Very dark cottage dark colours and poor lighting.
Toilet and bathroom on ground floor was unexpected and had to manage stairs in the night to use toilet. Wild and overgrown garden.
Property was ok but from choice we would not use again. No means of keeping gates open when you went out you would find one had blown closed whilst out and entrance being on junction it was risky stopping part way in entrance.

"Cleanliness: Surface Cleaning was adequate however Needs a deep clean, lots of cob webs ,dirty skirting , windows and carpet deeply matted with hair."
Mould in teapot on arrival. General maintenance: House and Garden needs some attention , the owners will already know this. Managed to just prevent an injury to my dog in the garden. Piece of wood with rusty nail lying on the path. The chimney needs sweeping the back flow of smoke when you light the fire is a real concern. Comfort: Beds fantastic. Sofa awful , we spent most of our time on it putting the seat cushions back into place. Old sock down the back was a bonus . The road noise...... not a lot the owners can do about this but it really should be mentioned on the cottage description it really is intrusive with heavy industrial traffic all day .Must be awful in summer if you want to use the garden. Lounge rug a real trip hazard as it constantly rucks up under a glass coffee table too heavy to move .Not sure how Adelle managed to move it to clean . Equipped: Considering the cottage can sleep 5 , nowhere near enough mugs/cups . 1 pint glass , no storage tins /boxes but managed to find an old takeaway container to put biscuits in, no bath mats provided, two log burners but no fire irons?? Couldn't open the freezer drawer so frosted up. Used the vaccum but had to open the doors of the cottage to ventilate it afterwards, perhaps the filter needs changing. I wouldn't return and this is the first poor Sykes review I have felt the need to leave . Sorry.

"We stayed at the Coach House for a month while our own home was being rebuilt."
It was, simply, perfect. It had everything we needed for an extended stay with two kids and a stupid dog. It was spacious, warm, comfortable, with high quality furniture and a very high standard of decoration. We did lots of cooking in the spacious and well equipped kitchen, we cooked marshmallows on sticks in the woodburner, our dog - Wirehaired Pointer with a desire to explore the world - was completely safe in the entirely secure garden, and we played games, watched films, and read books in the lounge while rain lashed at the windows.
All the rooms were big enough, all the beds were comfortable, there was loads of spare bedding and towels, washing machine, dishwasher, clothes rack, WiFi, and the showers were lovely .
Pub and shop within walking distance, Bewdley is 10 minutes drive with everything you need.
We had a really great time - we've rarely stayed anywhere so genuinely homely, comfortable and practical.
The owner, James, and the housekeeping team lead by Adelle, were incredibly kind and helpful when - to the shock of all - our building work over-ran and our boiler at home conked out.
Gorgeous area. Lots of walking in the Wyre Forest and Clee Hills. Bewdley, Ludlow and Tenbury provide the small, pretty, interesting towns.
Book it, you will absolutely *not* be disappointed.

Carpet stained. Thick dust throughout. Shower very moldy and around bath. Carpet gripper at top of stairs loose. Washing machine rubber dirty. Top drawer of freezer too icy to pull out. Majority of crockery very chipped and cracked. Only 5 mugs provided. Not aware it was situated on a T Junction with no footpath very noisy. Dining room table dirty - only 4 chairs not 5 as shown. Outside furniture covered in mold. Compensation agreed before we found other problems and told would have to go through 3rd party for anymore. Worst holiday ever!!
Thank for your feedback, without which we couldn't keep improving our guests experience. Naturally we were alarmed to receive your call the morning after check-in, alerting us to the issues you were facing. Due to the severity of the situation we immediately offered the opportunity to vacate, and a full refund without question. We were told that instead you would prefer us to arrange housekeeping to go back in and resolve. In the hour it took to arrange this we were then told you'd prefer that housekeeping did not return, and that you'd completed a clean to your satisfaction and that you were very happy to stay for the week. Disappointed that you'd felt you had to clean on your holiday we immediately offered compensation which was understood to have been received as generous. To investigate the matter further we were told that photos would be forthcoming, but all we received was a single image of the plates and bowls. We have since audited the crockery, replacing the chipped items and providing an additional set of mugs. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. The shower area has received fresh silicone around the edge and we will also be looking in to your comments about the carpet gripper and the washing machine rubber. We have further investigated the feedback about the garden furniture, and the small dining set is painted in cottage cream, and the bench is oiled allowing it to weather with a patina. The house is situated on a country road without a footpath directly outside, you have to pass out of the gates and around our land before meeting the footpath all the way up to the village stores. In the other direction it's a winding country road leading in to the middle of the forest and as typical of this type of remote location doesn't have a separate pedestrian path. Property Owner

"Overall our stay at The Coach House in mid-winter was more than satisfactory."
Taking into account that the property is set beside a fork in the road between an A road and a lane, the noise was not too horrendous although it should be taken into account if you have a problem with background noise. A loose manhole cover on the lane occasionally caused a clatter as a vehicle passed over it. The only real disappointment was that only one relatively small towel was provided for each guest. The dogs enjoyed staying as well and the walks once in Wye Forest were exceptional. We stayed for a family wedding in the vicinity, but should we need to return to the area we would book the Coach House again.

only issue we had during our stay was that the settees aren't the most comfortable. wifi posed an initial problem and we logged into the Hub, instead of the dedicated wifi. Remote on the tv and sky seemed to conflict but added bonus we were able to chrome cast our own programmes. these were all minor issues and did not effect our stay in a lovely cottage, very clean and very very well equipped. OH don't use Chef and Brewer (dancing Horse, as recommended in the cottage info) worst meal ever. Thank you to the owners of the Coach House, a lot of thought in setting up the cottage.

"Generally the cottage itself was average, though the kitchen was nice but let down by a poor oven."
The main bedroom was nice with a very comfortable bed however the ensuite shower temperature was uncontrollable and far too hot. Possibly a personal preference but the lounge sofas were uncomfortable for any significant period, meaning that 4 people had to sit bolt upright when watching TV. TV was 'just' acceptable though controllers were next to useless due to wear and tear and need replacing. Wi-fi and heating worked well. Property is advertised as sleeping 5 but there are only 4 seats at the compact dining table. Biggest let down was the advertised location on the road and the outside space. On the website the property is shown further up the road but its actual location is right on the junction of a very busy uphill road where heavy lorries pass every few minutes having to accelerate hard up the hill thus causing significant road noise, too much to want to sit outside. If we has been aware of the actual cottage location we would not have booked as we had discussed this point but felt that its indicated position on the website suggested this wouldn't be a problem. I feel this is significantly misleading and requires rectifying. Cottage can't help its location but people booking need to be aware. The decking itself is verging on dangerous, ballistrades not secure and would likely give way if anyone leant against them. Grounds themselves pleasant and secure for dog to roam but not for relaxing! Overall property score 5 out of 10 and unfortunately we won't be back

On arrival the exterior looked very tired. Grass was ankle length and borders full of weeds. The lovely decking area looked in need of some care too, with weeds growing through the decking and the fence around the deck needed some paint/varnish. The interior was much better and smelt lovely and clean although there were a few cobwebs and under the beds needed a hoover. We had a lovely afternoon tea left us which was delicious. We were also surprised to find no pillow protectors and would have thought this would have been a necessity in covid time. That said it was a warm and comfortable cottage but needs some tweaking to earn its 4 ticks we feel.
