  • “The cottage was stunning, good value for money, spacious and had a great kitchen, a good set of cooking saucepans, utensils and crockery.”

They were 2 showers, a great conservatory, with an amazing view and lovely garden. However, it was not very welcoming. I expected perhaps a few packaged teabags, a bit of coffee, a few biscuits, but there was nothing. I also expected a welcome book, but we had handwritten notes in a book with the bare essentials in, but nothing about when we leave. My sons got the keys as they arrived before us, so I never got to meet the keyholder. However, whilst I was having breakfast a man was coming round the property, round the back, looking at the beer bottles we had placed on the step outside ready to put in the bin in the light. I felt my privacy was invaded as I was not yet dressed. He was looking at a tile that had fallen off the roof and mentioned our bottles!! Another day when we were playing a game as a family outside, someone walked through the garden saying they were going to read the meter, possibly again the key holder. Inside the property, the decor was very dated, the rugs were very faded, the carpet not very clean in the lounge, we found food on the floor, the sofas uncomfortable with a throw over them. Unfortunately, there was also a chair that was broken that we could not use. I also found someone else's rolled up socks in the main bedroom drawers! We also had to hunt for toilet rolls. A map of where to go for a walk would be great. We could not walk on the road as it was 60mph and we only had fields full of sheep droppings by the property. The details also made it sound like you could walk to the local pub, which was one reason we chose the property, but that was impossible. Shropshire was amazing and the property is in a great location and we had a fantastic holiday!!
