  • "Fabulous! We had such a lovely stay, the area is gorgeous, the nest was super cosy."

It was clean- packed with disinfectant, wipes, hand soap etc, which we really appreciated as our ASDA delivery driver didn't deliver our shopping! There are lots of lovely little walks and pubs near by and some gorgeous towns! We would definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone!

Lovely walks around and a perfect weekend away.

  • "The Nest was an excellent place to stay for the week."

We had everything we wanted and needed to feel at home for the week, and is a perfect location if you’re looking for a great escape to the countryside. We loved our experience in the Nest as its an ideal base to explore the Cotswolds. The decor was festive for the time we went and bright, which helped bring out the cosy space of the Nest. The furniture brings out the best in the tight space and even being 6’4 didn’t cause much issues in terms of feeling cramped. The bed was comfortable and the sleeping quarters felt homely and spacious. We would definitely recommend staying here if you’re a couple looking for a place to stay that is good value for money, and as a excellent place for exploring the Cotswolds.

  • "We absolutely loved The Nest."

We've been to a few cottages in the Cotswolds now but this one is by far our favourite! It's in a very convenient location, only a 5min drive to Bourton-on-the-water where you have all sorts of shops, restaurants and tea rooms. The Nest itself is absolutely perfect for a couple. It's extremely cosy, the heating and hot water work very well (they are often an issue with cottages but not here), the kitchen is very well equipped, you have a Smart TV for winding down with some Netflix after a good countryside walk. I also can't not mention the linens! So soft and luxurious, they really make a difference in the overall experience. I can't wait to come back!

  • "Lovely stay at the Nest for a week."

Check in was easy and the apartment had everything we needed including a well kitted out kitchen. Location was great and only a short drive from Bourton-on-the-water. Lots of nice places to go for walks nearby. A peaceful place to visit.

  • "Lovely cosy little place."

Definitely small but perfect for a couple of nights. Reasonable walking distance from Bourton-on-the-Water and an easy drive to Stow-on-the-Wold. A nice place to venture out from.

  • "Thank you for a wonderful long weekend stay at The Nest."

Great location, space utilised really well in the building and we had a fabulous time too. There are lots of wonderful walks around the place and we took a drive out which wasn’t too far away either. Great time had by the two of us and our dog. We would definitely recommend. Thank you!

  • "This is a great place to stay."

It’s as clean as a whistle, private, and in a peaceful spot well off the road. It’s a great base to rest your head after driving out to explore The Cotswolds. Ps, I’m not the sort of guy to notice or care about bedding or towels, but...... ....both here blew my mind - super super soft and comfy - I’ve been enlightened!

  • "The Nest is a beautiful property in a great location if you have a car."

The amenities are the best I’ve had in an Airbnb. Perfect space for a get away.

    AbbyJun 2020

  • "This is a little converted space over the car port and next to the hosts' house."

It is comfortable and quiet and set in lovely gardens and rolling countryside. Little Rissington is a picturesque little village and within walking distance (around half an hour) of Bourton-on-the-Water, a Cotswold tourist destination. The apartment is small, so somewhere to base yourself for adventures, rather than somewhere to spend lots of time.

  • "We have just returned from a lovely stay at The Nest."

The annex is very well designed, well equipped and in a lovely quiet setting. We really enjoyed all of the beautiful walks in the local area! Thank you very much for having us.

  • "Beautiful and serene."

    FranchescaJun 2020

  • "The Nest was the perfect retreat for a weekend away, it had everything we needed and was very cosy."

We got used to the low ceilings pretty quickly and they weren't a problem. The owners were friendly and helpful. It took 30 mins to walk to Bourton-on-the-Water; pavements all the way. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds.

The property

The Nest at Robins Roost is a well-presented rural retreat, nestled in the picturesque village of Little Rissington.

This wonderful bolthole is the perfect romantic getaway for you and your loved one.

Upon arrival on the grounds of Robin Roost, park your car in the allocated parking space and make your way up the stone steps, leading to the front door, which opens into the open-plan living space with kitchen, dining area and sitting area, which is a bright and contemporary space, offering wonderful countryside views and a homely feel, with all the amenities you require during your stay.

State-of-the-art facilities have been implemented to make use of the space, such as fold-out counter tops and a fold away dining table.

When the night draws to a close, make your way to the beautifully presented dual aspect bedroom which contains a king-size bed with plenty of drawer and hanging space for your garments.

Once you’ve had some well-earned rest, get ready for the day by having a bubbly bath, before heading to the kitchen to prepare a delicious home-cooked breakfast and enjoy it alfresco style down the stone steps and on the gravel patio area which is home to a bistro table and boasts stunning rural views across the ground of Robins Roost, which has large lawns, mature trees and a tranquil pond for you and your furry friend to enjoy a crisp morning walk.

Surround yourself in the stunning countryside, with Little Rissington having a number of walks and cycle routes on its doorstep, including those over to Great Rissington, home to The Lamb Inn, and others towards the much-loved Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the River Windrush, which boasts a variety of popular shops and attractions such as Cotswolds Antiques and Tea Room and the lovely Kingsbridge riverside pub, as well as Birdland Park and Gardens where you can enjoy the wildlife.

Greystones Farm & Nature Reserve is home to wildflower meadows and a working organic farm; offering time out from the hustle and bustle of the village centre, this reserve is open to public all year round.

For a touch of history, head to Stow-on-the-Wold, which is the highest of the Cotswold villages, and take a walk around the market square where you will find the town stock at one end which dates back to the 15th Century and is shaded by an old Elm Tree or take a stroll over to St Edward’s Parish Church where you will find the enchanting looking tree surrounded doorway.

Discover over 250 species of animals and be inspired by the beautiful landscaping and seasonal displays at Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens, located in Burford, known as the ‘Southern gateway to the Cotswolds’.

About the location

Bourton-on-the-Water 2 miles; Stow-on-the-Wold 5 miles.

Little Rissington is a quiet village outside the popular destination of Bourton-on-the-Water, Little Rissington is worth visiting for its 12th century church with its moving memorial to RAF servicemen. The village styling is typical for the Cotswolds; small cottages fronted by flower-boxes.

Associations are always made between the village and RAF Little Rissington, the air base which was located relatively close. The base is gone now, though buildings still remain and have now become the new village of Upper Rissington, and the aerodrome is now used for hang-gliding.

The main attraction is the 12th century church, which lies apart from the village up a short path to the west of the road. On Pound Lane is a row of Cotswold stone cottages described as perhaps the best example in Gloucestershire of 17th century vernacular building.
