  • "Ham's House is a beautiful place to relax and unwind."

The communication with the host was great and they were very accommodating. Ham's House was beautifully decorated, very cosy, clean and in a wonderful setting. We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed several walks from the property in the beautiful countryside. Inside the property were lots of walking pamphlets which we found very useful. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was lovely with lots of hot water. We would recommend the Live and let live pub where we had a fabulous homemade meal. We walked there which was a few miles through lovely scenery. We would definitely come back again and recommend to others.

  • "Comfortable and well equipped holiday accommodation."

Amongst the quietest, most off the beaten track places we have stayed in. Ideally located for exploring the Shropshire / Worcestershire / Herefordshire areas. We will likely return in a less wet season to be able to do more walking in the area. It was very easy to find when we arrived, despite being up a farm track off a minor lane! The biscuits and the home pressed apple juice were a nice touch. We would definitely recommend Ham's House.

  • "When we arrived the bathroom towel rail wasn't on and we couldn't find the switch."

Eventually we saw the owner outside and she told us where to switch the towel rail on. The cottage was easy to find though watch out for a pothole on the last leg of the lane drive up to the cottage. The bed was nice and cosy and we had no problem with the T.V. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

I'm so sorry about the over sight with the towel rail - the cottage had been empty so I'd forgotten to turn it back on -the switch is in the bedroom which is a bit unusual but it is labelled. thank you for the feed back, the council are busy fixing the potholes! • "We really enjoyed our week at Ham's House."

The cottage was great for a couple looking for a remote countryside break. Everything we needed was provided in a very comfortable, warm and stylishly decorated property. The cottage is ideally located for walkers looking to explore the amazing Shropshire Hills and visit historic towns such as Ludlow and Bridgnorth. Also lots of great places to eat nearby. One suggestion ... it would be great if instructions for lighting the wood burning stove were easily available. Otherwise everything was perfect!

Thanks for the feed back on the lighting of the stove - very useful. I've just had the chimney swept and checked with the sweep whether anything was causing a blockage. The stove can be tricky to light initially because of the outside flu being cold - the solution is to let a couple of fire lighters burn for 10 minutes or so to warm the flu and then it will draw better. You may also need to keep the stove door open initially and even open a window if it's being stubborn. If I'm nearby I'm always happy to help. Clare Property Owner

We are keen cyclists and it was a real joy to come back from a long ride to a great power shower and an extremely comfortable bed. We ate out most nights but Ham’s House is fully equipped should you wish to stay in and cook. We were aware that there is no washing machine which was not a problem for us. However, saying that we did have a lovely holiday and as long as we did not listen to the satnav all of the time we managed to avoid the narrow single track roads. Head to the road to Cleobury Mortimer 4117 or to Tenbury Wells and then take whichever turn you need to get to your major destination. The cottage is comfortable. There are hens and dogs (4) which like to come and visit - we loved this but some people may not The barn is very close to the main house which did not bother us. The views are spectacular. • "We had "syked ourselves up" to enjoy the luxury (on our Golden Wedding celebrations) of Underfloor Heating."

However, the installed system decided otherwise. From our arrival @ 1520 on Fri 26/10/18 we had NO UNDERFLOOR heating, upstairs or down, until arriving back @ Hams House @ 1545 Mon 29/10/18. ( The expert plumber, Mr Thompson [needed for such a complicated system ] was not available until Mon 29th. And my, what a difference it was from Monday eve ! Just liked we'd paid for and expected from a reputable company ! Yes, Clare Venner provided us with an oil filled radiator heater. But this of course, still meant bare, cold, timber flooring, purposefully installed to enhance the underfloor heating experience - when it was working. As this experience was listed in the features, it was obviously a consideration in the pricing and something which attracted us to this property. If the property had been listed with oil-filled radiator . . . well, it wouldn't have got a look in. Therefore, we only received 4/7 of the stated highly important feature for an October/November holiday break. It's about now that you should be offering about £50 refund as a tangible way of showing your concern. I'd have emailed sooner but this alternative google a/c of mine, is not visited very often. The small village of Milson boasts an 11th century church and beautiful unspoilt countryside. The nearby riverside village of Neen Sollars dates back to the Saxon times and is home to the popular 'Live and Let Live' pub serving real ale and home-cooked food. Just three miles away, beneath the shadow of the mystical Clee Hills, the pretty town of Cleobury Mortimer provides a refreshing selection of shops, pubs and restaurants in an array of Georgian and Tudor architecture, along with a striking parish church with an unusual, twisted spire. The area around the Clee Hills provides excellent walking, cycling and golf, plus fishing can be enjoyed at one of the many pools in the area or on a quiet spot along the River Severn. Tenbury Wells is a charming, ancient market town situated on the banks of the River Teme in Herefordshire. Many festivals can be enjoyed in the town throughout the year.
