  • "Very quaint cottage close to the town center."

It has a nice outdoor area (not that we had too much use of it in November!). Very clean and comfortable as well as being well equipped. Town is a great place to walk around, lots of old buildings and pubs. Its true what they say about the beams though! watch your head moving from room to room. Great stay well recommended.

Thank you for the lovely review, we are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, the beams do catch a few people out! After a day or so you get used to ducking them, there is so much to see and do in the area, we are glad you will recommend us thank you. Property Owner

  • "This is a beautiful little cottage with so much to recommend it."

The owners have worked really hard to make this place special, including decor, quality of furniture and fittings, comfort and not forgetting the very generous welcome basket which awaited us on arrival. However, being in our seventies we found one aspect of the cottage we found difficult - the narrow stairs with exceptionally narrow risors at the bottom and on the turn at the bottom of the stairs, difficult for those of us who are not so agile or confident as we once were!!! Also there are steps in and out of every room. The garden is also multilevel with steps up and down. This is not meant to be a negative comment, but rather to make people aware of this property geography before they book. Although we found this aspect difficult, it is a beautiful little property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The owners should rightfully proud of their little gem in the heart of Tewksbury!

Thanks for the wonderful review, we are proud of our beautiful cottage, but it does definitely have lots of steps and narrow areas to negotiate around, as well as low beams, which adds to the charm but can be tricky if you are less mobile. Thanks. Property Owner

A lovely mix of old and new. Right next to an ancient bridge over the Avon, and a good atmosphere (and beer) in the Old Black Bear, the oldest pub in Gloucestershire, just over the road. The Abbey is beautiful and just opposite it we had a good meal in the Abbot's Table.

Thank you for the lovely feedback, we are really glad you enjoyed your stay, and the local area. Property Owner

The cottage was spotless and everything you would want was there even a washing machine,I would suggest a slip mat for in the shower as it was slippery. The welcome basket was so much appreciated having saved us going straight out to get something ,it just let us get on unpacking .the bed was a dream haven’t slept that well for ages.

Glad you had a lovely time visiting places you used to before. The bed is very comfortable isn't it! Everyone loves it... We will look into purchasing an anti slip mat for the shower, thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

The cottage was perfect for 2 and very comfortable. Lovely welcome package & very comfy bed. Well-equipped kitchen. Lots of hot water to shower at the end of a long days walking. The courtyard garden was a sun-trap and our favourite spot for G&Ts at the end of the day. We visited Winchcombe, Broadway, The Malverns, Slaughters and Bourton-on-water during our week. Plenty of choice of takeaways & restaurants in the town - all walkable. We parked in the Oldbury car park £4 for 24 hrs. The pub across the road was also handy. Highly recommended

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, we are so glad you had a wonderful stay, and enjoyed all the cotswolds and surrounding areas have to offer. There are such an array of lovely restaurants in town, glad you managed to try some too, hope we see you again soon... Thanks again. Property Owner

There were very nice touches like the welcome basket filled with essentials and the dog bed and treats. There was only 1moan I had that the grill pan was too small for the grill but I got around that by using the oven to cook burgers. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone, its close to the town and the nearest pub is across the road (Ye Olde Black Bear).

We are so glad you had a lovely stay at Runnymede cottage, everyone loves the bed! It is truly comfortable... So sorry someone had moved the grill shelf into the lower oven that the grill pan sits on, it is back in place now. Glad you still managed to cook. Thank you so much for recommending us, we really appreciate it. Thanks Property Owner

  • "This was a wonderful cottage."

It was comfortable and clean, and in a fantastic location. The only real issue was parking, but that was easily resolved (when I arrived the narrow lane was blocked by other cars). There were also some very low ceilings. I don't think my 6 ft 5 son would have enjoyed being in the kitchen! For me, at 5ft 4, it was not a problem.

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, it is a narrow lane, so parking is a little tricky, with other residents parking too but there are plenty of local car parks or street parking if difficult ... And if you are tall you certainly do need to duck the beams! Glad you had a lovely stay thank you. Property Owner

Parking is an issue being so close to the road junction. But the more confident driver should manage ok. Beams are low. But that's the structure and age of the building. But it was a nice comfy little cottage.

Many thanks for your feedback, parking can be a little tricky, but most people do manage well. There are lots of car parking in Tewkesbury if not, within easy walking distance of the cottage as well as some street parking. Yes the beams and ceilings are quite low! Given the age and the property being a listed building, we think this adds to its authentic charm. We will look into getting a clock for the kitchen, that is a good idea, thanks, we are glad you enjoyed your stay in our cosy cottage. Property Owner

Many thanks for your feedback, we are glad you enjoyed the super comfortable bed! The location on the edge of Tewkesbury was really convenient. The cottage itself was spotless, the kitchen had everything you need for a self catering holiday all of the appliances looked new and the washing machine was the quietest I have ever seen. The welcome basket was great bread wine biscuits and jams and mustard.Upstairs the bed has to be one of the best we have ever slept in duvet and pillows top quality. The bathroom was small but not too small, toilet, sink and shower cubicle with electric shower. The cottage was comfortably warm with central heating and an electric wood burner.A smart tv is provided and also WiFi. Just a few minor niggles ,a hair dryer would have been nice and a kitchen tray to carry things out to the garden would've saved having to make a couple of trips back and forth. The stairs are not easy for anyone a bit unsteady as in places they are very narrow. The major problem is the parking, the photo doesn't show it but the lane in front of the cottage is narrow very narrow, I have a normal sized car and managed with a bit of tooing and froing to turn the car around at the end of the lane anyone with a bigger car might not be able to do that .Having said that ,the cottage is great and our dog loved it too.

Many thanks for the lovely feedback, we have since purchased a tray and hairdryer as a couple of guests have mentioned this, so hopefully this will improve further guests experience. As for the parking, we do suggest reversing down the private road as it is a bit tricky, with no turning space, but my husband manages in his van so width wise it is deceptionally wide, and still room for the neighbours to pass by. If guests find it tricky there are local car parks nearby in walking distance. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay in beautiful Tewkesbury. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely characterful cottage that provided my wife and I plus our beagle 'Sadie' with really nice accommodation for the week 02nd - 09th oct 21."

Efficient & adequate heating, important at this time of year and great wi-fi. Lovely comfortable king size bed and nice secure outside space if you take your four legged friend. Situated just a few hundred metres from Tewkesbury's high street, the cottage resides in a short row of similar cottages in a 'dead end' lane just off and running parallel to a busy road. There is some road noise but we didn't find it excessive. All good then ? well . . . my only concern was the parking. As explained in the cottage info, ideally you need to reverse down this 'lane' with nowhere to turn around you would otherwise be reversing out into the traffic on the aforementioned busy road. We are in our 70's and found this reversing stressful, the lane is very narrow with little clearance past concrete planters from neighbouring cottages. Don't despair, after contacting Sally (owner) she registered us on the 'resident parking scheme' for our stay. Just a short 150m ? away there is adequate parking. Hugh thanks to Sally for sorting this out for us. I guess many more confident (younger ?) drivers will handle parking directly outside the cottage but it is only fair I write this feedback from our experience.
