  • "We spent a lovely family week in the Cedar Cabin."

Absolutely beautiful area and couldn’t fault the cabin. The hot tub was lovely and so was the surrounding lake, geese, sheep and baby lambs! We took the advise from reading another review and brought our own electric kettle and toaster along as we didn’t want to wait around having to boil water on the gas stove and make toast in the grill oven, but everything else was well provided for. We had a curry night down at the local Lion Inn on our last evening and the food there is absolutely amazing! We enjoyed it so much that me and my husband have booked one of the smaller pods for the weekend for just the two of us again for June and November this year! Thank you to Salford Farm for a lovely week away. See you again in June! :) x

Great property and location. Very comfortable and warm. We had a very pleasant and relaxing week. Unfortunately had not appreciated that the lake is being developed as a specimen fishery. Fish are present but the style of fishing required is not suitable for the average child which was disappointing. The hot tub was a welcome and well used diversion. Would recommend, but with a reservation about family fishing.

The only downside for us was the chairs - we were a group of four ladies on a catch up weekend we didn't want to go out but just have lazy Friday and Saturday nights in - but one of us always ended up sitting on the dinning room chair which after a couple of hours not comfy - would be great if you removed an item of furniture (corner table/desk) to make room for another soft chair - this would stop us booking again

We found loads of places to visit in the area and could not fit in all the activities we wanted to do. The kids loved the hot tub and spent hours in there each night. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. You are surrounded by the farms sheep which made the stay even more enjoyable. Would highly recommend and I am pretty certain we will be visiting again. Thank you to the owners for creating this gem.

I wanted to escape the world for a few days and that’s exactly what I did the peace and tranquility was amazing, to wake up in the morning to sheep and lambs outside your window and geese on the lake just perfect!! I would highly recommend a stay here if you’re looking for a very chilled break. If I could rate it higher than 5star I absolutely would

We had a fantastic few days and will be returning. The lodge was homely, clean, and tidy, with everything you need under one roof. The hot tub was perfect, enjoying late into the evening. I rarely leave feedback, but this lovely experience deserved recognition. I would recommend a visit, we also had our nine-year-old son with us, who was more than occupied with the nearby walks, animals, and fishing! We are looking forward to our next visit and exploring more of the surrounding areas.

  • "The place is brilliant, amazing location and the cabin was fantastic."

Few things though, the approach road to the cabin is very rough is it possible to have some compact road than the loose stone which might damage the tyres. The most important thing missing was a toaster. If would make a great difference is you add toaster. Also the main door is bit off balance and it takes bit of pulling and lifting to lock the main door. Other than that we had very fantastic time there. Would love to visit again

I would however recommend that an electric toaster and kettle would have been nice as you couldn't make toast if the oven was in use and the kettle on the gas hob took a while to boil the water, but this is being really picky. I would stay here again for sure!

I couldn't think of anything you didn't have, plenty of towels, toilet rolls, wood for log burner. Lovely hot tub. Dishwasher a lovely bonus. 2 pubs just down the road serving fab food. If i had to name a negative the country roads have no paths so not great at night but i'm sure you could arrange a taxi if there were any issues. I would not hesitate to recommend the lodges to anyone and locals made us feel very welcome, didn't want to leave and will definitely be returning.

The lodge definitely has the Wow factor from the minute you arrive. It is set on a secluded spot well away from the other lodge and pods. On the lake side with fabulous views. It is clean, has everything you need for a great stay. Hot tub, wood burner, gas bbq give it that extra touch. It is on a working farm on the outskirts of the village. Short walk to village pub and shop. Lovely walks in the area. Andy and Rob are great can't do enough for you, very friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Can't wait to return, would definitely recommend. Short 5 min drive away is The New Inn, fabulous pub food, and plenty of it

  • "We booked a 3 night stay in March and had a lovely time."

The cabins weren’t too close so it was nice to have room and feel like you weren’t intruding on other guests as they were all booked. We met the owners and they were very pleasant. The location is secluded and on a farm, the track down is a little steep so was a bit tricky to drive down if you have a smaller vehicle but it’s very scenic when you get to the bottom. There are lots of walks in the area (albeit very hilly!) and a few pubs to try out as well as a friendly shopkeeper who runs the village shop. Facilities were nice, the hot tub and wood burning fire were fab touches! A few things to improve on would be to add a toaster, have some spare pillows and bedding for the sofa bed and the doors were quite squeaky and hard to shut and the front door was difficult to open and lock. Overall we had a fab relaxing weekend. We’ve already looked at rebooking and would love to return. Thank you!
