    Burrows

“Gorgeous cottage, plenty of room but has kept it's character & charm.”

Fantastic, fully enclosed garden with a great view across open countryside at the rear. We basically couldn't have stayed in a nicer cottage - met & surpassed all our expectations & provided a great base in the North Cotswolds for exploring some of our favourite villages / towns - Broadway, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the Wold, The Slaughters, Chipping Campden, Blockley etc. Mr Burrows, July 2017.

The property

Brookfield Cottage is an historic joy, an exceptional Cotswolds' masterpiece that is THE perfect choice for families or friends.

The owners have been meticulous in their care to create an village escape that offers charm, comfort and character by the bucket load.

Tucked down a quiet lane that trundles through the village of Wickhamford where it seems all houses are historic and thatched, Brookfield offers a wonderful home to relax and really get back to basics.

Overlooking classic countryside with a view that reaches up to (in the distance) Broadway Tower or just sheep and fields nearby.

Step outside and you can choose to enjoy the vast 1/2 acre garden that will keep even the most demanding of children busy.

However, it is inside this 400 year old building that we enjoyed especially.

It has undergone a gradual and sympathetic range of improvement including a classic oak kitchen with gas range, a large, south facing living / Dining Room that is flooded with light, while upstairs large, bright bedrooms await with a 'tour de force' luxury bathroom that begs you to relax.

And relax you will - in style!

We love it, in fact we adore it!

Rarely will you get the chance to be surrounded by beams, oak flooring, and lead windows that are literally as old as the hills.

A truly enchanting home where you will 'settle in' within moments of closing the door on arrival.

With Broadway a few miles away, honeystone villages and foodie pubs and charming country estates await your visit!

Gorgeous.

About the location

EVESHAM

Stratford-upon-Avon 14 miles; Worcester 16 miles; Cheltenham 20 miles.

The pretty market town of Evesham lies within the Vale of Evesham, in a horseshoe of the River Avon, within driving distance of Worcester, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon. Evesham and the surrounding area is famous for its market gardening and the town has an array of individual shops, tea rooms, craft and antique shops, many traditional pubs, an Art Deco cinema and thriving arts centre. Steeped in history and mentioned in the Domesday Book, Evesham has a number of beautiful black and white timbered buildings, namely the 15th century merchants house in the Market Square, and the remains of Evesham Abbey are believed to date back to the 8th century. The area offers many lovely walks with Shakespeare’s Avon Way, Wychavon Way and The Heart of England Way all close by. Evesham Country Park is well worth a visit with an extensive garden centre, well-stocked farm shop, courtyard shops and restaurant, as well as a 130-acre estate criss-crossed with walks, or take a stroll up Bredon Hill home to an Iron Age Fort, Roman ramparts and numerous old standing stones all within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The nearby spa town of Malvern dates back to the Bronze Age, attracting plenty of visitors with its antique and craft fairs and auctions throughout the year, and the ancient cathedral city of Worcester, birthplace of Sir Edward Elgar is also close by.
