  • "The property was very clean and very comfortable."

When we come back to this area we will be looking to stay here again.

  • "An excellent stay, once again, at this lovely cottage in Newnham."

A great location just a minutes stroll to the River Severn. The cottage is immaculate, well equipped and dog friendly. Newham is on the edge of the Forest of Dean, a wonderful area for exploring. Can highly recommend Ferryside Cottage and the area in general.

The Garden had an amazing view-and was very pleasant. The house suited us very well-and the owner very helpful. We felt it was an excellent choice.

  • "Lovely cottage and village, very comfortable and well-presented."

We used the kitchen and found it well equipped and the oven and hob easy to use. We enjoyed the garden, walks along the river and around the village and found the neighbours friendly. We found the local shop and pub, the Black Pig, welcoming and good and also enjoyed dinner at the White Hart. Otherwise we used the cottage as a base from which to explore the Forest of Dean. One small point - would be good to have somewhere to hang your coats and put your shoes.

  • "This cottage was cosy and comfortable - it was very well equipped with everything you would need for a break."

The lounge was a perfect place to relax after a day walking around this very picturesque area. The courtyard and the garden (superb views of the Severn from the garden) were ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine at the end of the day. The locals were very friendly, especially all the ones we met in the local pubs - (The Black Pig - excellent pizzas, The Railway inn - a proper pub with an excellent Indian restaurant above, The club - cheap and cheerful and the White Hart Inn - excellent food) . All of these within walking distance of the cottage. Maybe an information pack would be helpful about the local area (we only found the Railway Inn by accident) but all in all an excellent place to stay and hopefully we will be back again if you can fit us in. Thank you.

  • "This cottage is in a great lot to explore the Forest of Dean and the surrounding area."

The cottage was clean and very comfortable. My only feedback is that The glassware/ cutlery/ crockery was not enough if the place was fully occupied.

  • "Fantastic set up - the cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed - including a smart TV which does make a difference with kids if the weather turns."

Neighbours were lovely too. Slight niggle in that we didn’t realise that there was a washing machine and larger freezer in the shed next to the cottage until the end of the stay.

  • "There was a washing machine and tumble dryer in a shed, The shed itself was full of dirty mouldy stuff that had been abandoned."

If the shed was to be emptied and thoroughly cleaned it would have been far nicer. It let down the whole feel of the stay. There is also a shed at the top of the garden that was in the same condition. It had cushions for the seats outside, but yet again needed to be emptied and thoroughly cleaned. we would consider returning if these points were addressed. The owner was lovely as were the neighbours The house itself was clean and liveable. It was just a shame about the shed
