  • “Great host and great property.”

Caroline was waiting for us on arrival and told us what we needed to know about the property. She also baked us a cake which was a lovely touch. The garden is big and enclosed with plenty of seating and a table tennis table in the garage.

The property

This character detached cottage is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in Ruspidge on the edge of the wonderful Forest of Dean, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Beautifully appointed throughout this cottage combines original features with modern amenities, offering families and groups of friends a high-class property for exploring this area.

The original stone-flagged hallway leads through into the well-equipped kitchen with dining area, where the chef amongst you will enjoy cooking up tasty delights on the range cooker with its double oven and 6-ring hob.

Afterwards retire to the sitting room with its original wooden floors and feature exposed wall with cosy woodburning stove to plan your next day’s adventures.

Alternatively, if you wish to escape for a while there is a separate snug with comfy settees, decorative stone fireplace and an additional TV, unless the children get there first that is!

Here, you will also find a superb selection of indoor and outdoor games to while away a couple of hours during a relaxing afternoon with loved ones.

Upstairs are four well-appointed and comfortable bedrooms, with the main super king-size double being zip and link to provide more flexibility with the sleeping arrangements.

The family bathroom is modern with a bath and separate shower available and there is a handy additional cloakroom on the ground floor and also there is a small shower room available.

On summer days’ step outside into the large lawned garden and sit and enjoy a barbecue on the patio whilst the children and dogs run off the last of their energies.

The garden backs onto the Forest of Dean offering privacy and the chance to enjoy some wonderful birdwatching.

This area has a wealth of footpaths and bridleways and cycle paths for you to explore, great for dogs walk in Forest of Dean Discover the historic towns of the area including Gloucester with its landmarks and Ross-on-Wye with its pretty buildings.
