“The old barn was lovely, beautiful peaceful location.”

Realy comfortable bed, and reasonabky well equiped. Lots of places to visit, and we both loved Bewedley. Just a couple of little niggles. The kitchen sink needed a good scrub, it was actualy tea stained, and i had to clean it, also no pillow protectors on the bed, although i did find a couple in the cupboard. Maybe im a little paranoid with everything that is going on, but i think these things need addressing. Having said these things we had a lovely holiday.

It was well equipped with 'extras' we had not expected. The location gave us plenty of opportunities to vist National Trust properties, a day out on the Severn Valley Railway - En route to Bridgenorth we stopped at the excellent SVR Museum at Highley. A great holiday for us in a very comfortable cottage.

The added touch of a welcome pack of cake and milk made us feel very welcome, and the Prices were on hand for advice if needed. “1 oven door does not close properly 2 hot plates old and one control is broken 3 shower needs attention,mound outside door,plastic mat dirty 4 whilst sitting in the lounge after showering water can be heard dripping in wall or ceiling 5 generally feels a little run down 6 had trouble contacting owner on phone but she emailed us so all was ok,suggest that email address be included in arrival instructions Otherwise.”

The area and setting was very good and we were impressed with Sykes handling. This is meant to be constructive criticism and we are not excessively unhappy but perhaps another inspection would not go astray

The scenery was magnificent, very quiet no traffic noise at all and with no light pollution we had wonderful views of the night sky. Unfortunately being November not the weather for sitting outside but we hope to return at a warmer time of the year to enjoy the beautiful private enclosed garden and sit on the bench at the front of the cottage enjoying the view.

“A Little Gem.”

A really beautiful little cottage, has everything you need, including washing machine and dishwasher. Comfortable and cosy, the perfect home from home, pretty private garden with table & chairs. Lots of interesting places to visit in the area, Bewdley is beautiful and the museum is well worth a visit.

“Little Gem in Bewdley Worcestershire”

Perfect hideway, the cottage is very comfortable home from home, the owners Jill & John Price made us feel very welcome, always on hand should we needed them but in no way intrusive. The cottage is very well equipped, plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and towels. The kitchen is very well equipped with full size fridge and freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. We loved using the secluded garden which again was equipped to a very high standard. The location is perfect for anyone who needs peace and quiet, but close enough to several attractions for a really good day out. We particularly enjoyed our visits to Hanbury Hall (National Trust) and the West Midlands Safari Park, we visited twice! Bewdley village is typical plenty of pubs, eateries, a long cool drink sitting by the river on a sunny spring afternoon is a must.

“Marvelous Hidden Gem”

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left The Old Barn we could not have been happier.. Mr & Mrs Price were a delight as hosts, very warm and welcoming but most certainly not intrusive. The little extras provided go a long way to making your stay very special. I sort of loath to sing The Old Barn's praises too much as i fear it will become difficult for us to book this marvelous property in the future, it is a true hidden gem in Worcestershire. If you are lucky enough to stay in this lovely cottage you will not be disappointed. Only sorry we didn't stay for a week as our three night stay passed too quickly, how time flies when you're having fun and feel comfortable in your surroundings. Hope to return for a longer stay in the near future. Many thanks to the Price's for your hospitality and the privilege of staying in a top class cottage. Ian & Lorna. xx
