House is comfortable and spacious. The Wye Knot pub no longer serves food at all but the Old Ferrie does and its good. Take a torch - its pitch black down the lane! The only difficulty we encountered was the drive exit due to a very tight turn onto the road particularly for larger (SUV's) cars! Plenty of room in the property for all the family and well maintained. The hamper was a lovely addition and much appreciated.

Thank you for your kind feedback and delighted you enjoyed your stay at Tudor. You may have missed the bit in the Guest Information that the iron gate exit at far end of the drive is only suitable for smaller vehicles due to sharp corner on the right, and to swing more to the left on the road to negotiate that bend. Not only was the space very generous, the facilities were exactly as described and the owner had clearly taken great trouble with the advice for visitors. The property was particularly well placed for places to eat and drink, and the River Wye was a short walk away, whether you wanted a riverside walk, a fery to the pub on the other side or even go canoeing - which we found great fun.

  • "This is a lovely house with fantastic views, a well stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms."

The garden is listed in the description as tiered which doesn't quite cover its major unsuitability for younger children. We went with family including 3 grandchildren under 5 and altho they were accompanied by several adults, there were too many hazards for them. Older children or teenagers would be fine with it. The parking and backing off the driveway could be tricky.

Jenny, I am very glad you enjoyed the house, its amenities and the fantastic views. The garden at Tudor has multiple tiers/terraces. As you pointed out, the upper terraces are definitely more suitable for older children. Younger children are best supervised at the lower rose terrace, though this can understandably be tiring if they are particularly adventurous! Finding Parking spaces in Symonds Yat is a bit of a challenge. Tudor is fortunate, indeed blessed, that we can offer off street parking for all our guests' vehicles...rare in the area. Our drive is long and does needs some manoeuvring on entry and exit, which one can get used to fairly quickly. Thank you for your kind review Property Owner

The beautiful hydrangeas were a lovely sight from a couple of rooms with rear facing windows. Cushions provided made the pergola area really comfortable and this was a very well used area for everyone. There were lots of activities nearby - we could walk to hire canoes to paddle along the river as well as visit the Butterfly House and the Amazing Maze - again, within walking distance. Really good ice-cream outside the Butterfly House - very big portions! The house itself was a great size for our extended family of 10 - we loved sitting around the dining table all together for meals and the larger lounge provided plenty of room / seating for us to gather in the evening. The reclining seating in the snug was much appreciated by a few of us - so relaxing to sit there. The house was beautifully clean and it we all appreciated having en-suite bathrooms as well as very comfortable beds. Additional touches such as large umbrellas provided (luckily only needed on one occasion), shower gels and shampoos, as well as a lovely 'Welcome Basket' with some tasty goodies and milk were much appreciated. There were short and long walks from the house and the owners provided detailed descriptions of these for us so we could take our pick. We particularly enjoyed walking down to Ye Old Ferrie Inn and along the river to cross a bridge to the other side of the river for a sunny afternoon drink at the pub there. Woods of Whitchurch was frequented by some of us - their lunch menu was lovely and their coffee was very good. It was easy to reach nearby supermarkets in Monmouth - about a 10/15 minute drive (lovely High street there). We also drove out to Goodrich Castle, Yat Rock, some lovely woodland with a little waterfall and Tintern (walk along the river) and there's definitely plenty more to do next time we visit. Thank you very much to the owners for all the detailed information which helped us plan our time there as well as their attention to detail in the house itself.
