  • "We had a wonderful week in the forest of dean!"

The cottage was spacious, comfortable and very good value for money! Elaine and Roger were very welcoming. We had a problem with one of the radiators and they arranged for it to be fixed straight away. The location was perfect for visiting many of the attractions on offer. We enjoyed Perrygrove (steam train), Puzzlewood, Beechenhurst (walking trails and visitors centre), Hopewell Colliery, Clearwell Caves. We also went on a great walk directly from the house (which we found in a book of walks in the comprehensive information provided!). On a rainy day we went to the cinema in Cinderford which was like stepping back in time! We also made use of the puzzles & games! Great takeaways and pubs just a short drive away. Thank you Elaine and Roger

Hi Annabel, Thank you very much for the positive feedback. It really is appreciated. The Forest of Dean is a great place for a family holiday and you certainly made the most of it ! Thanks again and hope to see you again one day. Kind regards Elaine and Roger Property Owner

  • "A lovely cottage in the Forest of Dean close to many attractions."

Elaine greeted us with a very warm welcome on our arrival. The photos on Sykes website don't do it justice with the property having more space than shown and easily accommodated us, a group of 7 adults without being on top of each other. The TV room has 2 2-seater sofas and the other living room has a larger sofa and 2 armchairs with the dining room off of it. This has a bigger table suitable for playing board games whilst we used the kitchen diner for our meals, a great space to socialise whilst cooking. The patio is just outside the kitchen diner and it was great to sit out on occasion when the weather was dry.

Thank you very much for this positive feedback. I'm so glad you enjoyed the cottage and had a great time with your family. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely house in a great location."

Everything we needed to feel at home. Plenty of room for us all. Our granddaughter loved playing in the garden. Personally, we would prefer larger ( and maybe thicker) bath towels. We chose to sleep in the bedroom with en suite but on hindsight might not have been the best choice as there wasn’t enough storage space for us - but to be fair, we don’t travel lightly! The other members of the party had more than enough space though. The other issue was no coffee machine, but overcame that by bringing our own. Would definitely stay here again though.

  • "We had a fantastic break at Lynton House!"

We had a lovely welcome from the owner and a nice bottle of wine! We went as a group of 3 friends for a relaxing weekend of walking, fresh air, nice food and a catch up in the chaos of 2020. The cottages was great - ideal for a group of friends or a couple of families to meet. There are 2 lounge areas and a nice, cosy dining section at the back. The kitchen diner was great for chatting while cooking and breakfast. The rooms are nicely furnished and comfy beds and bedding. Access to walks and bike rides in the Forest of Dean is right on the doorstep, so it's great for getting outside. A really lovely break, thank you!

  • "We had a great time, the house was lovely and we'll equipped with board games."

There was lots of helpful information on the local area. The cottage was homely and comfortable with lovely views. Our only very small suggestion would be to provide some larger towels, dishwasher tablets and to cut back the foliage on the path to the house as we struggled to get bags in and out without getting wet from the hedges. These are minor points as our stay was delightful, thank you.

  • "Wonderful cottage in a lovely location."

The photos really don’t do this beautiful house justice. We have just come back from spending a week here and loved every second. The house is very spacious and homely, with lots of thought going into the comfort of the guests, it has a beautiful garden which again has lots of space. We were 2 families staying together and never once felt like we were tripping over each other. There is a fantastic selection of books and board games if like us you end up spending a very rainy day indoors and there’s plenty to do if you are happy to drive away from the location. There isn’t much to do in the village itself but we found lots of things locally and further afield to keep the children entertained. All in all a fantastic location for a lovely holiday, we would highly recommend this cottage to anyone considering the Forest of Dean for their getaway
