  • "The property was brilliantly located, clean and spacious enough for us (2 adults, 4 children aged between 10 & 2)."

There was a dedicated parking space a short walk from the property which made unloading/packing really easy. Plenty of activities to do onsite, heated outdoor swimming pool was surprising warm, excellent tennis courts and opportunity to hire water sports items and bikes. Lots of local places of interest too and easy to venture off site to Cotswold Wildlife Park, Cotswold Country Park and Beach and picturesque local villages/tourist activities. We found the property well equipped, new BBQ on the rear terrace, 2 showers and a bath (with extra shower) plenty of space to dry towels on the huge heated towel rails following visits to the pool! Don’t be put off by some of the (in my opinion) overly negative comments on other reviews. We would have no hesitation returning in the future. Fab property and family holiday for us all. Thanks so much!

  • "Whilst the cottage was clean and comfortable there were a number of issues with the facilities."

The washing machine was broken and when we tire bed it on it blew the fuse for all downstairs and needs replacing. There were 2 Lamps in the bunk bed room kids bedroom not working (bulbs gone) and light bulb also out in the downstairs toilet. The fuse for the cooker hood is broken. There was no chain on bath plug and we had to use the plunger to get it out. The Toaster has no setting knob as it’s broken. There was no wood for fire provided. It was not clear on booking that we could not use the outdoor and indoor pool at the spa and we’re told when trying to use it that our property did not have access.

  • "House was clean and functional ."

.. you have to tell he ownerd to get Rid of that 1970s round glass table right in the middle of a walk way.. such a waste of space. I've seen other people comment before on thst too. Beds and sofas comfy and showers although drizzly worked fine. No cushions for outdoor furniture.. wouldn't be good in summer, or bbq. These are basics. I also emailed skyes about 2 issues whilst i was there and got no reply.

  • "The property was lovely ."

. can't really fault it. However, we personally did not like the estate it is sited on. It felt a bit claustrophobic with so many properties cramped in together. The parking was really bad. Only one car space allocated and we had real trouble trying to find anywhere else to park for our visiting family. The overspill parking was totally inadequate. (This was at the weekend - it wasn't so bad during the week).

  • "Good cottage surprisingly no wardrobe space at all apart from a shop rail!"

Good central location if you want to get out and about the Cotswolds. Showers are electric and like standing outside in drizzle! Could do with more power but that is being picky

    Tight parking spaces.

  • "When going to self-catering properties we are usually struck by the lack of personality in the properties."

This home felt well-equipped and homely. To feel at home in a holiday let is a blessing!

  • "Kitchen equipment could be improved, crockery, pans etc are a bit poor maybe."

I think there could be an issue with the shower in the en-suite. The door sticks slightly, which is probably due to the floor substrate swelling up. There might be a leak under there somewhere, also backed up by the staining on the ceiling below. Only mentioning so that the owners can address the problem before it gets much worse

  • "The cottage was dirty."

The en suite bathroom bathroom had a problem whereby the toilet wasn't flushing properly and the waste was coming up through the shower. The hot tap in the sink of another bathroom didn't work at all. A chair on the terrace was broken and in a dangerous state. I was in almost daily contact with Sykes Cottages or the owner but apart from a 'case' being opened, nothing was rectified during our stay and I am still awaiting a response from my last email. A member of the cleaning staff was very rude during a phone conversation. Sykes Cottages took no responsibility for the problems we encountered. Having used Sykes Cottages many times previously, I won't be using them again or recommending them or the property to anyone else.

  • "We had an excellent holiday."

Riverview was a comfortable , well equipped house. We enjoyed the cake and bottle of wine left for us. Thank you. Nature was never far away. From the house we saw duck and coot families regularly. We also saw a green woodpecker on the path. Lovely. My husband and daughter swam most mornings. The water was lovely and warm. The family also hired bikes and a canoe and had a good time. We also went further afield to Cotswold Wildlife Park and The White Horse at Uffington. Nearer we explored the Thames Path at various points, starting with the Source of The Thames near Kemble. In our two weeks holiday there was plenty to see and do. We would love to come again.

  • "We were thrilled upon arrival at Riverview Cottage."

Not only did the cottage exceed our expectations (it had clearly just ben done up and not only was it doe to a very high standard, it was very in keeping with the Cotswolds style, very beautiful and very comfortable), but the welcome package we received was a wonderful thoughtful touch. The owners of this cottage clearly care about the customer and their wonderful cottage. A wonderful cottage making our first stay away in the UK since the start of the lockdown, extra special and I would like to that the owners for their personal touches in welcoming us to their cottage and stay,
