You have the whole of the top floor with its own entrance and amazing views from the spacious rooms . It is exceptionally well maintained with quality furniture and kitchen etc. It its own grounds and very few neighbours so very peaceful and set well away from the minor road linking Malvern to Ledbury. The owners live downstairs and are very helpful and kind but leave you alone so the apartment is totally private. Whilst in the least populated part of the Malverns there is a very well stocked tiny morrisons a five min walk and pub similar distance. 100% happy and even in a very wet week there is plenty to see and do nearby ( Ledbury, Malvern Worcester and Upton ) and two of the best pubs in the UK for being unique( Nags Head Malvern and Three Kings Handley Castle). A fabulous apartment in a brilliant location. Thanks

The views are simply amazing and the antique furniture and gorgeous Morris wallpapers help relax your mood and perhaps put you in touch with the fascinating history of the house. Clean, comfortable and spacious, we loved the stylish chaise longue and beautiful 30's wardrobes. The owners are very friendly and nearby in case you have any problems. There is a steep route leading directly from the back garden to the Malverns, so if you love walking this is for you! A good selection of interesting books for evenings or damp days, including reads on Elgar (we highly recommend his birthplace museum near Worcester) Roy Strong's garden and a novel by Radcliffe Hall, who once lived at Haslington. Thanks for the milk and lovely cakes on arrival! We were extrememely reluctant to leave at the end of our week, and would return in a flash.

  • "An absolutely superb property."

Lovely private apartment on the top floor of the owners beautiful old mansion house. Immaculately clean, well furnished and very comfortable. We were there in a fairly wet, cold November, and spent a lot of time outdoors, so it was wonderful to return to the property in the early evenings when the heating had warmed the apartment perfectly so that it was always nice and cozy. Lovely layout and given that the house is set on the side of the Malvern Hills, the bedrooms and living room have wonderful views across the fields to the distant hills beyond. The gardens are lovely, and the Autumnal trees on the hillside behind the property were lovely too. This is a wonderful old building and the owners have done an amazing job in ensuring it will survive for future generations. Almost like staying in a grand old National Trust property, although I think the quality of this accommodation may exceed. The owner was very helpful and the lovely cakes were a kind touch, as were the basics in the kitchen to get you started. The apartment is self contained and has obviously undergone a very high standard of sound insulation as no sounds were audible from the owners accommodation. Steep, private, stairs up into the apartment, but no issues as long as no major mobility issues. We found these added to the character of the apartment. The house is set back off the main road, although minimal (unnoticeable) traffic noise - on the contrary, this was ideal for reaching other destinations on our daily days out. Nice owner who we hardly saw and left us to ourselves, but would have been available if required. Highly recommended!

  • "We (3 senior ladies) stayed in this lovely 2nd floor apartment within a beautiful Jacobean mansion."

Set within the hills in Malvern Wells, it is perfectly located for many hill walks: historical places of interest; lots of National Trust sites and, of course, Shakespeare’s birthplace and home. The views over the hills from the apartment were stunning. It is extremely well equipped and the owners, who were extremely nice and helpful, added little welcoming gestures of fresh flowers from their garden and cupcakes as well as some essential supplies to get us started. There are plenty of eateries within a short distance and a convenience store half a mile away. All In all a great week and we’d thoroughly recommend Haslington House. We should add that access to the apartment is by stairs - 10 outside wooden ones and then once inside there are 25 concrete stairs (some curved) and a further 10 carpeted ones into the flat. We didn’t find them a problem but they are not suitable those with mobility issues.

Fairly dusty in places. Lighting was fairly poor. Needs stronger or more lights. Furniture is old and in poor state. It is described in places as antique, but It really just a collection of unwanted and old auction sale room items. Kitchen is functionally equipped. Could do with a better microwave and the ice compartment needs defrosting. Months plus side the views are spectacular, the heating keeps the place warm, there is lashings of hot water and geographically it is well placed for accessing the are.

Spacious comfortable and warm accommodation with tasteful artistic touches including antique furniture. There were homemade cakes as well as flowers from garden awaited us on arrival. Basic kitchen utensils but new saucepans. Beware of Hob, as it doesn’t glow red when used, so a potential danger. The temporary oven is down on the floor and is very small, so has its’ limitations. There is no dishwasher or kitchen scales. The gravel drive up to the property from the road is steep and curves round- only wide enough for one car. The directions to the property are not detailed enough- so it is best to check with Google Earth before you depart for holiday. There are 4 flights of steep stairs from the parking area to the flat, but the owners kindly offered to carry up suitcases and Tesco delivery.

It’s steeped in history. The Kitchen is well supplied And was a nice space to eat in. The bed was comfy and bedroom huge. The whole apartment has fantastic views. The bathroom is nice. The whole place has a relaxed atmosphere. The outside space with chairs and table are nice but down quite a lot of steps from the apartment. It wasn’t a space you could just pop out and use easily say for eating. You can however use the owners garden to walk about or put chairs in if you want. Although The garden was in need of seasonal attention, it’s lovely and very big, well established with a great array of plants you can lose yourself in. There is a path from the garden up into the woods which lead directly up onto the Malvern Hills. This was just fantastic. I would just trim back the plants and clear the steps a bit In the garden just to make it a little easier. (Part of its rambling charm) Although the house is a couple of miles outside Malvern town it’s so easy to get too. There is a well stocked convenience store a few minutes walk away. • "Nice, roomy, comfortable accommodation with wonderful views across the Three Counties Showground and Malvern Hills."

The `price' of the view, of course, is that you are up high, so be prepared to negotiate a steep, sharp-bended and bumpy drive before climbing 47 steps up to the property. We adapted quickly and were soon clambering up and down like mountain goats, but this is really not a property for people with mobility or respiratory problems (or - with a very steep, hairpin bend to negotiate - for nervous drivers!) The owners live on-site and provided basics like milk, tea and coffee, as well as a couple of cupcakes and a lovely bowl of freshly cut hydrangea flowers, which was a nice touch. Other than that, they are `hands-off' and seemed reluctant to provide more than basic information in a `file', so don't expect much in the way of a `meet and greet' or any recommendations for dinner on the first night. There is a very effective, fast-heating oven and a good quality washer/dryer which did (eventually) get the towels bone dry, but this was quite complex to operate, so be prepared to spend a fair bit of time combing through the manufacturer's instructions. A simple steer from the owners on the best wash / dry cycle to select would have been a great help. Overall, though, we very much enjoyed our stay in Malvern, which is a beautiful part of the country with some lovely places - like Hereford and Tewkesbury - within easy driving distance. If you're seeking a spacious property with a pretty, tiered garden and magnificent views, Haslington House fits the bill. (And, if you DO like to book ahead for dinner on your first night, we'd recommend The Nag's Head, an excellent gastro-pub in Great Malvern).
