A beautiful old property a ideal place to stay while visiting the historic and well preserved town of Tewkesbury
We stayed with our small dog and use of the back garden allowed us to eat breakfast in the October sunshine before going out for the day

"This is an unusual and charming place to stay and the small space has been converted and decorated with a lot of thought and care."
The location was excellent - just a short walk from the High Street - and there was very little noise from the street outside. The only problem was the lack of information provided. We were asked to be mindful of central heating use yet several visitors had mentioned the lack of instructions for the digital controls. Every holiday let should have a folder containing all this kind of info about the property so that it's easily accessible - it would be so helpful for guests.

"The property was lovely, clean and comfortable and was ideal for two people for a few nights."
Despite being next to a main road, we were not disturbed by the traffic due to the double glazing. The features of this old, historic building were very interesting. Parking near the abbey was cheap and secure. We enjoyed visiting the abbey and went back for evensong later in the day. I would recommend the Italian restaurant beyond the abbey and Wetherspoons huge beer garden which runs down to the river. The location for exploring the Cotswolds was ideal.

"First this property is in a great location for Tewkesbury, no car parking but as it says in the information no problems parking in a nearby car park and if you have a blue badge it’s free."
The property is cosy and we had a nice time and as previous reviews the main cooker come microwave is difficult to operate I read the instructions but still had problems we settled for eating out.
Watch out for the step up next to the kitchen I found it in the night.
The Abbey and the museum next door are well worth a visit.
I would rate this property as ok to stay in.

"Lovely looking property and very quirky."
On the main road but the secondary glazing blocks out the sound almost completely.
Downside is that if you have someone above you then you can hear them walking around above your ibedroom. The people above us also had a dog which they let out into the shared garden (which the bedroom backs on to) several times each night waking us up. We were very tired by the end of our three night stay.
Could also do with some instruction for the combi microwave/oven as others had noted in the guestbook.
Overall a nice place and great location let down by the things mentioned above.

"We found Old Paper Shop very charming and pleasant to stay at."
Clean, tidy, comfortable and full of character. We had wonderful time. Few thing we would have improved are a description on heating and its schedule, notice regarding the actual absence of Sky channels (as it was still on a welcome note) and decent set of frying pans (ones provided were burnt and scratches non-stick )

"Have stayed here quite a few times."
Ideal as in town and for meeting up with family and friends as I used to live in Tewkesbury. Apartment is on the ground floor and all one level which is great. Only one thing that I would add to the info sheet is what days are the bins collected.

"Beautifuly presented and well equipped, just as the photos show."
Also, great position to access local theatre and other local entertainmets. The kitchenette was compact, but lots of takeaway food and restaurants just metres away. Our challenge for the first two days was the Mop Street fair, this was set up in the street in front of the flat - making it hard to get to the flat, closing the car park we would have used and causing significant noise. We do definitely recommend this flat, but suggest you avoid the 48 hours of the Mop fair in October.

"We had a lovely few days exploring Tewkesbury and surroundings over the jubilee weekend, coinciding with our silver wedding anniversary."
The Old paper Shop was perfect for just the two of us and our elderly dog. It was very well equipped and great use made of the space. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Ok, as others have said, the sofa isn't great, but we were out exploring most of the time and the comfy armchairs more than made up for it ! Many thanks, Jo & Bryan Miller & Biggles beagle

"The property is very convenient for Tewkesbury town centre with takeaways and shops just a few minutes away."
The property is compact but has everything you need. The kitchen is OK for some very basic cooking but you would struggle to do more. You can park on the road outside the property free from 6 p.m. until 9 a.m. and it was relatively easy to find a spot in the evening to park. Tewkesbury is a lovely town with plenty of interesting shops and eateries. The only criticism I would make is that we stayed in July and the bedding was winterweight with a very heavy bedspread.

"Tewkesbury is a good central point for travelling around South Wales and The Cotswolds as well as many parts of Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Hereford shire -- including the lovely Wye Valley region."
Tewkesbury itself was a very pleasant and interesting town with the Abbey as its focal point and our visits to Ledbury and Winchcombe in particular were excellent with specific visits to Eastnor Castle and Sudeley Castle respectively. Our accommodation at The Old Papershop was quaint and compact -- and very welcoming. Evening eating in Tewkesbury was an average experience at best -- with the big exception of Dalchini`s, one of the best Indian restaurants we have come across in many years and serving very good Bangladesh cuisine.
We had a good week.

"The apartment was small but cleverly designed to provide a couple with a comfortable stay."
Situated in centre of Tewksbury it gave access to the facilities of the town and it’s interests and also the surrounding countryside.
The Malvern Hills and Cotswolds are all within easy reach and the road system gives quick routes to interesting places slightly further away.
For us it made a perfect base.
