VERY well equipped with everything you need and more. Well located for services and enjoyed making most of the walks to Box Woods and Nailsworth beyond. If anything, the sensitive smoke alarm caught me out a few times. But a minor niggle for what was a really nice place and will look re-book again for future holidays in the area.

  • "We really enjoyed our holiday at Bluebell Cottage."

The cottage itself is lovely, it seemed small when we first walked through the door, but actually it was the perfect size for the 3 of us and provided us with a lovely base for exploring the area. It was very clean and furnished lovely and I loved the vases of flowers everywhere. It also has a very pretty garden with tables etc for outdoor eating, parking was no problem. We'd definitely recommend this cottage if you're looking to stay in this area.

  • "The only issue we had was the shower."

The hot water to the upper shower head was very intermittent, and there was always a loud screeching sound from the pipes when in use.

I was sorry to hear through Sykes that you had a problem with the shower during your stay The plumber has now visited and thankfully the shower is now working properly Please accept my apologies If I was aware of the problem I certainly would have had it looked at and repaired during your stay. I’m glad that everything else in the cottage and garden was perfect for you Many thanks The owner of Bluebell Cottage Property Owner

  • "Whilst the property was clean and comfortable there were a few issues."

The bathroom is tired and in need of updating. The shower head cannot be moved lower and the shower screen creaked and groaned when moved and there was evidence of that rusty brown discolouring on it. The toilet seat is skew-whiff! There is a small area in the bath that is 'non slip' but there is no grab handle to help with getting out. The handles on the bath are no use when getting out. There is a door in the living room going into the garden. We couldn't open this and were told it needed repair. This was very disappointing as we badly needed air coming into the cottage. One of the side windows of the living room had to be closed from outside. We opened the back windows (dining space) but it was impossible to close them without going out the back and pushing them. TV is not well placed for the person ion the two seater sofa. The gate to the rear space (where the bins are) is very user UNfriendly. Very difficult to open. New gate needed and levelling of the access too. Second bedroom has very little space for storage of clothes. We were two friends but if two couples were to go that room would be difficult for 2 people and their clothes. The garden is lovely. Very private and very colourful. So good to come back to as the patio is in the shade and we were there during the recent heatwave. We fed the visiting robin regularly, and got some great pohotos of him sharing our space. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cutlery, glasses, mugs and cutlery. A small pan would be useful for two people. Personally I wasn't a fan of the window shutters in the bedroom. If you shut them to keep out the light then no air can get in. I always have windows open overnight. Overall we liked the cottage but it does need the owner to do some remedial work.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review regarding your stay at Bluebell Cottage. Guest feedback is always welcome and helps us keep improving the experience of our guests at Bluebell Cottage. Following your review, the shower screen will be replaced and the fitter will ensure that the shower head can be moved lower and that the toilet seat is correctly fitted. The key to the living room door will also be made available on request to future guests. I am sorry you were led to believe this was broken it was not the case. Maintenance is scheduled annually at Bluebell Cottage to maintain high standards for our guests to enjoy. The windows are scheduled for maintenance in autumn 2021. Our local badger keeps digging under the gate to the rear of the property! Again, maintenance is scheduled for autumn 2021 to level the area again. I am so glad you found the kitchen to be well equipped and that you enjoyed the garden. The robin is a regular visitor, along with lots of other birds. We would love to welcome you back to Bluebell Cottage again in the future. Property Owner

A short walk from the cottage up to the common where you can walk for miles and enjoy the open space. The only downside we encountered this visit was a 'snotty' note left by one of the villagers telling us not to park on the road on the green as it was for 'residents' only (its a public road through the village)!! On the plus side there is parking at the village hall a short walk away.

  • "We loved every moment of our stay at Bluebell Cottage."

It was beautifully decorated, full of character, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable and cosy particularly with the log burner on. It was in a nice quiet relaxing location but within easy reach for sightseeing the rest of the Cotswolds. There is no off street parking however we got parked along the roadside next to the village green most days without any prob and the one day we couldn't find a space a friendly local came out and informed us we could park in the village hall car park and there was a little footpath directly from it to the cottage. Overall we would give this cottage 10 out of 10. Lucille and Martin Robertson, Newcastle Upon Tyne

  • "We had a lovely stay at Bluebell Cottage."

It was incredibly clean and cosy. It felt like being at home. I would definitely recommend this cottage to any of my friends. The owner, Helen, had decorated it with really good taste as it used to be their family home. As soon as we walked in, we could tell straightaway she took pride in making the place beautiful to welcome any guests. The garden was equally tidy and pretty (sadly, the weather didn't hold for us to sit outside as we had a lot of rain that week but we enjoyed admiring it while sipping a cup of tea sitting in the living by the stove).
