  • "Lovely cottage, walks from the door, log burner, en-suite bedrooms, we would return to this cottage"

Thank you for taking the time to leave a feedback, we are delighted you enjoyed your stay and looking forward to welcoming you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The holiday worked well and the cottage was generally very good."

I was amused to find that the only link that worked in all the correspondence from you was this one asking for feedback. Despite two phone calls complaining that the links on your emails did not work, nothing was done about it. I could not open an account, read the terms and conditions of the insurance or provide group information. I will not put your company at the top of my list when searching for cottages to rent in the future.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that you experienced difficulty communicating with us. Please do not allow this to reflect negatively on the property or it's owner. We are pleased to hear that you had a very good holiday regardless of these issues and hope to welcome you back again in the future. Property Owner

  • "Arrived to a wonderful cottage, the owner had left some milk, biscuits and orange juice which was greatly appreciated after a 3 hour journey!"

Wonderful setting, lots of walks from the house itself. The pub at the end of the road was absolutely brilliant.

  • "The cottage and location was a wonderful find!"

The enclosed garden was perfect for our mini dachshund to runner around in. The bed and bedding were of high quality (so important when you are away from your own comforts). With so many great walks right outside the front door, we were spoiled for choice. Have added the cottage and the village to our list of places to return to in the Cotswolds.

  • "Beautiful cottage with great facilities including very comfortable beds and powerful showers."

Fantastic location with many great walks from the doorstop across lovely countryside. 2 minute walk to a pub with good food. Very peaceful location for a very relaxing holiday.

  • "Things I liked: en-suite for both rooms, comfortable beds, owner allowed us to have access to the cottage as early as 10."

00 am as they didn't have anyone in there that day. The owner came out and helped us find the property as it's not 100% clear in the directions. The porch was lovely and spacious. The bedrooms were spacious. Things I didn't like: the lounge furniture is seriously uncomfortable and spoils the affect of the cottage. The TV is tiny and sounds very tinny as a result. We used the oven a couple of times and it hadn't been cleaned, a tray was left in there and it had crumbs in it. Not very private in the outdoor sitting area (it's in a residential area), could do with some shrubbery for privacy, the area looked quite sparse. Not suitable for children, more suited for couples.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback for The Rectory. The owner takes all feedback very seriously and has now installed a new 32" Smart TV. Manor Cottages Property Owner

  • "'The Rectory' was a fantastic property in a beautiful location."

It was spotlessly clean when we arrived, beautifully furnished and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The en-suite bathrooms had wonderful power showers and the beds were comfortable. Would highly recommend it!

  • "Very well presented, facilities top notch."

Everything you need in the kitchen, comfortable bed. Owner dropped in to see how we were settled, and was prompt when some assistance was needed. Parking was good, and location central. Great pub 5 min walk away.

  • "I have stayed at this lovely cottage before, which is why I said it met expectations rather than exceeded, as I already know how wonderful it would be."

  • "The main issue we had with the property was the lounge furniture which was incredibly uncomfortable and certainly not of a five star standard."

The other point would be the size of the TV which was barely larger than a laptop screen, again not what I would expect from the rating Sykes gave to the property.

A real home from home .Lucy gave us a welcome visit soon after we arrived and was on hand if we had any questions.Which was nice.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back if we visit the Cotswolds in the future.

  • "We had a fantastic Holiday."

There were 4 Adults and 2 dogs in the party. When we arrived we were greeted with a lovely warm house and the basic assentials, all we needed for a nice cup of tea and some lovely shortbread, they had even given us some all butter croissants, which was a lovely treat, we are on holiday after all. The owner came to visit us to make sure everything was alright. We did have an issue with the log burning fire, however after contacting the owner it was soon established that the local jackdaws had built there nest in the chimney but the very next day we had a visit from the local chimney sweep and the fire was lit that night, superb with a glass of single malt. All in all a wonderful holiday.

  • "I can not really rate Sykes, as my booking was made through Hideaways and I know the changeover between the booking agents occurred during the time of my stay."

My rating of The Rectory though is that it was accommodation of the highest level. The house was beautiful, very clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. Having both bedrooms with ensuite facilities also made everything even more comfortable than had we had to share a bathroom. Would happily return again and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet rural retreat in a beautiful area.

About the location

Cirencester 10 miles.

Tetbury retains a wealth of character within its ancient streets. The town’s origins date back to 681, but it was during the Middle Ages that it flourished as one of the major markets for The Cotswold wool trade. Nowadays The Market Hall is still home to a busy general market every Wednesday, whilst the town as a whole is something of a mecca for antique hunters with several shops in the town and regular fairs in the vicinity. Closeby is the Forestry Commission’s Westonbirt Arboretum, one of the largest collections of rare shrubs and trees in Europe, whilst further afield (but still within easy driving distance) are the elegant Regency cities of Bath and Cheltenham, Shakespeare’s Stratford and other attractions such as the internationally renowned Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust.
