  • "You should be aware before booking that the site is shared with a caravan and 3 other tents, two of which have their seating areas very close to yours."

On site there are also properties with hot tubs in the close vicinity. Therefore, there is little space for children to be free to kick a ball or run wild. The booking says there is WIFI. You should know that this is not guaranteed. We stayed for a week and it was only available on our last day. This meant booking tickets for days out, receiving emails and using maps etc. was difficult as 4G was also hard to pick up and there was no phone network. Only Oak has wooden buildings housing a kitchen and shower room/toilet. All others are within tents. Contacting the owner for the code to get into the tent prior to the holiday was difficult due to signal and upon arrival was not important anyway as the owner was present. Her welcome speech was less than welcoming. The area is wonderful and glamping is something I would do again but at a different site. There is plenty to keep a family occupied and it is all on your doorstep. From the site you can go through a gate and walk for hours in the woods.

  • "What a wonderful glamping experience!"

The set up is super! Very comfortable, large double bed and each of the fold out beds is comfortable too (nothing inflatable in sight!). We fitted in 2 adults, 4 kids and a baby in a travel cot. The tent looks beautiful with lots of lovely touches. The log burner makes the tent super cosy at bedtime. The little kitchen is really well equipped and had everything we needed. And having our own toilet and shower was fab. There was also another gazebo provided so that we could eat undercover if needed. There was a little laundry room we could use that had a washing machine and tumble dryer. The kids loved playing in the woods and making friends with other campers (there are 5 tents on site). (The only thing that needs improving is the communication between customer, Sykes, and the campsite. We struggled to communicate to Sykes that we were a party of 6 plus infant. And they didn’t pass that info on. And it wasn’t clearly communicated to us that we must get in touch with the campsite before arrival, so we missed key info like bringing your own hand axe!)
