Luxurious and stocked with everything we needed. Watching the birds on the bird feeder was a delight, and sitting in the courtyard in the evening rounded the day off wonderfully. The cider barn sits in glorious countryside and even has its own pretty grounds to explore. We had mixed weather but it didn’t spoil our time at all. We would highly recommend the cider barn and we look forward to returning.

It is clean, well furnished and very peaceful. The owners are lovely and genuinely pleased to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Add to this the location which is picturesque and quiet then you are guaranteed a great stay. Only odd thing is that there are no curtains upstairs in the bedroom which does mean waking up with the sun and maybe one thing to address. But, all in all, I had a fantastic week and it is one of those places people would keep coming back to.

Thank you for your lovely feedback regarding your stay at The Cider Barn. It's always amazing to hear how much guests love the barn and we hope to welcome you again soon. Kind regards Hideaways. Property Owner

Private patio garden at rear with ample seating, eco and wildlife friendly with a joining private use of stunning wildlife garden and pond for your use. Fresh bread, milk and eggs from the 2 chickens that reside in owners garden were in the cottage on arrival for us along with a welcoming card and flowers. Clean and very well presented with all amenities, including teatowels and Bath towels. Very comfortable bed and we enjoyed filming the woodpeckers eating from the bird feeder outside the bedroom window each morning. Peaceful location and bee hives on owners property where you can buy home made honey. Very friendly couple, nothing is too much trouble but allowed us privacy. We would recommend The Cider Barn without hesitation

The Cider Barn still managed to exceed them. This is a perfect, comfortable, secluded cottage, ideal both for a relaxing getaway, and as a base to explore the lovely Forest of Dean & Wye Valley. The welcome basket of bread, milk, and eggs from their own hens, provided by the owners, was much appreciated. We also highly recommend the honey produced by their bees. The garden with its cherry trees, pond, wild flowers, and two patios is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Watching woodpeckers at the bedroom window every day was a bonus too. All in all, this is the perfect hideaway holiday cottage. We didn't want to leave, and hope to return to the Cider Barn.

Lovely bedroom with panoramic view, wake up to blue tits and woodpeckers feeding in front of your window. Kim and Gary are friendly property owners, the welcome pack provided on our first day was an indicator that everything has been considered to make our stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. A little idyll in the countryside. Sitting in bed you felt like you were in a tree house with panaromic views of tree tops. There are two little patio gardens, both with table and chairs, plus a locely seat overlooking the pond - so there are lots of options to sit and relax outside. The owners were friendly and helpful. We followed their advice on the Little Dean chippy - delicious fish. We even got to learn a bit about bee keeping.

The rear courtyard is surrounded by beautiful scented roses and is a lovely sun trap. There are bird feeders hanging outside of the bedroom window where we had the pleasure of watching a Woodpecker eating his breakfast which was a real treat to watch this shy creature close up. Gary & Kim were very friendly & helpful hosts, initially providing a lovely welcome pack of delicious bread, honey (their own) & milk. The accommodation was comfortable & spacious and there was a choice of private, outside space to benefit from the peaceful surroundings. We particularly enjoyed the bird feeders outside the bedroom window, which attracted many birds, including a woodpecker! The only problem was the washbasin in the bathroom, which was fine for hand washing but rather small for anything else. Overall, a great place to stay if you are looking for tranquility & a natural environment. The Forest of Dean area is well worth a visit!

No traffic noise and only the rustle of the wind through the trees to disturb the silence. We stayed at apple blossom time and so took very many photographs but the location is breathtaking at any part of the year. On arriving, we were greeted by very friendly hosts who we never saw again, (except by coincidence). There was a welcome pack of provisions including a loaf of local gorgeous bread and we found the kitchen to be well stocked with tools and electrical gadgets which all worked. The well stocked DVDs and book library was brilliant and we look forward to returning again for another wonderful holiday.
