  • "This is an absolutely delightful cottage on a working farm in lovely very private rural location yet only a couple of miles from beautiful Ludlow (not really walkable though as there is no verge or pavement on the narrow road leading to it) with a petrol station and a supermarket on the way."

The area is truly stunning with many walks, drives and places to visit within easy reach. The cottage is beautifully finished inside and all fittings and floorings are high quality. The kitchen is very well equipped, there is a good shower in the bathroom with plenty of hot water and the beds are super comfy. All in all simply idyllic!

  • "A fantastic stay, cottage was perfect being really well equipped, comfy and clean."

The wood burner was an added bonus on a cold evening. There was plenty of room for the four of us and the children loved the games (and Pippa the dog) to play with. Location is excellent with Ludlow round the corner and Wyre forest, Croft Castle and Carding Mill Valley a short drive away. Highly recommend.

  • "Stone House is a lovely, well-equipped cottage beautifully situated a few miles from Ludlow."

It is part of a working farm and is very peaceful. The owner is charming & helpful yet never over bearing- I liked to hear a little of the history of the property & what great before and after pictures! I would certainly revisit Stone House.

  • "Stone Cottage is full of personality: a 16 Century cottage with exposed beams, a bread oven (no longer in use) and a wood burner."

It is in the countryside, on a working farm. The windows face away from the farmhouse, ensuring privacy, but the owners are on the spot and we found them most helpful about queries. The floors are flagged downstairs and polished wood upstairs, so slippers are strongly recommended! There is an excellent 'batterie de cuisine'. So nice to stay in a cottage where it is assumed that you may want to COOK, and that provides scales, mixing bowls, a grater, baking dishes saucepans etc accordingly! We stayed in December and used the wood burner: it is extremely effective and not only heats the ground floor but warms the upstairs too. The cottage is about 4 miles from Ludlow by country roads. Ludlow (if you are not familiar with it) is a charming market town with a Norman castle, a 12th Century church and a wealth of half-timbered buildings. It provides good provision shopping and places to eat out, whether morning coffee or formal dining. The only slight problem we had was that our backs (which are no longer young) did not get on very well with the beds! The bedrooms themselves are snug and well-appointed.

  • "The accommodation at Stone House is first class - roomy, comfortable, and extremely clean."

It offers a fully equipped kitchen with everything one needs to prepare your meals if one decides to stay in for the evening. Ludlow is easily reached in just 5 or 10 minutes by car and there are a number of National Trust properties close by for those that want a little bit of culture. All in all a very enjoyable place to spend a few days. Both my wife and I would strongly recommend it.

Small outdoor seating area and parking right outside. Easy trip into Ludlow for shops, pubs and restaurants. Owner was very friendly and happy to chat about the local area. Warm and cosy from the central heating. There’s a wood burner too but we didn’t need it. Everything you could possibly want in the kitchen. The bathroom is downstairs which wasn’t a problem for us. The wifi wasn’t very reliable some days but I know the owner has had problems with his own too and has had people out to try to fix it. Great area and lots of things to visit. It’s a lovely cottage in an extremely quite spot but not far rom Ludlow. Good for walkers . *****Owner Response***** It is disappointing to hear your comments regarding our holiday property. There is a portable heater available which can be used in the bathroom if needed. The stairs are not steep. They were a new addition to the property when it was renovated. They are not a straight flight of stairs. They were designed with a quarter landing to fit the property and conform to building regulations.
