassle free. The bottle of bubbles and chocolates were a lovely touch. We are sorry we missed you when you visited.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Dove Cottage."

On arrival, we were welcomed by fresh milk, chocolates and prosecco. The owner later arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. The House was lovely and clean and the facilities were excellent. The only recommendation I would say would be to get a more comfortable mattress in the main bedroom. Otherwise I couldn't complain. The other nice part of the property was the outside seating area, it was so peaceful and if you want to sit and read a book then this place is perfect.

  • "Lovely cosy cottage in a great village location."

Very well equipped and comfortable. Some great walking from the door and the village pub is always very welcoming. The owners were warm and welcoming, whether in person or on the phone prior to arrival. This is an old, character property and the details do highlight that and the inherent features that some today may find different or difficult. The stairs are steep but there are plenty of hand rails. There is only a hand-held shower over the freestanding slipper bath (you can’t stand up) but that adds to them charm of the cottage. Some ceilings are sloped and low and give the cottage extra character. In terms of the parking space, I got a large estate car in but appreciate it is tight but there is plenty of on-road parking if you prefer.

Many thanks for your feedback. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Bob and Barbara. Property Owner

Steep stairs and bath close to eaves but not a real problem. In addition to small parking space we found it easy to park a few steps away near the church. Pub friendly. Owner very helpful.

  • "This cottage is beautiful, located in a chocolate box type village in a beautiful valley."

Small but pleasantly spacious with everything you need for a self catering week away. The only drawback is the bathroom, being in the eves of the house you need to be under 5ft 6, there is also no shower, just a shower head in the bath which is difficult if again you on the larger side of life. That being said you will be very comfortable here and you will enjoy your stay.

Many thanks for your feedback - we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately people were shorter in the sixteenth century! As you know, we do try to make it very clear on the website about the low ceilings and, fortunately, most of our taller guests do find them manageable. Property Owner

  • "We loved our stay in the beautiful Dove Cottage."

It felt like such a proper Cotswolds’ experience and the village was stunning. The bubbly and chocolates on arrival were a wonderful surprise. Bob and Barbara were very helpful, including when we changed our minds about the bed configuration at the last minute. Bob popped over to welcome us but other than that we were left to enjoy the cottage independently. Instructions were very informative. We also made friends with a delightful elderly cat next door called Dave; my three year old adored him! The stairs were steep, as expected in an old property, but didn’t phase us or our toddler. The parking was fine for our smaller car. Overall, a wonderful stay with lovely hosts. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your very kind feedback. We are glad you had such a good stay. Bob and Barbara Property Owner

Well fitted with plenty of hot water and a comfortable bed on the second floor. The stairs are steep and headroom in the bathroom and kitchen is an issue if you are over 5’10’’. The owners are helpful. There is no shop in the village but an excellent pub.

Many thanks for your feedback. We do try to make it very clear on the website about the low ceilings and the steep stairs. Unfortunately building regulations were different in the sixteenth century! We hope you had a great holiday. Bob and Barbara. Property Owner

We were after a total get away from it all, relaxing break from our busy lives and we certainly had that at Dove Cottage. On arrival we were greeted with milk in the fridge, chocolates & prosecco. A nice touch by the owner. The property is well designed for a small Cottage. We were asked by the owner if we would like the bed in the loft space to be be made into a King size rather than two singles before we arrived. There is a comfortable double on the second floor. It's a very clean and well organised property. Naunton is a beautiful village with a very good pub within walking distance. Stow & Bourton are the closest villages for shops. Both are great for eating out. We took our 20 month old Jack Russell with us, who throughly enjoyed the walks and meeting the many horses in the local fields. We left the dogs 'Colin the Catapillar' and the owner has very kindly posted him back to us. A lovely break in a lovely part of the world.

All of ones needs are accounted for by the owners - from nightlights to torches to hair dryers and welcome gifts. They have truly thought of it all. Additionally, the kitchen has all you need to prepare a nice meal. If you're not in the mood to cook, we highly recommend the pubs in the local area. The Black Horse and the Hollow Bottom were both friendly and served excellent meals. Situated right off the stream and amidst numerous trekking routes, we were in heaven. The village is lovely too. The property

Dove Cottage is a beautiful, traditional Cotswold stone property, tucked away in the picturesque Cotswold village of Naunton.

Perfect for couples or a small family, this cottage is an ideal base for exploring the stunning Cotswolds region.

A gravelled driveway hosting one car welcomes you on arrival as you unload your luggage and climb the stone stairs up to the front door which opens into the characterful sitting room with striking exposed beams and a stone fireplace with a warming woodburning stove, perfect for curling up on the sofa with your loved ones and enjoying a film on the Smart TV, with use from the Blu-ray player.

Host a fun dinner party for you and your group with help from the contemporary facilities in the kitchen/diner, and toast to a relaxing holiday ahead, before loading the dishes into the dishwasher and heading up the stairs to retreat to one of the inviting bedrooms.

The first floor is home to the bathroom which features a freestanding bath, and the first bedroom, which has attractive rural views and contains a double bed, with the second bedroom accessed by a steep staircase, into the eaves of the property, contains twin beds which are perfect for children and are zip/link so they can be changed to a king-size bed on request.

In the morning, sip on your coffee in the lovely, peaceful patio area, which contains an outdoor table set and a barbecue to make use of in the summer months.

Get better acquainted with your surroundings by venturing out to discover the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds, with the centre of Naunton right on your doorstep and the River Windrush flowing through the village which is set in a ‘bowl’ within the scenic Cotswold hills, it’s the perfect place for exploring.

The Black Horse Inn is just 0.3 miles from your doorstep where you can enjoy the pleasant ambience and home-made, locally sourced food and drinks.

A short car ride will put you in Bourton-on-the-Water, which is often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the River Windrush, an array of shops and attractions can be found here such as Cotswold Motoring Museum & Toy Collection and The Model Village which is a mini replica of the village itself, and Greystones Farm & Nature Reserve which is home to wildflower meadows and a working organic farm; offering time out from the hustle and bustle of the village centre.

Visit the historical market town of Stow-on-the-Wold where you can stroll around the market square and discover the town stock which dates back to the 15th century and is shaded by a majestic Elm Tree and then head over to St Edward’s Parish Church where you will find the enchanting looking tree surrounded doorway and finally, finish off with refreshing tipple at The Stag at Stow.

Cheltenham is just under a 30-minute drive from Dove Cottage and has a wealth of activities; if you’re into a spot of shopping The Promenade is the place to be as it has been named as one of the top five best shopping streets in Britain!

For some beautiful scenery, be sure to visit Pittville Park which is the city's largest ornamental park that includes playgrounds, a boating lake and an aviary.
