  • "Lodge was excellent a lovely welcome pack on arrival."

Situated in a very rural area but ideal to visit many places of interest. Must be well insulated because it kept warm throughout the week. Had a very good weeks stay definitely recommend.

  • "Lovely property with well equipped kitchen, cozy living area and comfy bed up in the eves."

Generous welcome basket was appreciated. It was handy to have the small fenced area outside so we could let the dog out supervised but off lead for a wee. Very rural quiet location. Weather wasn't great during our stay, just means we have to come again in better weather. Our 3 year old cocker spaniel settled right in. Like it was home from home.

  • "A truly excellent, comfortable cottage."

It was a cool, damp week so we spent more time in the cottage than normal for us. The sofa was comfortable, there was plenty of space, it was warm & the heating could be adjusted, the oven heated up quickly, the shower had good pressure & the bed was very comfortable. It's completely quiet so we slept well. The welcome pack was so generous we were still eating some at the end of the week. But best of all there are tawny owls in the tree right at the back of the cottage who flew past when we walked the dog in the evenings. It was a very relaxing break & just what we needed.

  • "The only disappointment for us was that we were unable to stay at the property for the full 7 days due to a family medical issue, but the 4 nights we did stay were lovely."

It’s incredible value for money first and foremost, plus it’s very quiet with lovely views across farmland. We loved the field next to the cottage to exercise our border collie before going out for the day and we also liked the convenience of being able to park right outside. We visited Croft Castle, Berrington Hall and Brockhampton Park… all National trust and beautiful and Queenswood Country Park which our dog loved. The area is wonderful too, Ludlow is a gem with its market 4 days a week. Highly recommended if you want peace and quiet in a comfortable relaxed setting.

! The cottage has everything you need for a great stay, it is very homely and comfortable (especially the bed), well equipped and extremely quiet and peaceful. The owners are friendly but not intrusive and provided a very generous welcome pack. Our dog very much enjoyed the stay. There is an enclosed area so you can just let them out which is ideal. There is gorgeous views and countryside to walk the dog on the doorstep too. Overall, the cottage is really peaceful and the owners have equipped it perfectly. Would highly recommend!

So peaceful, rarely hear vehicles. Beautiful views. Though in the grounds of the owners, only saw them once. You are left well alone. Our dog Ralph was very happy here. We had good weather too which helped. Having said that I would still be happy to curl up with a good book if the weather had turned bad. Would love to return one day.

  • "Visitors are well provided for with generous welcoming provisions, from necessities like milk, and in the cupboards, coffee and tea, with additionally treats like wine , crisps and biscuits."

The fabric and furnishings are of very good quality. However, the bedroom in the roof space is the major negative. The ( unnecessarily) large bed takes up the vast majority of the floor space in which head height would allow safe walking, the sloping rafters coming down to allow only very small walls, approximately 2'6" or 75 cms. with very low chests of drawers for clothing fitted almost against those walls. The sloping roof meant difficult access. And the lack of head height meant no proper wardrobe could be accommodated. Practicalities suffered in favour of appearances. A good example was trailing plants in a tiny bathroom when shelf space should have been the priority. Overall, a generously well equipped property but not very practical.

The owners are right next door but don't intrude at all but are at the end of a phone if you have any questions. We have stayed in many cottages and this is at the top of the list for everything.
