  • "Lovely open plan, cosy cottage."

Perfect for a group of ladies wanting a good catch up. Very close to some lovely walks which led us into Cirencester, a lovely town to visit.

Thank you so much, we are delighted you had a lovely time with your friends and enjoyed the local walks. Nothing better than time spent with friends! We hope to meet you next time. Many thanks Anna, Diana and Sarah. Property Owner

  • "The Barn was just as advertised and all three of us loved staying here."

Everything about it suited us perfectly as the main areas are downstairs so easy to get around for those less mobile. The main double bed downstairs was so comfortable and not having slep so well for weeks it was delightful. There is plenty of room to share downstairs and because we had brought our own logs we had a fire every night. It’s close to a main, busy road but because of double glazing you couldn’t hear it inside the house. Sadly it’s fully booked until September but that tells you how wonderful this place is. We would, in a heartbeat, return again….

That is so kind, thank you for your lovely feedback. We look forward to seeing you again and thank you for staying at the Barn. Best wishes Anna, Sarah and Diana. Property Owner

Perfect for relaxing with friends, and it was great to be able to bring my two dogs with me. The gardens were dog secure and they enjoyed exploring! The humans were also very happy with the cottage, its proximity to Cirencester where we spent a few hours and also Westonbirt where we enjoyed the Christmas illuminations. The downstairs bedroom would make it suitable to bring my elderly parents. Seeing photo's on Facebook a friend has already asked for details of the property and I'll be highly recommending it.

The underfloor heating more than kept us warm and the stone floors were a godsend with the dogs. The kitchen was so well stocked with everything you could have ever needed - brilliant ! We were grateful for the torches provided especially taking the dogs in and out. There was more than enough comfy seating for the 6 of us and the bedrooms were lovely especially the large downstairs one. The nice touches like the cake, flowers, dog biscuits and milk were truly appreciated. We were super happy with our stay - thank you.

Thank you we really appreciate your kind feedback, we try really hard to make sure that the Barn has everything we would want for a family party. A huge thank you and we hope the whole family, two and four legged return! Property Owner

Secure garden for the dogs that we appreciated in the very wet weather conditions . We loved the log fire for cosy nights in and the smart tv was an added bonus . My only suggestion would be bigger plates for dining and a dog bin or pail in the garden . Great area for visiting with a great roast at the Green Dragon ( call and book a table as very busy ) . Lovely artisan bakery in Elkston worth a visit at 4.30pm to grab a good to go bag (£8 for 5/6 pastries ) . Butcher also amazing with quality steaks and sausages that my boys loved.

We are very pleased you enjoyed your holiday. Thank you for your lovely comments and suggestions. We are so lucky with the local pub, and Knead and Jesse Smiths at Elkstone are a favorite of ours. Property Owner

  • "First off, we booked this cottage because of its dimensions and the two bathrooms (we wanted to stay there with two couples), not because it fits our taste."

We were happy to have such good weather, it would have been quite chilly and damp if it had been otherwise. In summary it is not a place that we would visit again, because of its location (close to the noisy highway) and its interior.

Thank you, we understand that you booked the property for its rooms and facilities. Due to the 35 degree weather we had switched off the central heating. We are sorry if this was not to your liking. We were aiming to keep the place cool for your comfort. As the barn has underfloor heating it is never damp. Thank you for your visit to the UK. We had the need for a few changes due to our circumstances. We were with elderly parents who not disabled but had mobility issues. The light in one of the bedrooms upstairs had a touch light which is easier than looking for a switch in the night but doesn't match the other beautiful lighting in the garden room so just borrowed it and put back.Looses gravel from house through disabled entrance was a struggle for walker but not for a wheelchair so we just swept it away abit.Lovely walk in shower but we had to buy a chair but lots of grab rails and a good non slip mat which is rough for feet cleaning.Pictures show twin downs stairs double and twin upstairs, this has now changed to double downstairs and 2 twins upstairs. Pictures also show a small wall mounted tv.,This has been upgraded to a freestanding larger TV with Netflix and good channels.Lots of lovely sofas and chairs and does not have a list of dos and don'tsso you feel welcome not tolerated,.Seating area by bbq is not wheelchair accessible but the rest is.Large bbq a fire pit and lots of garden furniture to mix and match to your needs. Only draw back was stairs which when lit puts landing light on so might disturb other guests if not all going to bed same time and have suggested stick on lights going up which are sensored.3 entrances so if you have to access garden at night there is a fire exit direct down well lit stone stairs so does not take you through kitchen to courtyard or garden room which opens up completely with folding doors, beautiful on a warm day which unfortunately we didn't have to many of.Thank you .

Thank you, we are glad you felt relaxed and enjoyed your stay…sorry about the rain! We have now added in our welcome information the availability of the perch stool. The property is aiming to meet many individual needs for their holidays we try very hard to make it welcoming. We changed the downstairs room in response to previous feedback but the beds are zip and lock so they can be separated if necessary. Thank you for staying and hope you had a safe journey home. Despite being close to a busy road there is almost no traffic noise inside. The gardens are quite welcoming although not very well kept. The garden furniture needed a good clean and there was no BBQ as advertised. Inside the barn is reasonably spacious and comfortable, although the bed (downstairs) was not so good, and the mattress protector under the sheet was heavily stained and needed a real good wash. The property was not that clean. Quite a lot of dog hairs on the upholstery. Not impressed by a heavily stained teapot, scrambled egg on the frying pan, some dirty cutlery and crockery. We certainly left the property cleaner than when we found it. Was not of the standard of other cottages we have rented

We are really sorry that you did not enjoy your stay, thank you for your feedback. We work hard to ensure that the issues you raised have been addressed and other guests will benefit. There is a BBQ in the fire pit, but we have purchased another one in response to your comments. The bed is brand new, we will add toppers. We do love dogs and welcome them. Kitchen well stocked with utensils. Cottage clean and warm. The double bed was broken on our arrival, the owner left us a note to state it would be replaced, but not until the 6th day of our holiday. I felt we should have been made aware of this before our arrival, The bed in situ was very uncomfortable with a broken base. The hearth stone in the garden bedroom, needs something to distinguish from the floor, maybe some edging ? As several members of our party fell over it. However these two issues will not defer a return visit

We are really sorry, the Thursday was the earliest date that the bed could be delivered. Once again our sincere apologies, we will look at the hearth stone mapping. Thank you for staying. Property Owner

The Barn is warm, comfortable and was perfectly clean. The gardens are a delight, especially with all the spring flowers currently in bloom, and with seating in various areas to catch the sun at all times of the day. Perfect for the many places to visit from here but equally good for a cosy day in. The Cotswold Distillery is well worth the journey - best to pre-book a tour - which includes a take-away bag for drivers so they don't miss out. The downstairs disabled bedroom with walk in en suite was perfect for my mom (who can’t do steps and uses a wheelchair). The kitchen was super homely and well equipped. The upstairs bedrooms worked well for my sister and me, with a shared bathroom. The pretty gardens surround the property and there is always somewhere sunny to sit, even though the house is in a dip and north facing at the rear. Several sets of tables and chairs and even a beanbag lounger provided. The photos and description were accurate. Ideal for families or couples and for dogs. There is a bit of road noise but that was flagged and to be expected given how close it is to the A417. There is a very useful garage with Co-op shop a few yards walk from the cottage. The owner left is a welcome pack of lemon drizzle cake, water, juice, dog treats and flowers which was nice. Basic things like washing up liquid, cleaner, clothes, dishwasher tabs and clothes tabs also provided as are shower and hand held and shampoo. We were happy to do the rubbish recycling. • "We chose this property due its location and disabled facilities."

My mum needed a down stairs bedroom/bathroom. We were disappointed that the disabled access is a drop off point down a rough path to the front of the barn. We would not have been able to get a wheelchair down the path as it was too narrow On arrival we collected our keys from the key safe and discovered they only opened the side door into the lounge, we had to push the coffee table out of the way to get in. Not the easiest of access for a disabled person. We later found the key to the kitchen / main door on a shelf.. The listing does not explain that you can’t park outside the front of the property. It was only at the latter stages we were advised drop off only outside and then park through a gate in the back garden, as this was on a grassed slope it was not possible for my mum to walk or be wheelchaired down to the property. We were left a hand written note to advise the boiler wasn’t working properly and given some vague instructions on what to do with it to top up the water, not something I’d expect to do on holiday! Glad my husband knew what to do! The note advised they would look at it after the bank holiday weekend, but nobody came.

We are sorry that you found the access difficult and will change our labelling for the keys. We have also made changes to our welcome details following your comments to make this clearer. We tried to pop in the several times but you were out on each occasion, sorry we did not get to meet you. We have been in contact with the engineers regarding the boiler and will be changing it to ensure this issue is resolved. Once again our apologies for this we thought this issue had been resolved and checked the boiler whilst you were out, we can only apologise for this. The 24 hour garage is really welcome! I would definitely would recommend this house to stay in! Just a few points: It does need a much bigger tv in the lounge, as it’s so small we have strained our eyes; outdoor steps have no rail and would be a challenge taking anyone with a disability or taking an older person; no outside lights near the cars.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you, following your feedback we are fitting a rail to the outside steps. The disabled access is to the rear of the property. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds. The facilities were excellent the downstair bedroom and wet room is beautiful the two upstart bedrooms are large but main bathroom is a challenge if your over 6ft due to the sloping ceiling but again is well finished and functional. As informed in the information when booking you can hear the A417 dual carriageway from the garden but not in the cottage, and this is subjective background noise my daughter from Surrey didn't notice it my wife from a very quiet Northamptonshire village did. Yes would recommend and really enjoyed our stay. Andrew M Bull

Thank you for your kind comments. The Barn is a listed property due to ‘it’s agricultural importance’! This means that we had limited options due to planning considerations. It is new to the holiday rental market and we were the first visitors. We booked it the day before our arrival and the host had made sure it was perfect. The property was well equipped with everything we could possibly need; including lots of things for the children. The host could not have been more helpful - and we arrived to a lovely cake and fresh bread that she had made. The property is in a good location, with Cirencester only 10mins away by car. We will be recommending to our friends and look forward to visiting again! Thank you!
